anime it's for adult or kids?

It is for both. If you like it, you can watch it no matter how old are you. I watch anime, and will watch, and when I have children, I'll make them anime fans too^-^. Besides, there are different genres. One anime can be funny, and the other full with blood, violence, etc. Like Berserk or Elfen Lied. Others are more "childish" and cute like Rozen Maiden^-^. So I think that there are genres for all ages, and the anime it's for its fans.

Anime is for everyone!
i think a 'good' parent (a kind of childish and responsible - it is my definition of perfect parent) must watch it with his/her child and talks about what is wrong and wht is true. because some animes are too real and the child can keep wrong ideas from that
(for example suzumiya haruhi says there are many people who are living their own lives and if we look at this, we are only a drop at a ocean of human. and the solution given at anime is love! c'mon >:x a creative child who can understand haruhi's feelings but don't know the true answer of the question which stupid kyon -who always behave like he is mature and analyze things which doesn't concern him - couldn't give, can get suzumiya haruhi syndrome or sth like that *hey, i saw your smile - i'm serious*.)
and in that situation, the 'good' parent must talk with the child and i think this is the real purpose of the anime.

I dont know what to say...

Even now as im young... i keep on saying to myself that i would still continue to watch anime in the future even when i'm old. The thought of people thinking of me as childish because of watching anime never really struck me. Anyways...I think what you should do, or what im gonna say, is that i dont give a sh!t about what people think of me because speaking truthfully...im gonna say that my life would be nothing without anime. Call me a loser or nerd but heck...i dont care. I like anime and thats just the way i am and nothing will change it.

You should tell them to back off before you give them 1000 years of pain i got the same problem some one who watches cartoons from the U.S even asked me why i watched kids shows once i was so anry i didn't defend anime either lol

Animes (and besides it, all other cartoons) are no different from movies. They are the same kind of work-piece. The only difference bw the 2 is only 1 thing: movies require actors (real people!) while in an anime all the characzers are drawn. If someone likes movies, then this person would not be allowed to say odd words about anime, and regard it as something made for only a certain (age) group of people. There are also movies created for kids - but we don't say that 'movies are just for kids'. Anime is created for every age-group - but we have to admit that , for instance, there are still some that only teenagers would prefer and lil' kids not, and vice versa (we could use almost every age-group to set an example). Thinking that cartoons are just for kids is an odd statement - we should rather consider them as pieces of art than putting them into already set stereotypes...

For some reason maybe it should stay for kids but if there something wrong with it maybe it should be for Adults but you can not make some different like that though is hard to think weather it should be for kids or adults because there are some story tells about adventures, lifestyle, fighting, drama, and sort of things

When someone comes to me and says I'm an idiot because I like anime (my mother, for example) it just makes me laugh my head off. Especially, when I know that some of those people love Disney's cartoons. And after that they still think me as idiot for watching anime. Disney's cartoons are LOT more childish than most of anime can ever be, so what gives them a reason to come nagging to me? Well, they'll always get lost after I can't say a word because I'm laughing so much. :D

Many people tend to think that anime is just for kids because it looks like cartoons. But I think that anime is for all ages and they're wrong that it's only for kids. Many anime are produced for every genre and every possible age group. That's why either way it's a thing that you can watch all your life. So if people think of anime as kid's stuff you tell them that "How can you say that? Do you have proof that it's really kid's stuff? What about those hentai movies? Are they kid's stuff? Let's see if a kid would watch somethiing like that huh?" and look at the expression of that persons face ^^

I think anime is not just for one set of age group as it has so many genres. Anime is just the style, not the content so there is anime for both adults and younger audiences as in movies.

Some anime series are for kids, some are for adults, some for teens, and some for all ages. It's quite varied and all series are absolutely not suitable for kids.

Exist anime for different people, exist anime to kids as sakura, etc, and anime for adult, elfen lied, gantz, depends of anime type. but anime is for all!

Well, when they are teasing me, I draw something really cool, like girl and a dragon, or a vampire, and then show them. And, sometimes I give them Hellsing and they totally go crazy. But, like the others said, some anime are for kids and some are for totally awesome people. If they don't understand that, what can you do.

Anime, unlike cartoons in the US, is for age groups in Japan. You'll find family-oriented series like Sazae-san, children series like Pokemon, shounen series like Naruto or One Piece, and more mature series like Monster. And let's not forget, hentai, which is for adults only, is also under the anime umbrella.
