And if you're interested in more BLAME!-universe manga the prequel to the manga is entitled NOiSE, the sequel is Net Sphere Engineer, both of those are one-volume works. Nihei has another series entitled Bioshock that occurs long before NOiSE and chronicles how the Megastructure came into existence. It's still ongoing but has like, twenty-seven chapters currently out. If you need help finding any just let me know and I can hook you up!

BLAME! needs more love but since it's so unconventional it doesn't have a mainstream following, but still it's great cyberpunk on the level of Ghost in the Shell.

You kind of need to read the manga before watching the OVA, otherwise it makes no sense and doesn't hold the same value.

Anyway, I'll have to wait a bit for the FMP DVDs to get here (ya know, netflix)
