I can't listen to music while I'm reading manga because I'll just end up singing along to the song instead of reading. Hahahaha!

i won't say i read all of the treats, but i must say that i read a few to say the least it is clear that when you read while listening you do the one, or the other, I myself prefer something in the background as music (mostly Japanese-something) but i'm not really listening to what is on, it's just... to say, background music. wich seams logic that i can say, No i don't listen to music while reading manga. But there is music, i'm just not listening to it. hehe ~K

YES.I do that all the time.It's somewhat a little distracting,but I feel so much better that way....x_x

I do it all the time. It's relaxing, even when I'm doing something else like reading. I'm usually always listening to my iPod with my daily activities.

I love doing that, especially if it's a manga that has an anime. It's nice to listen to let's say the soundtrack to that particular anime/manga/ while reading... I don't know, it just seems interesting to me. >XD

when i am reading on the computer i like to listen to music. also depends on the manga and so on.

I can listen to any type of music while reading (and any other thing I do), but it depends on my mood. I have "writing", "happy", and "pretty" playlists, and I put loud, fast-paced music in 'happy', slow and pretty songs in 'pretty' and rock and everything else that I listen to while writing in 'writing'. XD

at first when i first started reading what was to become a great number of scanlations, i couldn't concentrate and therefore couldn't listen to music, now that i have gained experience in my manga reading and gotten over all the complicated arrangements of the speaking bubbles, and the little random comments made on the side that aren't even in a speaking bubble i can't do without listening to music...it feels empty -_-;

I cant listen to my favorite music, cause then i start paying attention to the song instead of the manga... lately though, i listen to background music from the anime of what I'm reading, or something without lyrics... like techno^^

It's not a problem for me because I already maester that thing. When I read, I always listen to music Any kinds of music because music is my passion.

It's hard enough for me to read Japanese without having to tune out the lyrics of whatever song is playing. Background music, I can handle, but I find it too odd when the mood of the music doesn't fit whatever is happening in the story. It's better than the racket coming from my landlady's television, though.

I can't stand silence! Also a reason i don't like libraries...

When im reading a book/manga or whatever it is im doing, my music just has to be on, it's what keeps me sane. As for what I usually listen to while reading manga, i'd say... anything from soundtracks (anime or movies) to jpop/rock.... just nothing to heavy that would start standing out to much.

I mostly listen to anime related music while reading manga. Sometimes I listen to rap during the fight scenes.

No, I can't. I can't reallt pay attention to anything if I am listening to music. If I am not focused on listening to my music, then why bother putting it on. I feel that I will have better concentration reading manga, when I don't listen to any music.

Nope, I can't concentrate if I'm trying to read and there's music. I'll get too into the music and forget reading altogether.

not many have the concentration to listen to music while reading their favorite manga. If you are one of the ones who can or do, what kind of music goes along with ur manga. I realize that this isnt a question for everyone, just curious if anyone else enjoys music during these activities.

Me? I cant listen to anything too "hard", i prefer a softer less voiced song, preferably j-pop

I can very well listen to music while I'm reading a manga. But it's impossible to watch an anime with music for me. It's to distracting.

The only manga I am reading at the moment is Shaman King, and recently, I have started to listen to SK-albums while I read the Manga... I don't have to, but I choose to just to spice things up... and it does make sense since the anime used the same songs.

Yes, sometimes, when I read manga, turn on some song, ussually jpop. I focus on the manga, music is just to relax. But these song will come in my mind in I read that manga again.

Yeah, sometimes I read and work with music.. Sometimes I can sing the song without know the meaning and the lyrics of the song.. That's why I can't read in a library.. I can't shut my mouth.. Even there are no music, my mouth never stop sing a song that I like..
