Oi! What kind of question is this? Why are so many of you even entertaining the thought? [Nervous twitch] It is true that we cannot miss what we did not know, also that we will suffer severe withdrawl symptoms if our supply was to suddenly dry up. I have lived 23 years without anime. I prefer to continue my life with anime in it. Hence, I will not give this ghastly topic another thought.

It's probably depend on who you
ask the question. There is a pro and con
for not having anime in the world.
As much as I like anime I think that sometime
it can lead to some bad influence, such
as violence and nudity (especially lately).
The pro is that I think it can expand the
imagination of younger generation if watched
at a control rate.
Personally I wouldn't know what to do
the next day without the thought that I have
a new anime waiting at the end of the month!

What do you mean by your question exactly?That there used to be anime and (hypothetically) they just stopped existing or that they didn't exist from the very begining?
If the first, then I guess we would just stick to manga.(that's what I would do!)
If the second, then I'm sure people would have managed to occupy themselves with sth else as they did all these thousands of years!

Well, I’m pretty sure many countries would suffer economic repercussions, though nothing major, except maybe Japan. Lots of people would have one less hobby. There’d be noticeable difference in art from young people. Much animation of today is inspired, in big, or small ways, by the Japanese animation style. All in all, though, life would go on.
