It's been a long time since I've read Fruits Basket... Uhm, Akito? If I remember well, she is the leader of the Sohma family or something like that, and she is the one who links the Zodiacs and controls them? I think while Kyo, Shigure etc. represent the animals, she represents the God in that story that Tohru's mother had told Tohru when she was a kid. Am I making sense? n_n;
Question: What is so special about Ritsu (apart from the Chinese Zodiac thing)?

Yup, making sense you are ^_^ and you are right in what you said, but it's also not the correct answer ^_^; (Looking for a specific character from Chinese beliefs)
And for your question, um... (o_o) well, dresses like a woman to feel less societal pressure, apologizes for everything, slightly suicidal, insecure, also kind, plus he ends up dating Mitsuru becasue of their shared Shigure trauma... all of which are remarkable character traits, but I'm not sure which one would be what you mean (or if none of them are and I'm just clueless ^_^;)

To Blue : Tohru's parents must jave been really young when they got married cause her mom died young too... I would say 17-18 years old.
