This wallpaper deserves to be highlighted because of many reasons:
The fence looks so real and detailled that you can almost touch it. In many cases, wallers copy and paste similiar objects of the background (e.g. flowers). But this fence looks like it has been drawn stroke by stroke.
The colours and combination of highlights and shadows create a dark and mysterious atmosphere which suits the manga perfectly. I'm glad dolce-yasmin didn't stick to the original colours which wouldn't be as effective as the brown tone.
Not to forget the vector itself which is not only a huge improvement of the original scan, but also shows you dolce-yasmin's improvement of her vectoring skills!
what should i do ... order a pizza - eat food that my mother made - or microwave pizza?

The apple and the two characters need better extraction. Like the font that you used but perhaps needs to be more faded.

The font makes for an interesting effect to the wallpaper, but it seems a little bit too plain. Maybe you could try to add some textures into the background. That would leave the background as a dark theme without creating too much distraction from the characters. Also, the apple is extracted very poorly. The stem looks as though it needs a lot of work and the edges of the apple are entirely grainy. I would suggest using less hardness on the eraser tool to soften up that edge ((or try an anti-aliasing filter)). My other thing is that the apple seems a little bit too realistic for the rest of the wallpaper. If you could simplify it to look anime-ike, I think that that too would help bring up the quality of the wallpaper.
Other than that, I have to say that it's a very good start and you should definitely keep up the good work!

yep as said before the apple needs an HUGE work to get nice edges and an anime look... About it I always use some smart blur tool to remove details out of stuff... Most of the time it works fine...
About the characters... I guess you add an filter or a layer with stars on it don't you? I think it's not necessary at all... It makes the apple looking like a Christmas ball or some kind of crystal ball... Not really clear in my mind but it's not really looking great at all.
Indeed the extraction of the characters them self need a lot of work... and the scans look like they are resized out of a much smaller image... Not good. You need to find a better scan... Or try to avoid the grainy look of your picture...
I like the background as it is : simple and nice. But I really don't think those designs you add are useful... You should remove them. And you can probably make the text a bit bigger... But that's not the most important thing now.
Good luck! :)

The apple really is real and it has this starry, shiny effect that I didn't quite noticed. I'll fix...Thanks!!

If the American administration insists in handing the president to the Iraqis, it would commit a great strategic mistake which would lead to the escalation of the violence in Iraq and the eruption of a destructive civil war," al-Dulaimi told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.
Iraq's highest court on Tuesday rejected Saddam's appeal against his conviction and death sentence for the killing of 148 Shiites in the northern city of Dujail in 1982. The court said the former president should be hanged within 30 days.
The White House was preparing for Saddam's execution as early as this weekend, based on information that U.S. officials in Baghdad were receiving from the Iraqi government, a senior administration official said in Washington.
