hey...donty diss halo....it was the multiplayer that made the game the most awesome FPS of its time.....

I think you're right. Halo is SO overrated. I enjoy the multiplayer when I get together with a ton of my friends, but the game really does suck when it comes to games you can sit down and enjoy. The missions are very repetitive, and the plot just sucks. The sequel made the game even more overrated. The missions were almost the same. The only thing they did that made it worth buying was the improvements on the multiplayer system. Aside from better graphics and a new multiplayer, the game wasn't even worth advertising.

Overrated games:

-Final Fantasy VII (sorry, guys): Not really a bad game... but there are other chapters with an overall superior quality (like... FFVI).

-Grand Theft Auto: I like these games, but I'm tired of seeing that magazines like EGM always complain about "lol sequelitis", but when they talk about the GTA games, they completely forget that. :/

-Any sport game coming from Electronic Arts (except the "Street" series and Fifa 2k6).

-Marvel vs Capcom 2. "LOL BEST FIGHTING GAEM EVUR BECAUSE IT HAS +50 CHARACTERS" (yeah, right... and only 6 of them are always selected).

Underrated games:

-Anything coming from Sega. They don't get enough attention :/

Under Rated Super Robot Wars Series, I gues they are kinda popular but not in US.

Also this game I played a while back called Vagrent Story by Square Soft.

hmmm...im not sure, but i think resident evil 4 is a little bit over rated...but its a great game! :)...hmmm a under rated game would have to be...god of war...I LOVE THAT GAME! and like people are saying "ya its an ok game...what ever screw it now" but i say screw you if you dont like it...ITS A GOOD GAME! lol!

I think the classics are the underrated games. What could be wrong with the old SNES games like Super Mario Bros, Super Punch Out, and the classic Mario Kart games? Why did they ever get old?

There are a lot of RPGs that are WAY better than FFVII.

Fangirls liked it because "omg look videos!" and "omg look aeris sacrified herself, it's a first in vg's!", and a big etc.

I don't know if I would consider Halo overrated. It's not worth it if you only have a few people. But when you get like 8+ people playing it it's a pretty descent game. I suck at it, but it's a good get together game. Otherwise, it's not too good.

Master of Onion would be considered as "overrated" if:

-It generates a lot of blind fanboys. -All media rates it well, when the game isn't worth a damn, or its less good than the reviewers said. -It was well-known among all the people.

Well Final Fantasy was put down in the dirt with that crappy thing calling itself a movie... you know the spirit within.. oh lookie, badass marines in shiny armor... w00t machineguns... blech! And that destined FF7 as well. I mean it has a great story, I really mean it. And although I like FF6 and SO a lot better, it's still not overrated. I heard someone comparing it to Diablo.... no comments on that :) Oh yeah.. overhyped and overrated: Diablo 2 and Dungeon Siege 2. I mean.. kill, maim, kill, maim, advance, find shiny gold item.. bash, kill, maim....

Underrated: REAL strategy games. Like the aforementioned X-Com series.. or Panzer General for instance.

Overrated: FFVII Underrated: Ico

Ico, Ico, Ico!!! For those of you who have played it, you would know what I mean. The only reason it didn't sell well IMO is because of the bland and boring cover. I can't wait for Ico 2.

First off Overrated Games: (DEFINATLY) Halo there are much better FPS's out there and I much prefer them on the PC

and Underrated Games: Eternal Darkness ( such an awesome game with its use of the insanity meter and messing with you)

Please don't kill me, but...

I seriously think the whole FF series franchise is so overrated. Their graphics may have been nice (and still are) for their time, but the gameplay sucks in my opinion. It's just not a very appealing gameplay...real-time or some more strategy in the battles would be nicer.

I think the ancient Brave Fencer Musashi for PS1 was underrated. I'm surprised it wasn't as popular as it should be (I don't even know if many people remember it these days ^-^) This game was my first time being exposed to irony in a game...and villages with interactive people! XD

WAAAAY Overrated: Pokemon Underated:FFX

I cant tkae another pokemon game Have they pushed 1000 yet. It was the 2nd best FF in my book. but FFX2 had to bring it down

HALO 2 colud be considered overarted but the only thing i didnt like about it was the Arbiter.

Overated: Halo GTA: III (bad story and targeting!) Madden

Underrated: Beyong Good and Evil (how come NOBODY BOUGHT THIS GAME) Mario Tennis Powerstone

it was the multiplayer that made the game the most awesome FPS of its time.... goldeneye for the n64 over halo for me on that statement. there wasnt any online play for consoles at the time thats all imo

Indeed, it's an excellent american football simulator... but let's face it, the saga receives very few changes with the each year. EA doesn't seem to be worried about it because there is no other competitive franchise (Visual Concepts' 2k series are a really good alternative, but nobody give two craps about them).

Now, if we look at other games like FIFA... that game also had a VERYYYY slow (practically non-existant) evolution... but everything changed when Konami decided to bring its Winning Eleven series.

EA even copied the WE gameplay in the latest FIFA chapter!

Overated: GTA, CS, WOW Underated: shadow hearts 2, Ys ark of napishitim

The biggest overrate ever must be Half-Life 2. It promises 50 hours to clear and guess what? A friend of mine does in a fith of the promised time. Nor was it especially thrilling, fun or even bloody. The swedish version of PC Gamer (the pc game paper) gave it 97 % of 100, the highest rate in their history which I cannot understand.

Underated... it must be Final Fantasy VIII. Instead of dissing the game, see it for what it is and play it for the same reason. All over the globe I've heard people complain about it being crap an such. It isn't like other FFs and that's the point. But I also hear this quote; "A great game but the worst Final Fantasy." Rather this quote than people blaming it to be crap for no good reason.
