Well, at Kai, we saw only Rena Grow up at first,and she is like half traumazed,at the end we saw Rika grow up,and don't know where's the other.

As you could see, there are at least 50 alternatives of the story (from Rika's view). The grown up Rena you saw was part of a 'version' where the village was wiped out, and the others likely died (because the marsh had been already filled up, and the area had been closed). Rena once left the village, but she didn't claw her throat, so she could do it again. But, she got "half traumazed" again, 'cos she reached about level 2 or 3 hinamizawa syndrome.

Anyway, if there's a third season, I want to be the second seeder of the ripped-subbed, matroska encoded version on isoHunt! :P

At least there's a 3rd season comming out. Will they be covering the Rei Arks? (The game itself?)

OMFG!
I'm so totally expecting this. I really liked the violence and originality of 1st season, but Kai was my favorite, focusing in escaping despair and tragedy. Although it wasnt as shocking the first season (which was the reason several people didnt like it).

But, will Rei continue the story. I think it ended quite well. Maybe it will tell sidestories like Nekogoroshi.

Anyway, the designs look good, they arent as ugly as the 1st season, but I still prefer Kai designs.

i heard it should be a OVA with 3 Episodes bbut i don`t know it`s true or not X---x
i hope we will know soon more about Season 3 and a date for showing will comes soon

The truth, I'm staying until the 2 nd season, the series is as good as starting and ending, I think saldra something ugly if you leave the 3 rd.

Isn't the third season supposed to be based off one of the PS2 games? I really want them to clarify a few things in the Higurashi world and I hope they do that with the third season because as far as I can see, 98% of the plot has already been revealed but there're still a few holes in the story. I watched the first season 5x and the 2nd season 2x and I'm still seeing these plot holes.

You are right. It is based on one of the PS2 game. I think this one is more like an OVA. I also heard that Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei will be released around winter.

So far I had watched the first season only. I do not have time to watch the second season due to the mass of homework and tests my school is giving me. But I am looking forward to Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei.

What I'm curious about is not when it will be released, but about what will the series be. First season introduced characters and gave questions, second one gave answers and happy ending. So what will be shown in third season? A 24 episodes of happy, peaceful life in a calm Hinamizawa...? As far as I know (maybe I'm wrong, not sure) everything what was in the visual novel series, was already shown in the anime (except two short side stories).
Anyway, I want Rei to be released. If it turns out to be much worse than previous series, then it's too bad, but if it will be as good as first and second season, we'll have sooo much fun again ^^ (but I hope killer-loli modes of characters will return - I miss them XD)

Well, it looks like the 3rd season of Higurashi will actually be an OVA series (Found that on ANN)

So...maybe it'll be a way of giving us more, without taking away the last arc's status as the 'true ending'?

I don't know...and I think Umineko is currently being made as an anime for the next season.
