Girls Playing video games

I used to play WoW and met some girls through it. It's so crazy how the guys all act when its proven that the the guildie is a girl. It disgusts me. We wouldn't have such a stereotype in gamers only being dominantly male. I've also played some free online games and met girls through them too. I've seen fewer doggish acts against girls on free online games compared to WoW. I find that interesting. This is irrelevant but I even met a hermaphrodite once and the raid leader was all having a medical talk with HIM because he wanted to eventually be full male. Really interesting convos in WoW.

Yeah. It is crazy what guys do when they notice a player is a female. A way to avoid is disguising your voice which PS3 and 360 can do but for PC on an MMO, just accept the free stuff and put up with the crap. haha. You women know it is true. A guy will give you anything you need on an MMO for no reason at all before he would do it for a guy.

I actually tested this...I played WoW and started as a male character. I had to get everything myself and make friends and do things the hard way. When I created a female toon and ACTED like a girl, I got free crap and all the help/friends I could want. lol. It is such a shame how guys act on these online games. Enjoy the game and use the brain in your head for once. lol

Hmm do you think its such a bad thing to use you feminine wiles to your advantage in online gaming? Is it really tactless for the girl? Or is it just dishing out equal karma to how shallow males can be? I'm just torn with moral dilemmas...hehe

When I play games online I usually just either choose a male character or just state that I am male just to avoid the pervs

It's a shame theirs so many immature gamers that make it a frustration to play online cooperative. I think everyone deals with it to some extent though considering I've dealt with racist to just your run of the mill jerk. I can however say you have a good point since I've seen a couple instances first hand over xbox live of perv's giving the lady gamers trouble. Hopefully as more female gamers start to play online these instances will decline gradually.

I'm a girl who not only plays video games, but I collect as well. I have 16 systems and over 250 games so far (would have more if I hadn't had to sell some. Long story). I used to be a VERY active member on GameSpot.com and I worked at a GameStop for little over a year. Also have a Final Fantasy Vi tattoo as well. So, needless to say, I love video games. Sadly, when I tell guys all of this they still get shocked. There are a ton of girls (38% if I'm not mistaken) that play video games. Sure, many play casual games but WHO CARES. Everyone has a right to play what they like as long as they are having fun.

Its a sad thing really, but some people gain an insane amount of confidence when they talk smack behind their monitors.

I've played with many female gamers and even met a couple of them in real life. Many of course have been harassed by those perverts but they've grown to just ignore. Its pointless to get all worked up about when you can just destroy them and make them jealous.

I think its a good thing that more and more females are gaming, it really helps expand it. Its disappointing that there will be those online jerks that thing they are the coolest thing that ever touched this planet but hey, it is what it is.

I am a proud female gamer. I have been playing games for years and I own all the consoles all the way back to Atari. Most of the time however I play as a guy when I play a game. Mostly because I don't like people knowing my gender and I want them to leave me alone. I hate the crap people give me when they find out I'm a girl and I wish to avoid that stuff. I also play a lot of games that normal girls don't play like the Shin Megami Tensei games or the Devil May Cry series, Or Rock band, or Guitar Hero, Final Fantasy, or Star Ocean or Halo, or Call of Duty. I think that all gamers need to get a hold of themselves and act more mature and not try to run people away. Just because a girl is playing a game doesn't mean she's a slut. It just means she enjoys that game. She shouldn't be afraid to tell people she's a gamer either. and if people who don't play games don't like it they should give us a valid reason why before dumping us or hating us. But just to let you know, when a female gamer dates a guy and they haven't been dating for at least a year I can almost guarantee you that she loves her games more than the guy. Cause her games will always be there for her.

There's a lot of girls who play video games these days. Their numbers are as much as the guys are. And don't underestimate girls, because girls can play games as good as guys, infact, some are better! ^ ^

Anyway, I'm a girl who also play games. I find it quite enjoyable to play all kinds of games (Still waiting for FF 13 and FF Versus 13; Can't wait to play them!!). Well, except for some games that doesn't meet my conditions.

But beside that, It has become a common thing for girls who play games. Of course, exclude girls who only think of "Oh my gosh! ...(pick a brand of famous clothing, ex: Mango, Gucci, etc) sale!!" or "Which lip gloss should I wear" or "Do I look sexy? What about my french-manicured nails? Pretty aren't they?"

Note : Believe me, I didn't mean to offend girls who talks like *ehm..* what I wrote above.

I don't play online much, so I'm fine with playing any kind of video games. Usually I'm asked by others for weird things when I play online, but I just ignore them and move on with my life, it's only a game after all.

I'm a girl. I really enjoy playing video games (especially RPG) like guys do. I don't have much time to study, read teenlit novels, shoujo manga, and decorate my own room. Have anything to say? lol.
I have been sticked out with video games since... childhood? Tetris, Sonic, Super Mario, Harvest Moon, until now. I don't intend to leave them, never.
Not only video games, girls these days also enjoy visual novels and even eroge. Yes, that's me and some of my friends.
It's normal, right?

But I do not play online games... One reason is that I've got not enough time, another that my OPC isn't good enough. But I play PSP or Nintendo DS on my ways to work, school or when i drive to my girlfriend. (Everything by train, don't worry xD) Today I played Resident Evil Nemesis again. I play along side about 300 other regulars in this Counterstrike Source server, and there's about 4-5 female gamers there.. All of which are harassed..

It's really pathetic of them.. I could probably rant for hours about it, but I'll just leave it at "They need to grow up."
