yes I can and I do that always.... I always listen music if I reading, working, eating, gym, walking, etc... I love Music!!!!!

I always listen to music, when I study or read a book or anything really.

It doesnt really alter my concentration, I actually find that it helps me narrow my focus down alot XP

For me....OK la~!!! (~_~) i can listen music while reading~ (^ 3^) but if i want to listen music carefully or more....i don't know how to say... i can't concentrate to read manga.... :|

I can't do anything without some sort of ambient noise. Just a habit I picked up I guess. I can actually read better when in a room full of noisy people as well ^^.

No, I don't listen to music while I read manga. It's because I want to concentrate on reading and understanding the storyline rather than multitasking. I can't appreciate the music I am listening to if I am doing something else and I can't follow the story that good if I listen to some music at the same time. So I just do it one at a time. :-D

i can... actually i can do two things simultaneously without any problem... XD (just sometimes i feel that my head is going crazy and it makes me cranky...)

I actually find it hard to listen to music while reading anything. If there are words to the song, I get the urge to sing along, and when I do that I can't read, type, or write. But if it's music without lyrics, I can read just fine. Right now I'm listening to a song from Flashflashrevolution.com called EternuS. No that is not an error in the name. It is basically techno music but classified as Epic Trance. I can hum to it easily. But there are 5 lines of lyrics and I have to pause my reading, typing, or writing to sing them. It's weird.

i usually listen to music whenever i'm in front of my computer... on the computer, first to do is open winamp. my playlist has various kind, jpop, jrock.... mostly all from anime

Unfortunately, no. I have to concentrate pretty hard to hear myself think over the music in the bookstores a lot of times, so I generally try to go when they're not playing music. When I'm at home I have to do one or the other. Can't seem to pull off reading the heaps of dialogue while simultaneously listening to some tunez. :=[

I can listen to music while doing mostly anything. So listening to my mp3 player while reading is no big deal. I guess for some people it's hard, but everybody's different.

I think the players and manga's plot similar to the rhythm of music is the best. However, we can not always able to find the right music So I read manga will take some elegant music

I always put on tunes to drown out the sound of cars and people normally i just listen to ost`s of Samurai champloo and naruto and also J Rock depending on the mood the music just ads to the effect of being in the story for me .

The answer: Yes, I can do that,... but I don't do it very often. That's part of my habit. Sometimes I think that certain themes that I listen to while reading certain types of Manga fits into the scenery of it....

I always listen to music, in the train, while I am reading a manga or a book, or when I'm playing games. Often its a Soundtrack (Motion Picture Soundtracks and Anime Soundtracks also) but I do also listen to albums or singles or whatever I want. I can't stand it when everything around me is quiet while I read or learn for school xD my parents don't get it when I listen to fast, loud songs and learn for a class test xD

Um..... when I read manga, I can listen to music if I what... but then I won't be actually listening to the music (you know, getting into the beat and actually listening to the song) because I'm reading manga, and I want to know what happens in the manga.... ^_^

Sure I can, I can totally, do two things at the same time, especially, if they use different senses like vision and hearing. and besides, if i get really into reading the manga the music go through one ear and out the other anyways, so, no big deal.

I would probably have to go with listening to pop music, it seems to work the best with me.

I agwee with cats what concentration do you need? Do you mean being distracted at the manga and not payin attention to music or music too loud cant concentrate on manga? i think i understand (XD) tho i do not really understand much but o well
