multiple personalities is not like a little change in you personality....it a complete change. you are pretty much 2 or more people. youll go from one to the other and you would know for sure if you had it. if youve seen Me Myself & Irene with Jim Carey, his charcter has that disease i think, not sure but its pretty close. (this is not a 100% accurate so if anyone has a more indepth answer.....feel free)

im pretty sure that each personality is unaware of the other so would wouldnt beable to enjoy it cause you wouldnt know. you must have an extremely minor case or something else.

It's not a disease - it's a disorder. And it's not called multiple personality disorder anymore - the recent terminology for it is dissociative anxiety disorder because it is in the class of anxiety disorders (like Phobias, etc.) There has only been very few cases documented and almost all are entirely in the US. Your sense of self splits (most often only one other personality) because of something traumatic that has occurred in the past. When that traumatic experience occurred (such as child abuse, etc), the present personality cannot handle the situation and thus, a new personality is created or splits from the present one. The two selves may or may not know that each other exists. I belive one of the treatments is that the two selves are merged to form a new personality. The most famous case was Sybil with I belive 18 personalities.

Please try not to self-diagnose - it doesn't work. It's not that simple - there are many psychological tests, assessments and consultations first before anything is diagnose.

HA, my mom thinks its bi-polar. Its a fun disease. Have I got it right? You sincerely think mental illnesses are fun? From what deluded cave were you dug up from, might I ask? My fathers bipolar and just to give a short story, when he flipped, he almost tore my head off because I couldn't decide in what manner I wanted my eggs to be cooked. Multiple personalities is even far worse as the afflicted are often disoriented of time and place jumping from one "side" to another. I highly suggest reading in on the topic before making claims and starting a discussion.

I agree with renegaecow. Mental disorders are serious and you should take it seriously. I saw a documentary about a woman who had foreign accent syndrome. It's a mental disorder when you speak you suddenly speak in a different accent. The woman became really upset becuase most of her friends started thinking differently about her. This might have the same effect on other diseases such as the "multiple personality disease". I hope you understand.

My aunt has that, or. . . she's a schizo (I'm qouldn't joke about it), she even tried to kill my mother not one, but two times. But I think that is about the same thing, right?

ever heard of Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder(HPPD)? It may occur when you use LSD or similar stuff, their minds qill partly stay in the trip. . . for the rest of their lives and constantly have mirages and other creepy things. Pretty scary, wonder if it's real or just some hypocondric babble

Oh yeah, about you. You're probably just imagining like the other 90% of thoose claiming to suffer from that kind of disorder
