Hey everyone! Im really looking for some help with my wallpaper I have here. I understand that its really just a vector and some brushes. I really like the background I threw together (infact I loved the brushes so much I made my signature with them) 8)E emoticon with the brushes but I also understand it needs more. But what? I have just stared at it so many times and just dont have a clue. In a way I like the simpleness of it but like I said I know it needs more. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it better? You guys' work here is so great and I am open to any suggestions you guys may have. Anyways i guess I should add too that I got the Gokudera vector from this site here http://www.animepaper.net/gallery/scans/Katekyo-Hitman-Reborn/item197994/ and it was vectored by @RoliSisters. well, I'm no expert but I will suggest 2 things: 1. making the vector and the wallpaper more connected... like adding some brush work with colors from the vector and make them connect to it! 2. adding text! IMO text almost always makes a wallpaper much better

*drools* i love your avatar anyywhoooo this wallpaper can be and needs to be improved a lot 1. the re-sized vector is squished 2. the vector itself is quite dark, try making it more saturated with more contrast 3. the background is pretty random, i suggest you either think of a theme/scenery. or go for abstract, which would involve much more brushes

My suggestion would be to clean it up a bit. There's a bit of blurring on the character, especially on his arm and hair. Also, the design behind him kid of invades into his outline in a few places, and should be cleaned up. And just a matter of personal opinion, you might want to try blending/blurring the orange and yellow designs a bit, or making them softer and fuzzier, and seeing if you like them that way. There's nothing specifically wrong with them, it's just that the extreme pixelization of them looks strange to me when I view it at full size. Also, as 3cats said, text can help a lot on a wallpaper. Just a title sort of thing, or maybe some faint/scribbley sort of words/lyrics added to the background to fill it out a bit more.

okay, no offence.
ur wallie reminds me of my last work on rockman zero: put a 'graphic' object onto 'pixel' background. somehow, ur character is placed much too to the side/border of the wallie, which makes 'him' out of focus as the main theme of this wallie, unless u wan the background become the major object. even so, i suggest u make the 'arch's into vector without the noise, it quite spoils the wallie and does not fit either to the character or the blue background. A little opinion, I hope you browse through some other posted wallie in this site with similar outcome like ur wallie to improve onto the background. U are trying to make a fantastic VECTOR bg here, tat's wat I get from ur wallie, and it's a good try, but somehow it's quite plain and does not fit the overall feeling. get urself a title for the wallie as a start, it will help a lot.

Ok..lol. So I tried something totally different. Even though I loved my other background P(T_T) I realized that it just really didnt fit the vector. So here is what I came up with. I can't decide whether or not I like this or If I should just try something different. What do you guys think? (Im determined to get this..lol) ( T_T)/
What do you guys think? work with this one or start again? (Im thinking start again?)

Its an improvement. My only concerns are the uninspired use of textual elements and the darkened bottom edge appearing to be the result of process rather than an intentional element.

Textual elements? Not sure I understand. (o_o) (I looked it up after I posted this and I think you mean my text right?) So here it is now with the removed darkened bottom (it was actually part of a texture) and the changed text. Not sure about the placement of the text now. Whatcha think?

The Background Is quite nice. But you can always but some nice brushes(If you want,that is). The Text on the left doesn't look quite, erh..., fits the background or render/vector?

Yeah I couldn't figure out the right placement for the text. At first I had it over his head and didnt like it so I moved it to the side. Or do you mean the text itself?

Ok, still working with it. I messed with the text, changed the blue background to green(I though the green matched his eyes), removed the black on the bottom, and added a brush behind the text. So what do you guys think now? Any better?

First if you submit this wallpaper you should give a credit for the owner of the vector! OK. about the wallpaper, Change the font and the color and add fire brushes in the background..and always don't forgot to put your signature in the wallpaper!

Thank you for the suggestions! I planned on crediting the vector owner and my signature is on the bottom right corner. Should I make it bigger? Anyways, so I changed the font and color and added some fire brushes and here is what I have now.

i'm glad you changed the things i point on! but..can you change the font again here this site..have a lot of great photoshop fonts!
and no don't change your signature its great. well..i meant change the whole color..it'll looks better in my opinion. I'll say something about the scan: you should download it so it'll be high quality.and not poor.

Lol..i know you got tired in making this! but I'll do my best to help you! =^^= and i guess..the font is good now! can you remove the shadow from the font! and have you download the vector scan? :o

I did download it but my problem is..lol..When I put the image on the background because I removed the white from the image by using alpha to color (just turned the white transparent) when I put it on the background I had to erase the background from behind him. When I try to get the downloaded vector in I can't get some of the white covered up. Im not sure of how to put a vector on any other way out the background showing through the vector is why I do it that way. And yes I can remove the shadow from the text. lmao..I just figured out how to remove the white without doing it that way. Now I feel dumb..*sigh*. I might can fix it now..lol.
