At the moment I'm saving money for my first models and yes you're absolutely right about their expensive prices (I need around $250 for the models I want and around $60 for shipping costs), but I think it's worth it. The 1/8, 1/7 and 1/6 scale models are so highly detailed that you just gotta love them. Right now my preference goes to the models of the companies Kotobukiya and Max Factory.

RESIN > PVC

I dunno, the feel of the product painted and made in resin just feels much better in quality when you take a good look at it. Even though the PVC models are improving in terms of details and color, the shading aspect and the effects paints can do is a whole another story.

I also like pvc models. I'd like to start getting a few, but I don't know if I'd be taking my anime addiction to a different level that would further thrust me into the realm of geekdom. Furthermore, the pieces I like are a bit...much to have sitting around on my desk, lol. Take a look at the one by Yamashita Shunya that I want to buy :P

Damn, do I really want this sitting around on my desk to have to explain to company, lol? But I do love it!

HI!! ok so heres the "scoop" I've been obsessing over PVCs since the summer and I realized that its a really expensive hobby~

I recently bought a Black Dress version of Saber from Fate/Stay Night and Hikaru from Piece@Pieces.

I find that buying the larger 1/8 ones are more expensive than the little ones such as the chibi gundam series or king of fighters series. I love how the larger ones have magnificent details and such wonderful colour. There is this set I bought of figures and its from the King of Fighters series and the detail and clothing is just awesome!! It wasn't that expensive either. But beware to those who are plannign to take on this hobby..its expensive and you gotta have a place to put them HAHA~ Also, my boyfriend yelled at me many times for "wasting" money to buy these but I mean theyre just so pretty and how can you just not get them HAHA

Anybody else here who likes PVCs or has comments about it??

I love those PVCs!! I have a few of them. I have Urd, Hild, Peorth and Sigel from Ah! Megami-sama, Riza Hawkeye and her little dog, Black Hayate (Full Metal Alchemist) and Kazami Mizuho (Onegai Teacher). I also have a figurine of EVA 02, made of metal. I'm planning to buy Belldandy (Ah! Megami-sama) and Katsuragi Misato (Evangelion) in the near future. I would have to cut down on my animes though ^_^,

if only they weren't so friggin expensive... Yeah. But some of them are really worth the price. They are very detailed and just knowing that you own it make all the difference. Whenever I get one I'm happy for the whole day no matter what happens. I absolutely love it.

Not really. It's only $35. It isn't the price that's stopping me, its the other things I had mentioned, hehe.

Ah, I meant company (as in friends) that came over to my house and saw that on my desk. Yeah, I think I'll go ahead and buy it, and maybe stick it on the bookshelf above my desk, the side against the wall. That way, only the person sitting at the desk can see it if they look up, lol.
