Everyone hate Susaku?

The first time around.. I disliked him very much for reasons because I was fangasming over Lulu but whatever, enough of that. Re-watched the first season and now on to re-watching the second I like Suzuaku a bit more, putting my hyper of Lelouch to the side. Though he is a weak character at times and still for other reasons makes you want to hit him a few. Can't say I hate him though.

I would have to say that I extremely dislike Suzaku because he tends to contradict himself often. Especially in R2 where he truly shows himself for what he truly is. He showed he was someone who only wanted status in the end; he never really wanted to change the world. Sure he changed around episode 20 of R2 but my sentiments lie on the old saying of too little too late. Self consciously he only wanted to improve his own pathetic self worth and walk over top everyone else in the mean time to get there. All the while his doing the ostrich approach of sticking his head in the sand Lelouch was busy really handling the task at hand. Might I add that Lelouch is no saint but he did try at every opportunity to save someone that was close to him on way more occasion then Suzaku. people Lelouch either saved or tried to save in the end > Shirley, Nanally, Suzaku, Kalen, and C.C. oh and about forgot the entire world twice 1. killing his father 2. neutralizing Schneizel

When you directly compare progress made for peace Lelouch made leaps and bounds ahead of Suzaku easy by literally taking the entire worlds problems and blame on his shoulders so that they could finally look beyond the turmoil to possibly consider working towards a brighter future. He took those problems and completely extinguished them by potentially taking them to the grave with him, that is if he didn't become immortal. This is probably one of the most selfless unconditional acts one could commit in my opinion regarding the better of man kind; he literally sacrificed his own life or any chance of ever having a normal life all in order to bring about a new age of peace. Lelouch took the fall for the worlds problems to sum it up.

Other reasons i dislike Suzaku - his very immature/misguided overall in terms as a character considering for example he killed his own father to try to prevent a war that regardless of his fathers actions was still going to happen. As the mind reader said he was only fighting to try and cleanse the blood from his own hands to only in the mean time manage to worsen the situation for many and hinder the progress toward peace. Had he joined Lelouch from the beginning who knows what possibly could of occurred but my guess is the war would of ended much sooner rather then later had he chosen to man up and do the right decision from the beginning. He also followed Lelouch's father who in my mind was a greater threat then Schneizel ever was considering Lelouch's father sought to reform the entire world by his vision. Anyways that's my opinion of Suzaku.

I can't say I hate him. I haven't watched all episodes yet, but so far I still sometimes like him more than Lelouch... he has his own reasons of acting and he behaves like a normal human. Not everyone is created to be a hero and no matter what he had done I just can't understand why almost everyone hate this character...

I think Suzaku was a coward, if we analyze it reached indirectly kill more people than Lelouch himself and not speak of Freya that shot.

I find him really annoying and a turncoat, he should have helped Lelouch from the beginning instead of running around not knowing anything, I mean, that princess would probably not have died if the princess was too distracted with Suzaku to do anything =P

Well, I for one love Suzaku and hate Lelouch.

At least Suzuku was fighting for something real. Lelouch sacrificed everyone he knew and everything he ever had for a crazy pipe dream of self-aggrandisement.

The circumstances behind how Lulu got to his brainwashed state is still unknown. At the very least, Suzaku sold Lulu out to the Emperor. An it's doubtful Suzaku had any idea that the Emperor had a geass at the time so he might have been selling Lelouch out just to obtain his Knight of the Round rank.

I don't like CG in the main thing Mecha ain't my thing and the story was wayy too dark and grungy for 16 years kids like them
I love blood but not the dark CG blood And entire story seems pointless sometimes when he discovered his mum was alive after all and to think all that killing for nothing at all
BUT! I simply the artwork and bgs Clamp and Sunrise create smex for us God knows how many hours I've spent drooling over Lulu and Gio and the rest of the gang

I hated him only when he worked against Lelouch, but then again, that was unknowing opposition. Towards the end when he joined Lelouch, I actually liked him more. But that's me. My favorite character was C.C. :P

Behind all that, he did atleast gave Lelouch a leverage so they can fulfill their goals. with that in mind, nonetheless, Suzaku is a total idiot when it comes to personality and perspective. only thing you can expect from him is that he'd swing across anyone without difficulty and probably do everything possible to gain his objectives and that includes selling out friends if he needs to..

Ofcourse we should hate him. he is the worset. first of all he never understand Lulu ( who's suposed to be his best friend). And worse than that he betrayed him. I don't know I just hate him so much and he definitly don't desirve such a good friend like Lulu. my poor Lulu!

I don't hate Suzaku. He's kind of interesting, with his aparent self rightousness, and latter chronic backstabber disorder. His character is really ambiguos and kind of twisted (like most of Code Geass).
He's not my favorite character in the series, but I like how he kept me guessing at what he would do next. I do think he had an awful lot of bad luck, but then again, most everyone in Code Geass did, so it can't really count as an excuse.

My friend and I really hate him...actually there is no special reason, I think.
At first, I really didn't think about if I hate him, or not... I didn't thought he was annoying or something like that... but, in the and I agree with Knanaki. well, I don't think that I hate Suzaku because of his kitchy past- I think that the reasons behind the murder is what makes it special- but, I agree with everything else.

I think Sasuke is just too emo-angst for me. I was quite charmed with him at the beginning of the series but I lost interest very quickly because, he's rather stereotyped isn't he? The whole murdered-family-out-for-revenge shtick has been used repeatedly by a number of animes. I remember when I first came across Tokiya Mikagami in Flame of Recca (the first anime series I ever watched) I thought he was truly tragic. But after 9 years of watching anime, coming across yet another character with that identical backstory just makes me snort in derision.

So yeah, Sasuke, for me, is truly one of the most annoying anime characters I've ever seen on screen. Plus he just keeps making bad choices, one after the other because of revenge and pride and all that jazz, it just makes me want to slap some sense into him... This sentiment, I think, has been expressed (or hinted at) by some of the other participants in this thread... XD

Some of his actions and his naivety were kind of infuriating and frustrated me at times but not to the point of hatred (Unlike Nina. I want to punch her. Repeatedly).
