Television isnt that what it once used to be! http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ en-us Thu, 23 Apr 2009 13:07:13 -0400 AnimePaper RSS Generator http://static2.animepaper.net/images/v5/icons/ap-logo-sm.gif animepaper.net http://www.animepaper.net/ Animepaper site syndication ~Nightquest http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ Yes I can only agree with this opinion. In former times TV was something really special but now there are only bad films or films which could be seen thousands of times...Really good new movies are really rare too only a few of them are useable. Thu, 23 Apr 2009 13:07:13 -0400 ~ChiyoIshida http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ I think I've narrowed down what I watch now too. Whereas before I'd find something to keep myself occupied and I find myself delving into a book more and more often. If I'm not doing that, I'm watching old shows and repeats. Childrens television is a waste of time now, it looks lazy and lacking the catch the old ones used to.

Even new shows that I originally love though seem to go downhill after a few series. I used to love Family Guy, now I think it's dumb. The Simpsons is another that's really seen it's day, House was growing stale, but then it managed to revive itself.

I will, however, be making sure I watch the new series of Ashes to Ashes Monday. I don't like it nearly as much as I did Life on Mars, but I enjoyed it all the same, so at least there is one thing. Fri, 17 Apr 2009 07:26:55 -0400 ~animaniac525 http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ Ah yes, television has become useless for me. XD In fact, I don't even watch the news, I really don't want to hear any more negative things. It's always about the negative things, the economy is going down, criminals escape, someone was murdered, the war is not over blablabla. I don't want to concern myself with those things since I won't find a for it anyway.

TV shows in our country are really REALLY predictable which is why I don't understand why old people watch 'em but I admit some of them are good however everyone knows that in our country only happy endings are accepted so everything is bound to have a happy and predictable ending. I easily get bored with watching tv. Even in anime, I can't find any good anime, animax just keeps on repeating their shows its so annoying! There's also another network in our country that shows anime but I don't like it, the dubber's voices really bring down the quality of the anime. No matter how good it is, the voices make it suck.

Ugh..television has really gone down for me. Like other people I usually watched it for hours and hours until I fell asleep but now my only concern is my computer, my anime and my manga. XD Tue, 17 Mar 2009 16:54:00 -0400 ~minakomel http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ Oh, I just wanted to quote something I heard once on E.R.

"Reality Shows: one of the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse" Tue, 17 Mar 2009 13:50:56 -0400 ~KeyOfTwilight http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ Cartoons these days scare me, frankly. Things like Chowder, or Flapjack, I watch them and think 'wow, what were these guys smoking?' In my opinion there havent been too many good cartoon shows in at least the last 10 years. Where did stuff like 'Centurions' or 'Swat Cats' go? Mon, 16 Mar 2009 22:05:52 -0400 ~grimbeaver http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ I don't think its really change THAT much. Its more like me changing... i don't nearly watch as much TV as i used to. And i think a big reason is the computer. The time i used to spend watching TV, i know go online and surf or chat or stream shows. I think its much more convenient, rather than having to wait til a specified time for you favourite show. Mon, 16 Mar 2009 21:53:13 -0400 ~Fayt42 http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ I used to watch TV excessively to the point my parents cut the cable. Now that I look back, I've been watching less and less and only watch the 3 asian channels that air for god knows how much a month -.- Lately I watch anime on the PC and usually surf the web for news and weather. Mon, 16 Mar 2009 20:37:31 -0400 ~rikatsu http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ Its just the same here. Before I always watch TV, that I even run to get home early. But now, all that's in TV's are showbiz, showbiz, and just showbiz. Hell do I care about stupid showbiz. Most of the channels here are launching anime shows but the time they air them is way too early, they air it on school time! So I have absolutely no time to watch the animes they launch here...I mean why launch the best anime in the morning? Damn, why do they hire dumb people? Mon, 16 Mar 2009 15:33:49 -0400 ~lightychan http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ Hmm... I don't watch it as much as I used to >.>
anime is my T.V.
but... I do like some shows on the Discovery and History Channel Mon, 16 Mar 2009 00:51:23 -0400 $animext http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ There isn't anything cartoon wise that really captures my attention on T.V. anymore. I've watched every episode of undergrads and clone high at least a few times each, and I don't even bother watching Anime on T.V. unless it's in Japanese (which happens rarely on the Space Channel). The only show I watch fervently anymore is House, a series that makes owning a television worth-while. Mon, 16 Mar 2009 00:02:13 -0400 ~zerosaver http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ Shows on TV aren't as interesting as they were before. When I was younger, all I'd ever do was watch TV non-stop, but now I can't even find a good show to watch. Sun, 15 Mar 2009 20:09:58 -0400 $Loftydreamer http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ I'm going to say that normally I hated Television here in the States, but recently that changed. I currently have a very large fondness of the programs. Now I admit I still have only one reason to even own cable and that is for G4TV. The unfortunate fact is Attack of the Show doesn't have online broadcasts. Beyond that though all of the shows I love can pretty much be found on Hulu these days. As for that list it goes a little something like this. Life, Lie to Me, Bones, Dollhouse, Fringe, House, The Office (Still like the BBC one better), and Scrubs (not on Hulu and ABC needs to fix their streaming quality). So really I am loving the broadcasting, but I still have no need for a television truly, save when I have company over, everything else my computer serves its purpose more than adequately. Sun, 15 Mar 2009 20:09:58 -0400 ~minakomel http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ Well, my opinion differs from a mayority of italians (i'm not italian) but italian people are very proud of their dubs (I find it horrible that the opening titles and songs are changed to pop songs, go look in youtube and type "sigla dragonball") but at least the dubbing is decent (except when they put words when their mouths aren't moving and make them think when they aren't).

In latinamerica, before cartoon network decided to ruin everything; dubbing was really good: op & ed preserved (sometimes the songs were dubbed to spanish but the original song remained), no censorship (I can believe I saw ranma 1/2 uncensored for about 3 years after lunch) and the only thing was that the names sometimes where changed (the case of sailormoon, which they used the american names until SuperS but the series remained untouched. Also, american logos were used instead of the original ones). Now, it's cheaper to buy dubs directly from america, so if it's broadcasted in cartoon network; it's a dub...from a dub (double dubbed).

thank god animax exists in latinamerica, except for the redubbing of evangelion, series in the channel seems good. They used to show only subtitles once, they stopped 3 years ago or so. Sun, 15 Mar 2009 17:18:50 -0400 ~emsden http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ I've been watching tv less and less lately

it just seems everything is a repeat, example is the music channels, the only new music played is from the big main stream artists and no one else

none of the new programs arent that original too

Wed, 11 Mar 2009 15:52:50 -0400 `kuryuki http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ Well i dont kno
tv's gettin so boring >.<
i hate the dub anime sht seriously >.<
the character sounds so weird it ruins the whole thing
and then there's like what 1/20 good shows? Wed, 25 Feb 2009 20:15:37 -0500 ~XLrina http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/62815/ In Canada there isn't that much good anime and that sucks. Shows like Blue Dragon, and Dinosaur King are just stupid. They used to show things like Gundam Wing, Gundam Seed, and Inuyasha. Now the only good animes you can get once a week is Bleach and Naruto. Argh... I wish they could update themselves with shows like Gundam 00, Kara no Kyoukai and more! Mon, 09 Feb 2009 00:55:52 -0500
