What!!!You planned to make the precious tarot cards as bookmarks?:)I will kill you for sure.:)If anyone know anything about tarot card,please tell her about it.I don't want her to spoil the cards.

My sister got herself one set too during her birthday. I don't know more about it since most of them say they can somehow predict things. But, for sure not to use it as bookmark

er, you can use the tarot cards even without the minor arcana. although your prediction could be, er, fuzzy. using the minor arcana would provide a more detailed version of the major arcana. using the major arcana isn't bad but i prefer using it with the minor arcana to fill in the gaps and loopholes. :):)anyway, it isn't really difficult to use tarot cards. i've been using them since, er, 5 years old i think and most of my predictions come true. but they're really silly things like if i'd pass my exams, etc. :):)just be careful okay? because of those silly cards, my third eye got opened and i see all these creepy, icky things around me.:):)and don't use them that often. use them only when it's necessary. our family has this pyschic thingy in our blood and we could do fortune telling using cards (hey, my brother even uses plain playing cards). it kinda drains our energy. dunno why though...

She's right about the third eye thing. You need to be cautious when learning to read them...it really helps if you have someone who's experienced in reading them to help you along, in case anything creepy that you can't handle comes along. :):)For the most part you shuffle them while thinking of a question [whether or not you let other people shuffle them when you read for them is up to you and your cards: some decks can't stand being touched by other people, while others don't mind it] and lay them out [I'm still learning the proper way to do this] and read into what the cards tell you. :):)Even if you don't know the exact meaning of each card it's okay because eventually each of the meanings of the cards will be slightly different depending on what you interpret and what they tell you they mean...you'll see that after a while they have a personality of their own, which is why you should always treat them with respect and dignity.:):)I'm begining to learn to read them myself and I'm very lucky to have a teacher who's been reading them since she was a little kid. She passed down to me her Crowley Thoth deck which is a rather difficult one to read but I'm starting to understand it bit by bit...

to reesha: :):)i suggest you start on the most basic lay out first, the 3 card one. the first is usually the past, the second is the present and the third, the outcome of the effect of the past on the present. or it could also be, the first card is the person or whatever, the next card is the conflict and the third is the outcome. it's always like that since it's the simplest. :):)after that, i think you could proceed to the more complex ones like the v-shaped. although you have to master the 3-card lay first. the horseshoe or the v-shaped is quite a more complicated reading of the 3-card. :):)i use the 10-card celtic cross since it's more accurate but more complicated. hehe

You know very well that if you are seriously into it you're not just playing with a deck of cards. It can be as disasterous as allowing children to play with Ouiji boards [which I honestly think should NEVER be sold as toys, although they still are]:):)I suppose it depends on what you believe in...people who tend to not beleive in paranormal things tend to not see strange things or have odd experiences as a result of dealing with these cards. Then again, things happen: a friend of mine on a bet went into a graveyard a few weeks ago and took a ouiji board to open a portal and then proceeded to curse off and dare any evil spirits to hurt him. Some other friends videotaped the whole thing [from a safe distance] and when they replayed the tape afterwards there were dancing lights all around him [lights that actually made lights and shadows on his skin, so they knew it wasn't something messed up with the camera] that he didn't see at all when he was reading his list of insults. Afterwards all of us [his closest friends] saw or heard strange things at night in our rooms untill he went back and closed what he opened. :):)Wow I just went off on a HUGE tangent...:):)But I understand you were trying to explain that Tarot cards aren't necesarily inherently evil...I'm just from the school of thought that even if you don't beleive these things you shouldn't go out of your way to ****them off...just in case.

Ah, the sweet Tarot... I've been banned from using them as a child, started using them again, was banned again, and got them back in exchange for information. Heh, I always warn everyone for whom I do them for or have them work with me on them: with me, it's always true. :):)Tarots are... rather interesting. I myself have come to see things I'd rather not see, as well as feel things I'd rather not feel. Heh, through the Tarot, I've come to realise many of my <gifts< are actually there - that am not crazy when I see my Shadow running around my walls, then staring at me from the door (which its' actually doing now.) :):)Oh, and M. Asher, its not a choice if one is able to see the monitor bleed, or see/feel/speak Spirits in general. It's a choice to stop from seeing them (blocking in other words), but you don't have a choice in getting the opportunity - you're either born with it or not, heh. Besides, THEY come to YOU, not YOU come to THEM. YOU open yourself THEM, but THEY show themselves when THEY are ready, heh.

Oh, I'd be more worried about a ghost trying to kill you, heh. I've been attacked by several of them already (like that damned - literally - Stitch doll)... I've had a few Shadows trying to get me by my own family, but thankfully, my Shadow was able to fend them off.. It's fun, but scary as hell sometimes, especially if one wakes up in the middle of the night to see their hand isn't exactly their own, heh.:):)For the most part, Spirits aren't evil... I just have a tendency to attract them (oh joy? heh) They are funny, though, like when Will o' Wasps suddenly appear and run into the wall - it's like, <Um.. dude.. wtf? ahah<:):)Ooo, was wondering, to those who use Tarot, what Decks do you have? Am a proud owner of <Tarot of the Old Path< deck.

to reesha: :):)there are ACTUALLY people who could open your third eye, people like my grandmother. sometimes, third eyes can be inborn [just like in the case of my brothers] but in my case, my third eye was closed when i was born, so someone had to open it up. :):)i had asked to have my third eye opened just so i could read tarot cards more accurately. spirits sometimes help me with the prediction.:):)don't worry, it's not a real problem if your third eye got opened. spirits, most of them, won't show themselves to you if you're afraid of them or whatever. in my case, i already got used to them. :):)and your third eye opening depends on how you would use your tarot cards. if you're just going to use them for, well, just for fun, your third eye wouldn't be that... er, that opened [is that even the right term?] :):)to hybride::):)yeah, we both have same experiences here. i attract spooky, creepy, icky things as well! anyway, i'm the owner of several tarot cards [mostly anime ones given to me by my eccentric uncle] but i use the rider-waite. it's actually my favorite deck. and the major arcana of vision of escaflowne. it's really nice to see folken as the emperor.:)

I've got the <a href='http://www.astroamerica.com/t-toth.html' target='_blank'>Alister Crowley Thoth Deck</a> The page shows some examples of what the cards look like. Basically every deck does have a bit of a personality of it's own, with each type of deck and each individual deck. The artists who create each of the decks obviously have to have some kind of sense and understanding of the tarot, and through the creation of the deck they put a little bit of themselves and their own personalities into the deck, in a sense. So different decks will read in different ways, and respond to different situations in different ways. They're different on an individualisitc level because the way you read them combined with the deck's own way of communicating creates something new, you see?:):)My deck's got a bit of an attidude to begin with, though I'm thankful that these were designed before Crowley went insane _ Most decks aren't specifically malignant, though a friend of mine who's been reading since she was young said she did come across one deck that asked her to anoint the cards with her own blood before they would read for her...needless to say she didn't. And neither would I... I do have special oils to consecrate the decks though...they help you concentrate, and even if you don't beleive they do it smells very nice xD

Ba! I'd rather live my life in peace then have to live with seeing weird stuff floating around. It'll absolutely ruin all the romantic moments in life...
