Would it not have been badass if Setsuna piloted his busted Exia throughout season 2?

It would really make the show look stupid however, that would be the biggest "BAD-ASS" gundam step i'll ever see since its creation,. i liked the concept of Setsuna having the -repaired Exia as his only MS and still running around and brawling against Masurao - Susanoo custom but it'll be only in dreams. wonder if they could make a side story for it.

I disagree. if setsuna had continued to use exia AND own it would've made the show look completely stupid. its bad enough that Aeolia had everyone beat with new mobile suits by like 100+ years. if they still cant improve enough 4 years after getting this huge boost in technology to beat a poorly cared for gundam thats half missing. . . .well it just wouldn't have been realistic in the least bit. plus if your gonna leave everything the same (ie. same gundams for the pilots) whats the point of the 4 year lag? i mean what have they been doing if they havent been improving?

I would have enjoyed the series much much more if that happened.

It would be rather challenging for Setsuna and his busted Exia to take out the Gadessa and other upgraded suits which are revealed in the series.

It would definitely look a lot badass and allow Setsuna to appear to have some skills, though it wouldn't make much sense for CB to not repair the damn thing.

To reply to the OP's post, yeah it would be totally badass if he piloted the Exia throughout Season 2. The cape, the eye, those were the makings of an awesome Season had they been kept. Add a bit of GAR to Setsuna's persona and voila the series just got that more awesome. Also, it'd be going towards a more Shounen genre as we are taught that if you put in guts and hardwork, it will always overcome technology.

Don´t forget the fact that Exia´s GN Drive is currently being used in the 00 Gundam.
Where Celestial Being will find another GN Drive to use it in Gundam Exia?
It will be nice see the exia in a final mission, fighting to restore the order once again in this uniffied world, but unlikely.

If he did pilot that messed up exia, that would be a great display of skill, but then something would be wrong if the whole group is still alive and no one fixes his gundam.

If setsuna piloted Exia in season 2, it would not be season 2 since exia will be instantly obliterated by the innovator's new suits, gadessa and garazzo. also, if you noticed, mr bushido is always going after setsuna and if setsuna did pilot exia, he would have been sliced by mr. bushido's custom ahead.

I think it would have been rather Shiro Amada-like if he had used Exia throughout all of Season 2. Come on, an underpowered suit takes on the Masurao now ... given it'd definitely take a lot of hits and Setsuna would have to improve to Shiro/Amura/Kira/Kamille -like piloting skills. Not to say he would win considering how Kira was entirely owned in the Strike-Freedom debut episode where he was piloting Strike-Rouge...but hey, there's something appealing about seeing a pilot win as opposed to his mecha--which is what Gundam 00 is seriously about, at least in my opinion.

Haha if he had done that he really would have been a Kamikaze soldier. I always wondered why they called the series Gundam 00 until they actually brought out 00. Exia looks like a baby if you compare it with 00. Looks like 00 but if smaller and weaker =p.

Um this is Gundam not Gurren Lagann haha, they seem to care a good bit about specs in this and I doubt that the Exia had any other big uber power secrets.

It would have been nicer if we saw a bit more of EXIA in its rundown state, I agree.. maybe 1 or 2 episodes of him having losing fights in it before returning to celestial being to get the 00 ^^

I'm not a big fan of 00's gn gunblades due to looks. I think they should give 00 a similar blade from Exia, because it's so badass.
