Code Geass Season 2 ending... http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/63143/ the ending is ... en-us Wed, 18 Nov 2009 23:28:40 -0500 AnimePaper RSS Generator http://static3.animepaper.net/images/v5/icons/ap-logo-sm.gif animepaper.net http://www.animepaper.net/ Animepaper site syndication ~Frentzen http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/63143/ It seems that the last episode was pretty complex and out of most people I've talked to, a lot of people didn't seem to get it. I'm going to tie up all the lose ends (please keep in mind that this is just my opinion). The Code is the power of immortality, which C.C. has. The 98th Emperor of Britannia, Charles, has the Code. He transferred the Code to Lelouch while strangling him in episode 21. Lelouch wanted this, and he deliberately told Suzaku to not interfere. However, the Code does not activate unless receiver dies first. This is shown when the nun kills C.C. after transferring the Code to her. Charle's Code activated when he shot himself. Here is one of the big misconceptions that most people have: The transfer of the Code does not involve death of the transferrer. The nun was crazy and killed herself after she transferred her code. VV was injured from the battle and died. So basically, after episode 21, Lelouch had Charle's Code (inactivated) and C.C's contracted Geass.

When Lelouch got stabbed by Zero/Suzaku at the end, his Code was activated. What supports this is that Nunnally got Lelouch's memories when she touched her, just like Lelouch did when he touched C.C. back in Narita. The only way this could have happened is his Code activating. This pretty much confirms that he has the Code. Unlike C.C., and Charles, who lost their Geasses because the people who contracted them died, Lelouch didn't obtain C.C.'s Code and thus kept his Geass, while having the Code (which he obtained from Charles at the same time). Lelouch therefore has achieved CODE GEASS. Basically, Lelouch is the person driving the cart in the last scene. He, who is now immortal, travels the brand new world he has created together with the also immortal C.C. C.C. talks to Lelouch in the end by saying: "Geass is the power of kings, it will isolate you... well, I guess that's a little wrong... eh, Lelouch?"

Now comes the second big misconception. A lot of people say C.C. was just talking to the dead like with Marianne, that's not true. She could only talk to her because of the nature of her Geass which allowed her to implant herself into the "hearts" of others. That's how she was able to talk with Marianne. Lelouch's Geass was entirely different, meaning that she could only have spoken to him if he was there. Also, the fact that the cart driver is masking his features completely supports this fact, considering the fact that Lelouch is now considered dead. I hope I made things a lot more clear for people to understand. In fact, I cried so bad that I wasn't even able to make a single sound (which is kinda weird). But, it was beautiful ending in my point of view. Lelouch will all ways be alive inside our mind and forever more. (The extra part puzzled me though). Sat, 14 Nov 2009 22:10:30 -0500 ~ToxxicTeardrop http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/63143/ Well of course he's not dead, he took his fathers code which apparently makes that person immortal...

Unless I'm wrong, I'm re-watching it again and am almost near the end of season two so I'll see. Sat, 14 Nov 2009 08:22:40 -0500 ~sarge1221 http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/63143/ His still alive in my opinion. Too many what if's and possibilities to presume him dead. On top of that the driver of the cart is just too strange if you ask me i mean cart drivers are normal but to be that heavily garbed on a clear sunny day is a bit overly excessive. Sat, 14 Nov 2009 06:02:26 -0500 ~ReiStarrk http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/63143/ I honestly hope there's a third season and i don't believe that Lelouch died but i get the felling that if there is a third one it will enrage many other fans who liked the way it ended. but i still hope for it anyway

Right now i'm currently reading Record of a fallen Vampire and i'm noticing ALOT of similarities between the 2 characters, Lelouch and Strauss

warning spoilers to Record of a fallen Vampire follow:

1.Both had lost dear loved ones(for lelouch: Shirley, Euphemia, Rolo; for Strauss: his wife Stella and his unborn daughter
2.both had to fight said loved ones at some point in time( for lelouch nunnally at the end, for Strauss he had to fight and kill the theoretical reincarnation of his wife and daughter 49 times as well as his beloved daughter for about 1000 years)
3.They both started vastly outnumbered (Lelouch against about half the world although he did get allies later on, Strauss against the combined forces of the entire human race, entire damphire race and entire pureblood vampire race although later on the purebloods die out and the humans forget about him after a couple hundred of years and he gets one little damphire girl as his partner.
4.They both decided that they would become a symbol of hatred in order to unite the world(I believe that Strauss had a much harder time than Lelouch cause he had to stay alive because the damphires thought that they would become human if they used his corpse in a spell that was used to subjugate them but it turns out that was a lie so Strauss couldn't die or else the damphires would have no hope of living peacefully with humans.
5.They were both insanely intelligent and charismatic as well as they easily adapted to almost any situation.
6.They both strongly desire peace and are willing to take the lives of others in order to achieve it( and they both fully comprehend the consequences of their actions it takes a heavy toll on both of them mentally)
the book hasn't been fully translated at the time of writing this so i don't know the ending but it seems like he has to kill his wife and daughter's reincarnation for the 50th time or she'll kill him(the previous 49 before weren't strong enough)

its a really good read and if it ever became animated it would be #1 on my list of favourite anime Code Geass is #0 of course :) Thu, 12 Nov 2009 00:09:06 -0500 ~yamiric http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/63143/ No ending for this thread...
In every forum always ended with quarelling and left some mysteries
Maybe that's why this is the best anime I ever watched ^^
I prefer Lelouch died because it will be a better ending
But if Lelouch alive, then I wish for Code Geass OVA Sun, 08 Nov 2009 07:13:15 -0500 ~razenne http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/63143/ The ending was very sad The ending was very sad. i think he didn't die and he was with CC at the end Sat, 07 Nov 2009 08:11:25 -0500 ~bestguy1756 http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/63143/ I hated the ending, my friends told me it was shocking, but that was just retarded, not shocking. Sun, 18 Oct 2009 17:37:19 -0400 ~Davos http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/63143/ A friend of mine give me reason of why Lelouch could be alive, he joined the clan of C.C. because he fulfill part of the contract with her, of being loved again, if you remember that she said that. When C.C. had the contract with the nun and obtained the geass, the nun wanted to die or get killed or something involving death as her part of the contract,C.C. did that and become part of the Geass clan and got inmortal. And I think the same goes with Lettuce, I mean Lelouch xd. Or something like that D:
I really really really want to know C.C.'s name. I think it's great that they left a mystery at the end so we can guess what happened. But then again it is a little annoying because I want to know C.C.'s real name >D Thu, 17 Sep 2009 05:45:44 -0400 ~DamadelPuente http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/63143/ I liked the ending of the series, even if it made me kind of sad. I think it was awesome. And I think it was nice that the authors made the final scenes play out in a way that would keep fans guessing on wethner Lelouch was alive or not. I'm not sure if that was their intention, but it turned out like that, and it's good. CC's haunting lines at the end are so vague, they can go either way. Is she talking to a ghost, or to the person in the front of the cart? I don't really know. After learning of his sacrifice, I wish he was alive. But if he planned on faking his death, that takes a lot out of his final noble act, so, in my mind, he did plot his death, but just happened to survived by chance without really meaning to. So now he's left to live the rest of his life peacefully, away from everyone he's ever known ('cept maybe CC), but knowing that everyone, especially Nunally, will be alright.

Zero Requiem was a convoluted plan, but then again, most plans in Code Geass were. I mean, Lelouch since the beggining wanted a peaceful world for his sister, and his way of achieving it was instigating a war. I don't get it entirely, but in CG it seemed to make sense, so Zero Requiem seems like quite a logical plan in that universe. And it really made me respect Lelouch realizing that since the moment he stepped out of C's world and into the throne of Britannia, he had already decided he would die to make everything alright.

It's sort of sad that people won't ever know what Lelouch did for them and that he'll go down in history as a terrible tyrant. But then again, that was exactly what he wanted (so we shouldn't feel bad about that), and it's not like he was innocent (in the slightless). And Nunally did find out, and realized her brother wasn't that horrible, and that he really cared for her, which is probably more than enough. However, it's also quite hertbreaking when she cries and says that she only needed him, because it makes us realize what a great thing Lelouch did for her, and how incredible unnecesary was all of it. Unless until we rememeber their maniac of a father, but otherwise...

I do feel kind of really sorry for Suzaku, as he did seem to take the worst part of the deal. He had to kill his best friend of sorts, and kep on living with the guilt of everything he had done in the past, for which he felt quite horrible already, and all the suffering... And he seem alright with that. Despite all the psychos in the show, Suzaku is the one character who I'd heavily advise to get serious therapy.

Either way, I'm not against a third season of Code Geass, but I do hope that if they ever do one, they don't make a direct sequel of this one. These characters have gone through enough, and they deserve to be left alone. Sun, 13 Sep 2009 16:32:08 -0400 ~Allison244 http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/63143/ At the end of novel, lelouch is still alive. He travel with C.C.
I think this is a good end.I love lelouch and do not want him die. Sat, 12 Sep 2009 08:13:06 -0400 ~Syed http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/63143/ The ending, it was the best I ever saw! Even if it had ended with the 'death' of Lelouch, the developers certainly did not waste anything. They've put a tremendous effort into that last piece, the action, the words, the music, everything was there. The ending, it was a masterpiece!

That is not to say that I entirely agree with it. Yes, even if he died, the ending, no, the entire anime series was a masterpiece, but... it would be a perfect series if he did not dies.

Was the death of the protagonist an inevitable outcome? I doubt that. Indeed, the writer could have chosen another route, why not make Lelouch stay as The Emperor Of Justice, that is before he initiated the Zero Requiem, and it would end there, a cliche but happy ending.
To say that the writer should not take the route that leads to his death would mean that we are denying the writer his rights over his story, but with all respects, could he have take into account the opinions of us, the viewers.

But, I think it's all too late. A long time has passed since the series ended. And judging from the situation, it seems unlikely that the developers will make a sequel to this story. Though, even if the developers themselves declare that he is without a doubt, deceased. I would not submit to it! I would continue to believe that he is alive!

Now, I would like to voice out my opinions.

The death of the protagonist who was merely putting on a facade to the entire world, deceiving them into believing he was just another dictator vying for absolute power. Yet, behind that mask, lies a noble cause, to unify the world and eliminate all violence by directing all the hatred and blame towards himself, thereby facilitating peace.

It pains me to see all the other characters who know not of Lelouch's sacrifice living happily, these people, what have they gave for the peace that was achieved! What did they sacrifice for it! Nothing! Even if there was, the measure of it is meager compared to his sacrifice!

What did he sacrifice!? Many! He lost a great many friends and family, Shirley, Rolo, Euphemia, they all died! He faced many; troubles, dilemma, near insanity, all were present. He gave up the chance to live a normal life with his sister and instead set out on another path, all for the sake of the world. He had been betrayed by destiny, time and time again; he was forced to kill Euphemia, he discovered the evil truth about his mother whom he had thought to be an ideal mother, then he was ultimately forced to face his own sister Nunnally, whom he would never ever want to harm in any way or form! The list goes on...

Until Episode 25 : Re; where it all ends. Even after giving so much, why had fate still wanted to take more from him.

This is what it is, Tragic. For one who had suffered so much and given so many, fate still continued to mock him. To be a selfless hero who plays his part in his own tragic opera, and continue till the bitter end. This is the ultimate heroism I've ever seen.

Even if he is not the perfect hero, it is an allowed weakness. For someone who has had a sad childhoodlike him, plus his post-childhood life, it is understandable why he made the choices he made, some right, some were not. All in all, it was natural for a Byronic Protagonist to be so.

Nevertheless, Lelouch. You will always be the ultimate anime character of all time.

In Honour Of Lelouch Vi Britannia (2000-)(He still lives!!) The 98th Emperor Of Britannia, Formerly The Eleventh Prince Of Britannia, Seventeenth in line for succession,
Son To His Majesty Charles Zi Britannia The 98th Emperor of Britannia and his consort, Her Highness Marianne Vi Britannia The 98th Empress Of Britannia, Brother To Her Princess Nunnally Vi Britannia 87th in line for succession.

All Hail Lelouch!!
Long Live Lelouch!!
All Hail Code Geass!!
Long Live Code Geass!!
All Hail Lelouch!!
Long Live Lelouch!!
All Hail Lelouch!!

P.S Please bear with me if I were to be highly emotional with my post.

Sat, 22 Aug 2009 11:49:14 -0400 ~Atanvarno http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/63143/ The end was good.
Much better then in a DN )) Thu, 20 Aug 2009 22:36:32 -0400
