I totally agree with you. Humans are not perfect, when people obtain money(power) some use it for evil, some use it for good. However, we always hear money is the root of all evil because it is human nature to focus on the wrong doers rather than promoting the people that actually did some good. When will anyone hear a gossip about a friend of urs helping an old lady cross the street...the fact is ...you don't... what you do hear is ...this girl slept was this guy and did this this and that. Humans make money evil, money is not evil.

Money = power
power = choice

For example, if a rich person got cancer, the person have the choice to choose between different types of treatment and receive them. Sadly, a poor person will have zero choice and maybe no treatment at all. That is in normal circumstances. If there was an earthquake, a rich or poor person does not make a difference. It is pure luck or karma which will decide whether a person dies or not. A person that does from a catastrophe does not have a choice to choose whether they want to live or not, they just die from a falling building

Money is everything although that everything doesn't really meant everything. to complete it, money is equivalent to everything that is temporary, material in nature and bounded only by way of living. other things like true happiness and virtue are not part of that everything.

though you can say that it is a fact that with the use of money, you can buy something that contributes to your happiness at a limited point of perspective. still, people who do not have a single penny can be as happy as people with bank-full of money, as long as you take consideration what it means to be really happy.

having money means a power over something that is of equivalent value, but we all know that not everything in this world has equivalent price value. take it from master card advertisement.

In my country money is a very important thing because we have yearly raising living costs in germany. Since this year there are some people who can no more afford going to work by car because of the fuel prices. But major,food prices raise more and more so we more and more depend on money. With minimal or not raising and in some jobs decreasing salary it gets hard to live here.
My general opinion about money is that health and love is more important,so i agree with most of you

The world suffers from economic crisis, rising oil prices and the cost of living makes it impossible for us to enjoy our lives. We spend more than 3/4 of our salaries just for transportation costs and food.

Money is important in the world but does it increase your luck with somethings? Maybe, you might have a better chance then someone else with less money, but the person with less money can still achieve the same status as someone else. I think people should be happy with a certain amount of money if they can live comfortably with it.

As idealistic as I'd like to be, I'd say that although money isn't everthing, it is a LOT. You can use money to buy stuff and live leisurely so you'd have some happiness attained from money at least. Please don't hate, just saying the truth.

When I have to choose my sin, that it would be Avarice xD I love money and love to go shopping. XD But I thinks this is pretty normal, am I right? Otherwise, like many people here said, Money can`t buy everything and of course their are pretty much more things which are more important than money. ;D

Because of the nature of the human heart, money can either becomes its servant or master. When greed is the motive, usually people are used &/or abused instead of loved. What we ought to do is "Love People and Use Things".

On another note, it really depends on how you were brought up I guess, cos like, if you grew up in a working class family, and became rich, then you would spend it differently than if you were brought up rich, but, there's always exceptions, in my opinion...

Thats very true too, but I think the exceptions are probably larger in reality. Theres this one documentary where they gave this homeless guy this huge amount of money, I think it was like $50,000 to see what he would do with it, and how that money would change his life, and in the beginning he was very modest, trying to save and do good things with it. But at the end, he just ended up burning it all on useless stuff and ended up on the streets again. So in my opinion, its more of how you got the money. If you were from a working class and hit it big on the lottery or come across it by lucky, you'd probably waste it so fast because you're not really sure how to manage it, even if you got it by working, lets say you landed a job with a big income, it'd probably take you a while to adjust to the new life with all that money. On the other hand, if you become rich by just hard work and dedication, you'd probably not spend the money because all you can remember is all that hard work that went into getting it, so you'd just end up saving it for some "other" time that doesn't ever come.

The Topic is not 'Is money important?'. It's about money being the most important thing or not. Would you rather have an incurable deadly disease with money to spend the little time you have left feeling better or would you rather not to get sick but having less money?

If you take it to the most literal meaning, than no money is not the most important thing, I would rather my family have long healthy, happy lives than a lot of money. But when it comes to "money = EVERYTHING", you can argue that money is almost everything or can get you almost anything if you have enough aside from health and happiness (to a degree) because even in those categories, money does make a major difference.

Very true, but if you have a disease and you were wealthy, the chances of you getting better compared to a common person is so much better. And even if you got an incurable disease, you'll probably be a lot healthier or more comfortable. So money matters a lot no matter how you see it.

Before posting this (and after reading all the other comments) you should ask yourself:
What's more important, getting cured from a disease/being comfortable while you're having an incurable disease or not getting sick at all? The Topic is not 'Is money important?'. It's about money being the most important thing or not. Would you rather have an incurable deadly disease with money to spend the little time you have left feeling better or would you rather not to get sick but having less money?
