Priest by Min-Woo Hyung is a Manhwa, everyone should read that series. Mon, 19 Sep 2005 10:42:36 -0400 ~Tsuzuki http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/2493/ I've read "Soul to Seoul" (can someone who knows Korean tell me how to pronounce "seoul"? Thanks.), some of Kill Me, Kiss Me, some of Chronicles of the Cursed Sword and some of Rebirth. I don't think manwha's bad. It's a bit different from manga, but it's still pretty good. Being Korean doesn't mean if it's good or bad though. And just the same way, if something is Japanese, that doesn't mean it's ultimately good. So I don't really base my preferences on Korean vs. Japanese; I base it on story vs story. *Shrugs* And there are some really interesting Korean manwha just as there are some really interesting manga. And viceversa. Sat, 17 Sep 2005 22:46:15 -0400 ~reinselft http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/2493/ For me manga nor manhwa does not matter... it's the story is what makes me read it. But from my reading list, I seem to gravitate to manga more. The only manhwa that I read (and respect the art) is Island by In-Wan Youn and Kyung-Il Yang. Tue, 28 Jun 2005 22:17:19 -0400 $obsidianbutterfly http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/2493/ Model is a fantastic series by lee so-young. arcana is also published by this author. i love the style of the artwork, though it's very very androgynous. and i don't think that manhwa is a threat to manga, at least not in canada. and really i don't begrudge any artist the chance to have their work displayed anywhere. if i had the talent i'd be grateful for that chance. Sat, 25 Jun 2005 18:58:47 -0400 angela http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/2493/ I like reading Champ! ReCast is soo cool^^ Did anyone know about it? Sat, 25 Jun 2005 15:58:23 -0400 $Hostile http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/2493/ Manwha is Korean for comic and we know it as Korean comics. That's probably about right.

As for manwhas I like... there's only Shin Angyo Onshi. Sat, 25 Jun 2005 00:14:04 -0400 ~Reiyoku http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/2493/ Being 100% Korean and all. I haven't read alot of manhwa.
I have to admit that I like teh style of drawing of japanese more then the koreans. Sometimes their a little bit to serious^^; Fri, 24 Jun 2005 23:30:33 -0400 ~Shion http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/2493/ I'm reading INVU and PRETTY, they are very pretty! Fri, 24 Jun 2005 23:25:37 -0400 ~meikomb http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/2493/ I don't think manwha is a threat to the manga market unless you really look at it from a business perspective. If you look at it, almost any product can be a threat to another product, especially when it comes to kids. Let's say a kid's got $10 bucks to spend. Truthfully, anything that the kid's thinking about spending the money on is competing for that $10.

Anyways, I feel that there are strong manwha titles that are better than manga, and vice versa. I pretty much compare things individually so no one type of manga is necessary better than another. Sun, 24 Apr 2005 14:32:43 -0400
