My PS2 trumps them all.

Too few games for the Wii are interesting, too many are carnival games that don't utilize the Wii's functionality effectively. If it weren't for Zelda, Super Mario Galaxy, Brawl, and Metroid then I would have left this console alone.

The 360 is full of too many of the same genre: FPSs, RTSs, 3rd-Person Action Shooters. Too much of the same sh*t, and Live is full of 6-year-olds who drop the F-bomb more often than a drunken sailor.

I actually like my PS3 despite the limited repertoire of games. Few like MGS4, Oblivion, Valkyria Chronicles, Killzone 2, and Evernal Sonata are just so awesome that they more than make up for the lack of good games at the moment. However, the PS2's library eats this one up without mercy.

My PS2 has Final Fantasy X, MGS2, MGS3, Tales of the Abyss, Okami, Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, Odin Sphere, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, and many, many more. All classics, all much more appealing.

PS3 cause of the Blu-Ray. I bought it when it first came out. If I had bought a XBOX 360 I would be stuck with a useless HD player.

The Sega DreamCast probably, because all of my best gaming memories are of games like:

-Tech Romancer
-Powerstone
-Sonic Adventure
-Gundam Side Story. . . the list goes on

Personally, I don't have deep knowledge of the current 3 consoles' hardware and game library that are on the market, but I'll try to give my best opinion on it.

I only have a Wii myself of those 3, and yes, while it may be the biggest one standing out among the love/hate stuff concerning the 3 consoles as far as original games go, it does offer for me some good fun and free online. I do enjoy playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl on it online sometimes even if it's not really living up it's overdose of hype from Melee in my opinion, it's still a solid multiplayer, and it does have a few good other games like Super Mario Galaxy, Wario Land Shake It and Mario Kart Wii, I also agree with GoldenApe's opinion on how there are very few possibly really good titles on it and that about 80% of all the Wii games only really appeal to old people into easy stuff and made with little to much content to it.

Over the 360, I don't know much about it, since I don't own one, but from all the stuff I see concerning different storage data versions, the games, and paying to get online with it, it would seem a bit too pricey for me, plus the only games from what I've seen that would interest me are Street Fighter 4, Grand Theft Auto 3 and Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, despite it's common negative reaction from the fanbase. The rest seem to me like it's majorly comprimised of FPS games, which aren't my most favourite genre.

And about the Playstation 3, while it does have everything a real big hardware-handling console could have, it's quite pricey, and there aren't any games of real paticular interest for me on it. (I'm not really a fan of Metal Gear Solid myself.)

Probably the Xbox 360, I hate in the console hardware wise though. It's loud, the first time I turned it on I thought I got a defect. Not to mention to the high rates of RROD, and the two months it takes to get back the console. But when it comes to consoles these days, it's more of what games would you get to play, Xbox 360 has more of what I want. If the PS3 was priced at around $300 when it was released and seem to have the games I want heading it's way, I'd own a PS3 right now. Take Metal Gear 4 out, and Final Final Xi: Versus out and I'll have a hard time thinking a reason why I would want a PS3.

But does it have to be a 3rd generation console? My best gaming experiences is with the PlayStation.

Mine probably has to be the DS, because it's so handy to have around and has a big variety of games.

Before that, it'd have to be the PSX or PS2. But I do love my Dreamcast and Wii, too!

I like having the ones I do now. Which means, of course, a little bit of everything. No matter how good something is, without variety, it tends to get dull. When it comes right down to it, I suppose having something is better than nothing, though, so if I had to choose just one of the consoles I have, I'd stick with the DS. I like that it's small and simple. I like that it's somewhat more interactive than just pressing buttons. I LOVE that I can have it with me anywhere so that no matter what I'm doing, if I come upon an unexpected period of boredom, I can play!

I take it everywhere, even when I never use it, because it makes me feel comfortable. It's my escape plan at the ready if I don't want to deal with something, if I get bored, if I'm stuck waiting on something, if I want to listen to music... and since I love RPGs, puzzles, and simulation games, I get a lot of use out of the game selection. Honestly, I don't know what I'd do without it. ^_^

Xbox 360 for sure. I'm a big RPG fan (especially Japanese ones) and other current consoles don't have many to offer. I wouldn't buy a PS3 right now just because of the price but maybe with time. I don't like the Wii though- I think it's lost so much of the Gamecube's and N64's fan base because of gimmicky games that appeal largely to children and soccer moms. I'll stick to consoles where I don't have to jump around my living room. My opinion though, so no offense intended.
(And speaking of which I'm really quite curious as to how Xbox's Natal will turn out.)

Xbox360, cuz usually i play on the Pc, but Xbox360 has some games like Halo 3 and Fable 2, what you can't get to pc.. Ofc there's games to ps3 what you can't get to pc, but on the X0 there's more games what i like to play..

I own a wii on account that i have 2 younger siblings and lack of money, but personally I prefer the Xbox. It has a nice balance between price and hardware, the LIVE arcade, great titles and the new hardware announced at E3

The Playstation 3 is the best console out there if you look at performance and possibilities (Blu-ray movies, PSNetwork). But Blu-Ray movies aren't that popular yet and the PS3 is just too expensive.
The Wii is something I don't even want to call a game-console anymore. It's just a Wii: a toy for old ladies. The amount of good, serious games on the Wii is something you can count on one hand, so it's nothing for gamers.
The Xbox 360 then is pretty much the winner here, because it's very affordable nowadays, got a great lineup regarding games and Xbox Live works very smoothly.

Personally though, I have no console at all. The main reason is that I don't have a TV, but it's also the fact that I can do everything on my PC already. Sure, I miss out on a couple of games, but the PC is (if configured right) still superior in graphics and power.

I would have to agree with you. I think the PS3 is the better system because of the BlueRay movies, the FREE Network play. The PS3 is very expensive but they are going to lower the price (eventually). The Nintendo Wii is terrible for REAL gamers. There aren't that many GOOD games out there for the Wii. I think PS3 needs to focus on what made them popular - JRPGs! THAT WOULD BE INCREDIBLE!

The XBOX360 is a great system as well, it's great for shooting games. and Multi-Player. I'm personally not a multiplayer kinda guy, but it is the front runner, and it makes great games. The only flaws with 360 is the hardware.

I still prefer the old Playstation One, it provided lots of different types of games. Alot of games these days are just graphical enhancements, I have the other consoles... so they can do many things but those things can be done by a basic Personal Computer.
And my side about WII, well... If I'm going to play baseball etc... I'd rather play the actual sport (Its not that fun as I prefer it to be)

PS3 gamers are illiterate. hahah! that's all I know from this page of the thread. I would say Microsoft and Sony consoles have truly done a great job in bringing in the Next Gen feel to us gamers. Truly blessed to see such grandeur such as high def graphics and kick ass games.
However, we are ripped apart, gamers as one choosing sides debating on the superiority of consoles. It saddens me. T_T

The xbox 360 is my favorite but only because the PS3 isn't programmed as well. Far too many bugs on the PS3 and not enough good games that are exclusive.
