It's been my general experience that although sometimes girls like the quiet guy, in general most girls like the sociable go-getter who is interesting, funny and also likes to listen. Physical appearance also measures highly into this as well. Although I'm a guy, I've actually had a few casual discussions about this with my best friend (who happens to be female).

Basically, yea girls like guys who have good social skills. If a person is friendly and approachable, with a few good stories or jokes, they'll fare better than the guy who is off to the side doing his own thing and not speaking up.

Oh yea you don't have to be a fashion model or anything but taking care of skin and hair etc. as well as dressing nicely is highly important for both guys AND girls. I know of several instances where a person went slack-jawed and wanted to talk friendly with somebody just because of clothes.

Well, that's my take on it at least...

That is very subjective, it cannot be generalized. Personal preferences are very hard to discuss, there's no way we can reach a valid conclusion.

For me personally yea, I don't really want to be with a person who is to out there because I am also quiet

Well if you ask me, the quiet guys are not really that bad.. They may have a cool side to them.. The jocks and all that doesnt work anymore... Thats just my opinion...

I mean, I'm attracted to guys who're quieter than me. If they're all loud and expressive as I am I dont think I could think of them any more as a "friend". i like quieter guys because I dont really notice them at first, but then I wonder... "what makes them tick?" quieter guys make me curious, but if they're not friendly funny or nice then forget it, haha

I think girls like quite guys it makes them more mysterious and makes the girl want to get to know them. Plus what girl would want and guy thats a jerk.

Most women love quiet guys because they're nice, "cute", whatever you want to call them. However, would they date them? Hell no. This is because women naturally gravitate toward the center of attention. The center of attention is usually a talkative womanizer with a sense of humor. Knowing how to converse gives off a confident vibe. This helps because confidence is the second most important trait women are attracted to (the first is sense of humor.)

Sure, some guys might be confident in themselves but, the problem is they do not know how to exhibit their confidence. And since women are verbal in nature, they get swept off their feet by he who knows how to talk. Small talk looks like a big obstacle, but it is just what it is, small. If you're a quite/shy guy reading this then please take notes. Start with something small, perhaps something you both can relate to, like a class or an assignment or something at work. Practice your conversational routine everywhere you go- this means at the grocery store as well as when you're out and about. The more you get used to small talk (e.g. asking the cashier how her/his day is going) the more natural it will be when you engage a foxy lady like myself;)

Practice makes perfect, and remember to have a good sense of humor. Women love a man who can make them laugh. Good luck to all the quite shy guys out there!

I have been wondering if girls like quiet guys. The reason I ask this is because I always read/hear that girls like to laugh and smile. So if a guy can do that for a girl, then he as a good chance with her. I know that there are plenty of guys who like quiet girls judging by favorite anime characters that guys like.

Yes!...(some) of the girls like ** quiet guys.** Why? Because..they are faithful _and have a _ nice heart..Not only that..they've a lot of reasons..

yes, well i do like quiet guys. i think it makes them not as hard to talk to. and if a guy is loud and crude or the "popular" one, well thats just a big turn off. to me anyways. i think if a guy is quiet, theres more to them then just what you see. and thats a good thing.

Quiet....as in....the type that doesn't talk much, or the type that doesnt WANT to talk much?^^" cuz if the guy doesnt talk much but when he DOES talk he's full of interesting stuff, then, yea, I'd go for that kind ^^" but if he doesn't want to talk...or ends up in an awkward halt mid conversation...ehh...=w=" it'd be kinda hard to communicate together eh?

LOL! you can look at manga or anime guys for an example xDD The ones that are have alota fangirls are usually the kinda guy girls go for^^ Though personally...i kinda can't stand most of those kinds =3=. Or you can look at the guys in dramas...well, sometimes girls go for them for their good looks, but you usually notice the guy's personality is usually "kind", "considerate" and err...LOL, my cousin described that korean Hana Yori Dango guy as "gentlemanly" =w="

but as for the subject of girls liking quiet guys. Depedns on what kind of quiet guy, being that a quiet guy could be the shy and kind type or an aggressive leave-me-alone kind.

I do think its personal preference in general however, a balance I think is good not I-am-too-shy-to-talk-to-anyone dead quiet but nobody likes a loud and obnoxious who says things he shouldn't either

well if you mean those mysterious,loner types,then yes they will,cause girls want attention,and they are just ignoring them,so they'll just do anything just to get there attention,and when just get a glance they'll go crazy,thinking that he likes her.

Well, those sexy model alike b$%tches do not like quite, disciplined guys for sure which is why I have a problem finding a girl friend all my life, and I am already thirty years old. And they like humor, but I am anything else than funny. I am rather straightforward and committed to the tasks which makes me boring towards the opposite sex, I suppose.

So yes, a lot of beautiful women prefer outrovert men...

Well, it depends of the person I think. Quiet guys are preferred because they are more disciplined and respectful rather than those "bad boys" who do everything to catch attention... The romantic side and cuteness plays also a role, and quiet guys often have those characteristics compared to others, I think o/

It depends on the type of girl. Some girls like quiet guys. Girls who have been greatly annoyed by other obnoxious boys will want to find a quiet guy. Some girls tend to be curious because they might be overly social. So if they spot a quiet guy, they'll just ask questions (though, I think in my perspective,... it will be rare for a social girl to ask a quiet guy something. (^w ^); Others tend to just ignore (but not in a mean way) quiet guys. But if, in her perspective, thinks that he didn't do anything bad or such and that he's just being all quiet and alone, then she might be a little interested in him (coincidental). So..yeah.., it depends on the type o girl if she likes quiet guys.

dam thewarangel your took the words right out of my mouth, that was exactly what i think, i especially like how you mention and explain why most girls like a jerk type of guy because they believe they can change them, sadly its pretty true even if people like to deny it.

the dude could be acting to be quite just to for heck of it,but then again,the girls will fall for it,except for the melancholic types they wouldn't care less,and if you think about it,it could work the other way around,the dude might fall in love with the quite and mysterious girls.
