I knew how to speak it very well (all alone), but couldn't write. Then we lost our Italian programs (and since I was small then I forgot to speak Italian, but I understand it) and English came into my life. I fell in love...and what's better, I've been studying English since kinder garden. Then, in the 5th grade at school, I started to learn French. Now I'm catching words from anime, but to really learn Japanese, I need someone to teach me. :P Tue, 02 Jan 2007 09:32:56 -0500 ~xxfury2xx http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/37425/ I just started learning about two weeks ago. I'm mainly concentrating on learning hiragana right now. Followed by learning Katakana. I'm also trying to tackle how to make sentences and expanding my vocabulary as well.

さよおなら! (did I spell that right?) Sun, 31 Dec 2006 20:07:26 -0500 ~angelkage http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/37425/ I'm taking the class, isn't really that hard... i can't stop getting A's!! Sun, 31 Dec 2006 15:32:19 -0500 ~Caligo http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/37425/ I took a year of it, and plan on taking it further, if I can. My fiance took three years of it, and we both can speak it relatively well, though of course, he's better than I am. I understand more than I can speak, which can sometimes be pretty funny. I had memorized all the hiiragana and katakana before the first semester ended, and I even started the class a month late. Kanji was also pretty easy to memorize. The grammar and vocab took a bit of studying but nothing too hard there.

However, my second year of Japanese was So screwed up. All my teacher ever did was give us worksheets. There was almost no iniatitive to study or anything. I felt more like I regressed in Japanese, which is actually true because I forgot a lot of vocabulary and kanji.

Now, I'm just going by what I know. Thu, 28 Dec 2006 14:28:23 -0500 ~TB http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/37425/ I can speak a few words Japanese, some words from Anime like Kawaii-desu and Aligatoo.
