Anime and Manga

It's an interesting anime that virtually has no male lead roles besides 1 or 2 characters it has crazy magical powers, summoned beasts but it isnt just about the action it also has alot of character development and interesting plot twists.

The story revolves around the HiME that atain powers from this magical blue star and they hold the fate to save or end the world as we know it. May sound a little cliche but it really is an interesting concept when things are fleshed out.

The story is great I thought the anime was awesome so out of 10 it would have to be a 9 due to one strange occurance at the end of the series but other than that it is a well recommended anime.

the rate i put is 8,5.

my prefer hime is natsuki.

I have all the anime serie, im now triying to get mai otome. I want too see the new himes and new rare personalities. lol

My-Hime was a very interesting show. It had some uniquness in it and in the end it wasn't all that great. I think it was because the main character being mai, was being very stupid near the end of the series. The transformations and animation was very cool. Just not the anime that was a must watch.

Mai-Otome is a completly different series. There is no connection between my-hime and mai-otome except for the characters, and the concepts of being a hime(transform and all that.) I found otome very much more interesting than hime because it was just cooler. It had more action, better plot almost everything was better especially the main character. I say give my-hime a watch and if you dont like it then dont really go with it. Mai-otome is very much different and I think many of you shoudl watch it especially if you have watched my-hime. I dont really rate animes but ill give my-hime an 7.5 and otome a 9.

Also, the best parts of both series was the music and the animation. Kajirua Yuki, has some of the best songs and they are nicely implemented in the anime.

both mai hime and mai otome are fun to watch. they are good anime and definatly recommended, though it's not likely to leave a big impression after you finish it. story is good, character development is decent, action is good.

i give them 8's, and personally i liked otome better, or maybe it's just cuase otome's more fun.

I gave it 8 point It was great anime, and I recommended this title for ya. BTW it called Mai-HiME not My-HiME, Coz it used kanji "MAI" (Dance), and romaji HiME (Highly-Advance Material Equipment).

The music was great too. thank to Kajiura Yuki for that. For the character I prefer Chizuru, I like the way she talk. And my Favorite Episode was the top 5 last episode, it was....touching.

And for Mai-Oto-HiME, mmm.......... I'm not realy like it, but it worth to watch But I like the 2nd opening song, Crystal Energy, by Kuribayashi Minami. and also when I saw the 2nd Op scene I have strange feeling that the scene similar to Gundam Seed Destiny Op. Hmmm..... maybe it was just for me

The last, after ya saw all the episodes, the read the manga also. Coz it have diferent story. In this Manga the main character was Tate Yuji not Tokiha Mai.

Mai-Hime was really fun cuz its very different and the storyline and all is very interesting... I especially like how the characters develop and the music was really good too so out of 10 I would give Mai-Hime a 8.5. I recommend that you watch it cuz then you could watch Mai-Otome even though it really has no connection but its really fun!

It is my favorite anime. It does have it's lacking parts, of course.

Give it around 8.5 as well. At first I thought it was a lil-girl school-girl anime, but after the first 5 mins on the first episode I was hooked. Interesting plot-twists though characters get u frustrated (most of the time in a love/hate way). If you can get frustrated with a character yet it keeps drawing you in, its a nice kind of frustration :)

I am having trouble deciding to get this anime, and I heard that this anime is pretty good, but I have to know that I am making the right decision. I like the character designs and I want to know how good the story is.

On scale to 1 to 10 what do you rate this anime? Thanks. u kidding me...............? recommended? made a right choice? omg! it is not just about how good it is...but it is my all time favourite, i watched them both twice!, characters design is good, graphic is awesome, storyline, needless to say....it is hell awesome..i didnt stop watching, just watched non stop till it finishes, if u ask me to give a point, i would give 9.0-9.5....it is not that i over rated, just that, every1 has their own decision and taste for anime, it applies for me as well, which i have chosen mai hime, otome, as my all-time favourites, animes...in the beginning, nothing special, in the middle part, u just cant stop watching...just wanna let u noe...mai hime and mai otome has no connection, just the characters...they are the same, but different roles, but they r both complicated, mai hime is an anime which students summon their own "child", but mai otome, the students, change themselves into "attacking mode/fighting mode", it is defined as robe, in the anime...have fun watching itttttttttt~~~~*

Are you kidding, I loved them both (Otome more than HiME for plot reasons). The thing I liked about HiME was its less than stellar beginning. I know that sounds weird but hear me out. Both series do really good jobs hiding hints toward the main plot, which doesn't really start going until the later episodes. I mean the second time I watched the series I found alot of things that were hidden like stuff going on in the background, certain phrases, stuff like that. To tell the truth Otome's ending didn't please me alot since there were alot of new characters who go like absolutely no screen time (like Maya, Sara, Ahn, Rosalie, Laura, Carla).

Anyway I'd recommend watching HiME before Otome since Otome doesn't really do a good job explaining the HiME character's relationships. Also in a way they aren't connected but they are, especially if you read into the ending of Otome.

mai hime's great... you should watch this anime. rate 8

Anyway, go for Mai-HiME. The amount of drama in the later part of the series is to die for.

After that, if you want, you can try Mai-Otome.

Story-wise, I like both of them but if I had to pick then I'd pick Mai-HiME. In hindsight, you might want to watch Mai-HiME first. Although HiME doesn't have anything to do with Otome, I'd watch HiME to get to know the characters. Watch Otome after and enjoy. Both of them are great series in my opinion.

Mai HiME and Mai Otome were both excellent. The drama in Mai HiME was amazing, and Mai Otome also had a lot of drama. The endings to both series were major disappointments, and it's what makes these two anime great instead of excellent.

Mai Hime is realli good...the plot twists are incredible. I would give it an 8.5ish. The characters are beautifully drawn and the music is awesome.

I would give Mai-Hime a 7.5. The story was great, the turning of events from the beginning to the end was surprising, the theme song for the opening and ending was perfect and it was a great series to enjoy. The battles with each unique hime was amazing and kool ^_^. Majority of ppl say this series is more enjoyable than Mai Otome but i'm not convinced yet until i watch it myself. Almost done downloading it. I didn't get hooked to this series alot compared to other series i watched but it was still enjoyable.

10, definitely a 10! u wont regret it...at first, the series is jus humor, then starting on ep 8, everything gets soo good. soo many twisted turns l8r on. theres time wen i just wanted to reach into my computer screen and kill someone. but ull find urself glued to the screen...i literally finished the whole anime in 2 days.....never regreted watching it at all, in fact, i l8r gave my otome a try too. lol, but i still think my hime is better. =D

Plot is good and nice. I've only watched Mai-hime and I think it's good. I dunno about Mai-otome though. Recommended to watch. Ending was weird but tolerable. The pairing were a little off track from what I've wanted but I guess it's tolerable as well. hated the YURI there though. Still, it's nice.

i love mai-hime!!!! its 1 of my fav animes & it has everything u can look 4....da OP & ED & music by Yuki r xcellent....i'd definitely recommend it xD
