Well..finally i m getting a hang of this site...love the work here. I unfortunately don't have much knowledge in photoshop...but i love drawing and sketching.
Right now I ll be posting my artwork...They are divided into 3 Arcs
1) The first Arc has my sketches from a year and a half back. Not great but this was my first step 2) This second arc is a year back when i went through the Nudity phase. Made 3 drawings of Luis Royo's artwork. (MODS...feel free to delete if it is against rules to post such art...there is no showcasing genitals) 3) My drawings in the last 6 months...I feel i have improved a lot...going to start working on my own manga. Although thats easier said than done, because I am studying in college and dont get much time on these stuff.
DOUBT: HOW DO I MAKE THE BIG PICS APPEAR FULLY..THEY ARE HALF CUT HERE
** ARC-1**
2)Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess
6)Asuka and Rei from Evangelion
8)Mitsuki and Haruka from Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien
10)Sarah and Setsuna from Angel Sanctuary
** ARC-2(NUDITY)**
Click here for Pic 1Click here for Pic-2Click here for Pic-3

i really adore ur drawings. they're good u know. ^^ maybe u can improve on the hands, or rather the finger parts... that would make it better. keep up the good job! and good luck in drawing ur new manga if u're doing it. i'll be supporting u!

You have shown much improvement, but I agree with kawaiiyuki about the hands. Hands are hard, but given the progress you've made already, you should be able to pick them up quick. Pick up hands..get it? haha!

Love the clean lines to your drawings. :D Can't wait to see some of your own original art some day. From what I've seen you're very good in emulating the styles of the respective animes you drew for. What would be interesting is to see your own style :) With these, I feel you're ready to take on colored artwork as well.
Minor critique would have to be with the way you draw hands. The lines to them always seemed awkward and unnatural. The best tip for that would be using your own hand as reference when you can :D

it would be nice to see some original artwork. drawing from a piece is easy, but when you draw your own, or from a model, thats where the areas you are flawed come out. It would be a lot easier to critique in that way. But yes, your hands do need help. Keep in mind how many bones are in your hands, and how they can, and do bend. Basically, the metacarpals stay flat (the back of your hand) and only bend at the wrist, and cup in the palm, then the fingers start bending at the metacarpolphalangeal joint. ya know what? let me just show you. cause this will make no sense otherwise:http://www.infovisual.info/03/img_en/027%20Bones%20of%20the%20hand%20(dorsal%20view).jpgbut basically, my point is, understand how the body can move and bend, and you're drawings will be much better. a third of my life drawing class was studying bones, joint and muscles, and how they effect the movement of the body. best class i ever had. I think i drew the skeleton 15 times in the first 3 weeks. My advice to you is to see if you can take a life drawing class or figure drawing class. Or, at least do your own work. use yourself as a model if you need, but do it from LIFE not a photograph. I go to school for animation, and theres too many kids in the sequential art department that want to be manga artists off in japan, but meanwhile, all they can do is copy someone else's drawings. They're basically wasting their money, and their professors time. You'll need to broaden that horizon and learn from the inside out. The last thing you want is to be like Fred "can't draw hands" gallagher. He's the laughing stock of my college. And it's a very very GOOD school.

Hmmm...trust me....I would love to draw my own stuff..but unlike u having the comfort to go to an animation school...I m stuck in an engineering college in a country with more or less no scope for animation. Plus since this college is the best here...study pressure is too high. But yet i m trying my best....but there is not enough time to devote to drawing.
Anyway...will take advice...here is my latest...copied...but i m kinda proud of it...

:3 You can't blame your college for your lack of time to draw~ You've chosen the career path of engineering, which focuses on perfection and preciseness, but in art, you need to interpret and develop your own style! I agree with Kalico, you should definitely try some original art instead of falling back on copying. Copying is good practice, but can't you very well expect to improve on your own without trying new things! :D

like ur new piece! XD looks nice. and the hands improved... although i think u said that u copied. ^^ " also, like ur shading and smooth line. keep up the good work! i'll still be supporting u!

Hmmm thanks for the feedback guys... I agree too that I should start with some original work...I do have them...but I know they arent great as of yet. The day I feel they are of the level of what I have drawn above or even better...that day I shall post them definitely.

I;m so jealous of the ppl here who could draw. Anyway when u draw, u always just use ur imagination of the position of the person u draw or u look at a pic and start drawing the pic?
5 years, 6 months ago
Nice drawings, the more you draw the more visual imagery gets feeded to you, you'll get use to drawing figures etc and with a bit of imagination and some resources such as mannequins/photos, you can produce original work, thats how I got familiar with anime drawings.

I think your draws are nicely done. You have to put more atention ond hands (that´s one of my greatest problems when I draw, but I never finish a draw until I´m happy with the hands) anyway, itá a nice job what you have here ^^

how old are you? since those last drawing are really awsome..... if u do say there is little income of anime where u live... u can always download it.... thats how most of us do it xD.... and even if there is little time to draw.... u can always make up time.....
and really, how do you expect to become a mangaka with only copied work? move on and try doing your own characters... or atleast those same characters u just copied in original poses....... practise makes perfection
good luck....

Thanks a lot guys... ur comments have made me even more confident in myself. Btw I am right now 20 yrs old. I do practice my own stuff but they arent that great as of yet. Even though animation scope here is almost nil...I still love anime,...dwnload a lot too. This December, finally I ll have a vacation. So after 1 month..maybe I ll be able to impress You all with my original works. till then I m completely busy with college.
THANKS for the support again. Means a lot.

Thanks a lot guys. As far as my Original work is considered, u guys have to give me 2 months time. My much awaited December vacation is coming. I will be practicing hard for my Manga. Till then here is another work. Its from NANA. Something doesnt feel right according to me...pls point out if possible.
PS: @Kawaiyuki..I ll be hopin for ur support, your words have given me confidence to start my work
Here is the version 2 and 3... a bit of photoshop to remove the unnecessary pencil marks or shades. The other has a simple gradient added. I m not a frequent photoshoper, so it is a very crude treatment..but neway..which version is better???

here is what I think might be awkward about this last one...... (altho I really liked it either way...)
the shoulders are too wide.... and the hips too strait.... hachi's eyes.... altho closed.... still seem a bit smaller than nana's eyes.... the hands also seem a bit unatural....like stiff.... and the legs seem a litle bit thin in comparison to the body...... (I know the series NANA is meant to have litle curves in the hips.... and thin legs..... but I would say you just need to give it a bit more volume)....
alright.... thats me.... here Im being picky and all.... so dont take it hardly.... I liked the drawing
PEACE!!
