Hmm, well, my best way of falling asleep is not giving a damn on what time it is. I used to have a problem with falling assleep in the daylight because I didn't want to stay up that late and it used to make me anxious. Just think that it doesn't matter and try to relax.
The thing with this is that it's a mindset and takes awhile to develop, but it's really helped me.
That being said, how is it that you have problems sleeping?

Hmm...Ah, I've tried most of these, since I suffer from insomnia at times. XD 1. Don't use your bed for other activities: don't lie in it while reading or doing homework, etc. Use it only for sleep so that your brain and body will come to associate it with sleep alone. 2. Before going to sleep, don't do anything strenuous - it takes the body a while to unwind, you see. It helps to have a hot bath or to just sit down in a comfortable chair and watch TV or read for a while before sleeping. 3. Hot milk...Yeah, it works. :) (Just make sure to go to the bathroom... XD) And avoid any caffeinated drinks (tea, Coke, coffee) about six hours before sleeping. 4. Don't eat too big a meal before sleeping - it might make your stomach ache and keep you up all night. 5. Limit your naps; make your sleeping times regular. You won't be able to sleep well if one day you go to sleep at six and wake up at six, and the next day go to sleep at four in the afternoon and wake up at one in the morning. O_o 6. And...don't think too much while waiting to drop off to sleep. If you worry or think about something too much, it will usually keep you awake.
Hope those help. You could see a doctor, I guess, but maybe you could try those first. :) And I think the older you get, the less amount of sleep you need...Maybe that could be it as well. (Don't know how old you are, so I beg your pardon...)

Avoid going to bed straight after being on a computer or watching TV. That sort of light in your eyes can keep your brain alert. Lavender is meant to work well but not everyone likes a strong smell up their nose. I have a herbal tea as it has no caffine and warmth calms you down.

well i read somewhere... that music/tv is bad. (lights/sounds make it difficult for the brain to relax) they say reading is better to do right before you fall asleep.
i guess im a rebel... i like to watch tv before i go to sleep. LOL! well.. its the easiest way for me to catch some Z's. also.. i would exercise before bed... then take a shower. so my body would be exhausted and then i'd be nice and toasty from my shower. let my body relax and not think about n e thing icky. honestly... since i do most of what's no recommended.. i think you're just gonna have to find what relaxes you. maybe its drawing... maybe its reading... maybe its some sit-ups. something to get your mind off of the stresses you have every day. :D i really like to be warm... so i have a ton of blankets on top of me too. so.. make sure you're at the right temperature! i hope you can get some sleep.. cause i know what its like. :) best of luck and keep us posted. ^.^

Try not to drink coffee or anything with caffine before u sleep , and don't take naps during the afternoon no matter how sleepy u may be in the daytime. Do lots of physical exercise during the day and get urself active. When u goto bed , if u think alot of stuff , for example .. planning out what u are gonna do the next morning , write it down on a piece of paper so u won't keep reminding ur self mentally and it will keep u away from thinking and ur brain will goto sleep eventually. Blackneko , do u have a job or do u goto school ? If you have neither , then ur problem can be solved by either doing one or both. If u have either one , try getting a second job , tire u out more while getting more cash and puts u to sleep , thus solving ur problem . That's a 2 in one deal man.

I have a natural way. Place your head against the wall, pull back and then release.
Next thing you know, it'll be morning.
If you think 14 hours in a week is bad, try 9 hours in a week. That wasn't a fun week, I can tell you.
If you have insomnia, like me, best thing to do is to keep your mind really busy and keep a natural ambience around you. Make it so that when you close your eyes, there is still a small amount of light.
I started doing this, first, with my desktop lamp. I eventually switched to leaving the TV and computer monitor on. I've noticed a big difference when doing this, for instance, instead of 3-4 hours to actually achieve sleep (while laying on my bed) it takes normally less than 2.
Keeping your mind busy is the key as well. It'll wear you out faster than you think.

Two things I can think of, if you are just laying there unable to sleep. Grab a book that is really dense in language or topic and give it an honest effort to decpher it. That should have you yawning in no time. Or call up a partner and get some boot knockin going on. After a good session, I always fall right asleep, much to the dismay of any pillow-talkers ;)

a good idea is to go out and do some excercise during the day, do something that would tire you out, then make sure that your window blinds are closed to not let the sunlight in during the morning.

I try listening to some soft soothing music. Not rock or anything like that. It'll just keep you awake longer. Aromatherapy might help... some fragrances will relax you and help you fall asleep easier. Warm milk... Can't say that works for me, it just makes me more alert... from the burning of my tongue... I once read in a dream analysis book that if you clear your mind and then imagine a place where you can get totally relaxed will help you to sleep easier. It worked for me until I got so worn out with school I just fell asleep right away.

I know how you can easily fall asleep! Sleeping tablets^^ Easy solution to no sleep sickness. Purchasable at the pharmacy but just make sure you read the directions. Or you can always try staring at the wall or out the window for a while and before you know it, you're daydreaming and the next, you're asleep. lol. Just make sure you're somewhere soft so you don't hurt yourself when you drift off to sleep ;)
Also, I heard it is easier to go to sleep if you change your sleeping position once in a while. Sleeping constantly in the same spot can be for some people, be less comfortable and making it more unlikely to sleep. So make sure, you are comfortable where you want to fall asleep. XD
Oh, and if you are around sleepy people, it's contagious... I think. It happens to me though. When someone yawns in my class, I tend to want to yawn too. < y A w N. > You might want to try this too. Good luck sleeping^^

First I want to know why you can't sleep? Pressure, fear or something else.... have a glass of milk or listen to soft music before you go to sleep maybe helpful. Once I had got insomnia, I try to do not think about anythings in my mind. Wish you will have a good dream tonight.^^

eh..... go do something ? if you can't really sleep, it's probably a waste of time to just lie there...... so go do something, and perhaps you will get tired and finally be able to go to sleep......

if you are a true insomniac just stay awake until a certain hour and create a routine to sleep! everyday the same so your body recognizes this action -is kinda of similar on how you train dogs-
btw lettuce, milk, camomile tea are good things that help sleep! also a good rest -what people said of going tired to bed is bad!!- also if you watch tv or read and you feel relaxed! take a shower -or meditate, something- as it is bad for the brain since you estimulate with light! to sleep after you watch tv!
many of you will say that you go to bed after TV the difference is that if you have no problem sleeping you first start blinking and relaxing little by little, while a true insomniac doesn't know what is that! he needs to feel tired or relaxed and then maybe turn off the tv or something and then sleep! is just not the same since brain activity is not slowed!
the ones that like music you should be careful is not as bad as light you can get used to it but it may cause you not to have a deep sleep and not achieve rest -this I read on the seven stages of sleeping there is one that is rest! i don't remember the details so do a google on that-

Is it insomnia? I used to have the same problem as you XD Try to avoid tea or coffee, beacuse it will make you stay awake at night. According to the article I read in the newspaper, having a glass of milk will relax you Make sure you don't stress yourself too much... If you still can't sleep, try to sleep in another room. A new atmosphere sometimes can be helpful...

Don't worry, you're not the only one. It's super hard for me to get sleep too. -_-'
Here are 12 ways to sleep better that i searched in google. :P Hope it helps!
* Wind down prior to bedtime * Do not smoke (nicotine is a stimulant) or consume caffeine * Try warm milk or a light snack before bed (if this doesn’t interfere with another treatment you are using) * Exercise daily, but not right before bedtime * Take a warm bath, but not right before bedtime * Keep a regular bedtime and rising time * Get in the habit of going to bed when you are sleepy and sleeping where you sleep best * Reserve your bed for sleeping only * Don’t have any clocks visible to you * Reduce the amount of time you allow yourself to sleep until you fall asleep easily (your health care provider can help with this form of “sleep restriction therapy” * Schedule worry time during the day and put worries out of your head when it is time to sleep; you can write them down on 3×5 cards, and then let go of them * Get up if you have not fallen asleep in 15 minutes and practice a relaxing activity (e.g. handwork, reading a boring book) until you feel sleepy

If you can not sleep, try reading a physics ext book. If that still does not work, I guess you could always just masturbate, and in a moment, you should be sleeping pretty well.
