This is just an idea, but I thought I'd talk about it here and see if you guys like it or not.
It's been a while since I've been actively "lurking" on pixiv.net, a sort of japanese digital art community. Among the things you get to see there (besides tons of artworks), there's also a side project that they started, named Pixiv Fantasia. What is it? It's a fictional fantasy universe created by all the artists who partecipate in this project: what they do is create artworks of the world, setting, locations, characters and so on of this universe, and creating its "Lore". It's a great idea to let everyone toy with their imagination and work together.
Now, what I've been thinking is, why don't we "import" this idea and start a similar project at this group? The difference would be that, rather than making "artworks" in general we'd make wallpapers instead (scenic ones, of course). For the charcters we could either use our own original art (for those who know or want to give it a try) or we could use artist's scans, the one that are not related to any existing anime/manga/novel. The project would have no deadline (as long as we keep producing something related to it it's fine), and we could opt to work in collabs (or alone) if we feel like it.
So how does that sound? Just thought this would help the group be a little more active and something else besides the monthly contest. It'd also be a challenge for people who want to try create their own fantasy/sci-fi settings and incorporate them as part of one universe/world. :X
If there's enough people at this group (atleast five or six) who like the idea we could give it a try.

Right now out of the original names suggested so far we have:

I'd say that we could have a total list of 20 names and then have everybody select three of them, and then do a further poll to select the name. Right now the list is of 13 names. 7 more!

i think we should make the most popular name the name of the world, then the next 5 or so the names of the continents, then countries, then islands and cities, and so forth. of course that would depend on how many name suggestions we get.
btw i like Arus the best so far.

Good idea. The name of the world and then eventually the ones of the continents (we don't really have to make 5 regions, we can make less if we want).

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been moving to a different home to spend the Easter holiday week, I didn't have much time to check AP and see what was going on. Anyway, the current list of names:
Total of 18 names. I think we have enough names to pick one from. Unless someone comes up with two more names within the following 24 hours we could start voting for two names to trim the list and then do a second round of voting to choose the final name for the fantasy world (which will also be the name of the whole project).

Well then, if no one else is going to vote then so far the result is:

Now, vote for one between Arus and Labryn. If there aren't atleast six votes within two days, we'll go for the name that had the highest number of votes in round 1. Let's get this done within this week so that we can move on making the first wallpaper and start creating a map of the world. :)
