That one song which sums up the whole album or gives a general feel to the album like the songs I stated before. NIN aren't going downwards in terms of music, if you see them live and see the amount of people rocking on down to Survivalism and The Hand That Feeds compared to the people getting their kicks off songs like Wish and Burn then you'd see they're about the same. NIN always release good music, if anything, this is his first disappointing EP/album/halo.

their live shows are way different story those are never a disapointment. ah *thinks about the day i say them live*

you saw them live...lucky. Fri, 23 May 2008 01:19:42 -0400 ~theegreatone http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/60897/ I've been working my way through the entire NIN library since I never really have, I will probably pick up Ghosts after than The Slip. Thu, 22 May 2008 00:08:37 -0400 ~taumaster http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/60897/ First off - I must mention i HATE Trent - TWO ALBUMS IN ONE YEAR?! just kidding, i love the crazy guy.
I heard The Slip when it just came out and I really enjoyed it. there are a few average songs but there are also some really great ones (AKA Echoplex, 1000000, Discipline etc.) It's a great album, and i liked it (although Year Zero is better). NIN's music isn't going Downwards, They are as good as they were (even if the style changes every once in a while, the overall is still great), and most NIN fans would agree on that. Sat, 17 May 2008 04:28:12 -0400 ~Adam-Kun http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/60897/ Meh, it was decent in my opinion, allthough I havent listened to it many times. I think that Trent needs to spend more time on his albums, and not pop a new one out every few months... Fri, 16 May 2008 03:10:55 -0400 ~jackass1987 http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/60897/ The Slip dids sound like a EP. I wonder then is Year Zero pt.2 is coming out. Wed, 14 May 2008 03:05:01 -0400 ~Deerstalker http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/60897/ Okay, to start off. Year Zero wasn't terrible, it was good for what it was and was a better follow-up to With Teeth which again was alright. As for the Slip, it felt more like an EP if you ask me. As of yet, I have to agree I can't really find one 'identifiable' song which defines the CD. You can find it with the rest, for example;

The Downward Spiral: Closer & Hurt
The Fragile: Star****ers, Inc.
With Teeth: The Hand That Feeds
Year Zero: Survivalism
The Slip: ??

It's an okay Halo. Definetely not his best.
Tue, 13 May 2008 12:30:19 -0400 ~Juve http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/60897/ i dont like the concept of the year zero album, so pretencious and empty, im still waiting an album that can resembles at least all that nine inch nails are.

i heard about a colaboration whit billy corgan in the new album, you know something?? Tue, 13 May 2008 12:10:53 -0400 ~Mason http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/60897/ What? Sounds nothing like Pretty Hate Machine, to me. The Slip sounds more like With Teeth, IMO. Tue, 13 May 2008 06:44:10 -0400 ~jackass1987 http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/60897/ The Slip is like Pretty Hate Machine, but thats me. Tue, 13 May 2008 04:17:20 -0400 ~Mason http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/60897/ This Year, NIN has been quite interesting. Ghosts was pretty good. Even reminded me of quake. However, The Slip, was just awful. Not a single song in it was worth a listen, IMO. Tue, 13 May 2008 03:51:17 -0400 ~jackass1987 http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/60897/

ShinKokoro

Yeah I had gone and previously downloaded it. All I have to say is no wonder its free. Trent is spiraling into genericism. I don't like Trent's new direction at all. Year Zero was terrible as well. T_T NIN has been one of my faves for a long time. I am sad to see his music take such a hit to the meaningfulness and quality that it once had.

I liked The Slip and Year Zero. I also like his older albums.
