i read an article in an anime mag here in our country that anime like Death Note,Naruto and Bleach are anime that are accepted even by non-anime fans unlike animes like Air(?),Lucky Star and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. These anime are the anime that are loved by otakus(or rather these animes are the ones that attract otakus?). Well,regarding your question,maybe. But i think the people who watched Lucky Star before The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya can only answer that.

for the topic, for me, yes, yes it did. since lucky star was the very second series i watched since i started getting serious, and i didn't knew much anime then. kona-chan was my influence on watching haruhi.

You should know that Haruhi Suzumiya and Konata Izumi are both voiced by the same seiyuu, namely Aya Hirano. That's probably why they keep having references to each other. Same voice actress.

Lucky Star and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya are both made by Kyoto Animation and they recruited Aya Hirano as well. That's perhaps one reason for the similarity, but I think the similarities become more obvious in the "Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya" series on YouTube. There are several episodes where Haruhi acts totally like Konata with the 3 lips and _ _ eyes if you know what I mean. Episode 3 is a good example.

KyoAni has also gone ahead with the production of K-ON! but they have completely different voice actors and as far as I can tell, not that many references to Lucky Star or Haruhi, but from what I've gathered from all the stuff I've read on blogs, K-ON! and Lucky Star and apparently very similar, yet they don't have the similarities that link Haruhi and Lucky Star together, so it'll be interesting, at least for me, once I start watching, to see how they've made it so similar to Lucky Star.

Actually, i watched Lucky Star when a mate was watching Haruhi, i told him about a weird dance they made on the cosplay caffee and my buddy got so excited about it xD Hare Hare rocks!

I think konata don't like haruhi ,but i like luky star more than haruhi.both are my love.i like aya too.
