I was named after my grandmother and I like my name. I know a few people who have rare names because their parents gave them the names of some people from the history or stars etc. I think it's interessting when someone has a weird name. And as long as the person likes their name, it doesn't really matter.

Since I love Japan very much, I'm sure I will give a japanese name to my pet or child. :D But I'll try to find one that doesn't sound too weird, since the pet/child won't be japanese. There are 2 or 3 japanes girls names that are common in my country, so... :D

My name was actually a compromise my parents had come to. Originally my mother wanted to name me after my dad, but my dad wanted to name me something else. Eventually they just agreed to name me my current name, which isn't too far away from my dad's name.

My parents choose this name (Ana Maria) couse it was very popular& they liked it..they also wanted to name me after one of their best friends so that's why they called me Maria too...

My dad named me Richard, after King Richard the Lionheart, the first king of England. Then he went and named my sis Rachael and my mom keeps calling us the wrong names, heh.

I was name after my father which my mother gave me because my dad wanted to name me after his dead brother but my mom refused so after a long argument she won. My brother was name name after my uncle but its funny since my dad wasn't there to see his birth when it came to the naming he came in and just said it. The nurse asked who he was and my mom told her he was the father. She looked at him weird and left the room.

From Greek it means "light". But my mum called me Jelena, because of one Russian fairytale. xP

My parents went to some psychic person or something like that to see which korean name would suit me best. Apparently the factors which influenced the person's decision of my name were things like the weather, date, year etc.

Ok time for admitance, in England there used to be this Soap opera called "Brookside" and my older sister used to fancy this guy on Brookside called Damon Grant, so when i was born...Yes my sister named me...And i got stuck with Damon... How embarressing >_<;;!!

My sister fails....

(Also as a side not when i was born my mum was gonna call me Damon Robert Ian Poole...Yes take the initials, my intitals would have been DRIP...Sucks to be me. Luckily i Didnt get called Damon Robert Ian Poole, just Damon Poole, so i got out of that one lightly lol.
