yea its tough but it depends on waht your doing. Im working 9-6, 5 days a week and juggling 2 night classes on top of that. I dont have much time for anime except on weekends. I enjoy keeping myself busy in the summers so for me I dont really mind. If I wasnt working or taking classes then I would probably get bored of watching anime all day.

Summer work is tough but it isn't good for your health to always sit on a couch and watch anime. A litte work is OK, but too much isn't good either.

I work 6 days a week with on Saturady off. Monday-Friday 9-5 but have to leave 1 hour and 15 minutes early to catch the bus. Same for going home.

What countries give summer work? I know Japan does (or atleast I get that impression from about 100 anime's I've seen) but other than Japan, do any other countries? As far as I know, nowhere in the US (except maybe private school) gives over-summer work so I just don't know where it's coming from. I'll never have to balance school with work (Not working untill after college) but if I had school work during the summer I'd probably just kill myself and get it over with (That is how much I like school work)

I don't get any summer homework, but I've friends in the humanities faculty who get a pile of books to read each time we have a break, so i think it is fair since they have a lot of free time during the semester. >_<"

meh, my dad pulls this summer work sh!t on me, even if its not school, i still pull my 'nads there (or used to) 5 days a week, because "im becoming a mature adult". guess what tomorow im telling him i quit. im sick of having to work my ass off, yet i know my future will require me to work even harder, but yet, as of right now i coudnt give a damn, im tiered im sweaty, and i think there's something under my bed. I wanna enjoy life while i can because after this, il get to go work at a dead-end job, and have to get out there. which is something im never in the mood to do. so thanks im thinking of quitting.

Hehe, that's what everyones working their asses off for in school.

The few positive things about this country( the Netherlands) is school, it's easy, no homework in the summer, although the negative thing about this is, that the education is just low-level.

The only thing i really need and want to do is improve my cantonese, and study piano, which is actually my summerjob, this weekend 2 concerts = €300

The school it is finished for me!! ^^

waterloo co-op ftw. but school is so garbage. but yeah paying for tuition is hard. thank god for anime!

ahh I had to take summer school so that totally took up most of my summer... but i still manage to find time to watch anime and read manga X3 and my last 2 weeks of summer I'm working, which I'm actually looking forward to =)

ugh ... seeing this thread ... reminds me about my current summer work, i had to build an OpenBSD based network router and then i had too analize it and make a full report .... >_< and up untill ow i just finished building it ... now all i had to do is analyze it and write a full report and then print it and publish it in my local campuss ..... >_<

I think that Summer work is a good thing to keep up with the materials learned. Without it many students would just forget all what they learned during holidays (it happens to me sometimes). So it is a good thing to study during holidays.

Personnally, I think that it is quite funny to study during holidays, it breaks the routine somehow :) It makes you enjoy studying during free time :)

For me, I work in a factory which produces blocs to build houses, it is so boring!

But I need this money for my studies.....cruel world!
