I agree with Ivynwater. Besides, I have the most bloated conscience in the world. I couldn't just go around killing people like Light did, criminal or not.

Wow, really interesting topic! To be honest, I'd be like Light at first, trying it out and seeing if it was real. Supposedly I figure it does work. Then I'd get rid of it. Because I guess the way I was taught, I have no right to be the judge of these things. And I'm a big advocate of L even though I understand Light. I think anyone using it would go out of control eventually just like in the anime. It's just too much power for anyone to have

If I would find a note, anywhere, I problably wouldn't even take it... But, if I did, I guess I would try it out, just to see if it works.

i would use it to help the world and also use it for some personal gain, but not the way light did.

well I probably wouldn't consider it to be really "working" whatsoever. so I guess, I'd never use it since I would never believe it really has the power to kill people. But IF I found out, that it was in fact real, I'm pretty sure that I'd destroy it somehow. Having such a mighty and cruel tool in my hands would kind of scare the hell out of me ... >_>

If I found a death note I would probably use it. Not like Light did to kill criminals, but only for my own purpose. Then again, my opinion could change when I really find one. I think the doubts come with the chance to use it.

Burn it. I don't think I'm in any state of mind to believe I can control someone's life. It's really scary when you think about it. D:

I guess the entire concept of Death Note is to show that the power to kill would corrupt anyone who attempts to use it regularly. i wonder what would have happened if Light did manage to prevail against Near and the police agencies though. would the world really become peaceful? doesn't that just mean people can get away with crimes as long as no one finds out about it? Watching Death note though... i seriously don't get why Light killed Lind L Taylor, why he changed the timing of the killings when L proposed Kira was a student and why he killed raye penber before the other agents. basically that narrowed down Ls list of suspects from population of the earth to about 8 people being investigated by raye Penber. That being said, i'm definitely not as smart as Light and the anime wouldn't have worked if that didn't happen.

Oh, one more thing. i would check if i can use it to kill my neighbours super annoying dog that won't stop barking at every living thing that moves within 10 metre radius of their house.

Helping the world? Wow... I don't know if I could bring myself to kill anyone... that aside, if I really thought about it, and put away certain feelings then I can definitely use a Death Note to 'help the world' not as Light did though. I wouldn't kill every criminal and I won't kill people that I disliked. That's just not like me... that wouldn't be right. I mean, imagine using it on someone like Osama Bin Laden or something of that nature. I mean, I would probably feel really guilty about doing it because I'm still killing a human being, but at the same time isn't that bringing someone to justice? In any case, I'd probably not use it that much and destroy it so that it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. Also, at the core of it all, who am I to judge anyone on the planet? To have the Death Note and suddenly denote myself to be God is just crazy. I would consider myself crazy for doing such and thing and would never do it. I'm an imperfect being... only the one, true God can judge us, because He is without sin. And that's just what I believe.

I would hope I would never find one because if I did I would use it without a doubt. There are some people that do things to children that are absolutely deplorable, and if they ever broadcast the person's face trying to find the child or worse.. after.. there would be no holding back.
