Ello, Hope you're all doing well! I've only just started to donwload manga (and now wished I started a long time ago!) and I've stumbled on to a few Kaori Yuki mangas.
I love Count Cain, and despite the shonen ai in Boys Next Door, I couldn't help but fall for the wonderfully put storyline.
Anyway, I've heard a bit about Angel Sanctuary but not enough to know whether it's worth downloading or not. I was hoping someone could tell me a bit about it. Also, I was hoping to find out whether it's finished or not (the story I mean).

i haven't read AS that much... but this what I know..
Yes the story is finished (at book 23 IINM). Basically it's a story of Setsuna Mudou who has fallen desperately in love with his twin sister Sara. Pretty simple storyline so far.. but in reality Setsuna is the reincarnated fallen angel, Alexiel. Alexiel was banished to Earth for rebelling against heaven, i think. Pretty soon Setsuna discovers his closest buddies are reincarnation of Alexiel's allies/lovers/rivals?? Then some real bona-fide angels and demons show up at his doorstep to kill Setsuna blabla Setsuna's love/sister gets killed. Setsuna goes down to Hell to retrieve his lover...
a very rough storyline, it is. But if you like Count Cain, I'm certain you'll like AS. (The only reason I don't read it because the twincest thing scares me :P) AS has a good storyline and goth/visual-kei art that Yuki Kaori is good at. Plus, there's a plethora of characters for you to admire/hate/oogle. Check out Lucifer *ehehehehe* I think the story starts to get good when Setsuna enters Hell and beyond.

Wow thanks! It sounds really good! Twincest.... lol, yeah that is a bit of a scarer, nevertheless, I really like Kaori Yuki's works so I guess I'll have to vernture it....note to self, stop saying stupid things. Thank you so much for the info!!!!

yeah the twincest thing doesn't go well with me... but if you like Kaori Yuki's art, I'm sure you will like the art in AS. Kaori Yuki's character designs in this story is lovely. There's so many characters HAHAH.

I read all of Angel Sanctuary in around 3 days and how i wish I had some prozac on hand =/. It was a great series but it had me down more than once. Very depressing =(

angel sanctuary can certainly be depressing and disturbing in places but the artwork alone is worth the look. absolutely fantastic. yuki kaori is my all-time favourite mangaka, and i endorse her to everyone.

Angel Sanctuary is a pretty gruesome manga, but it is very good. A little bit incest but still it doesn't really matter. The mangaka for this manga is really good, the drawing are really cool/nice, very detail. I read up to volume 17 so far, and i thought it only have 20 volume not 23.

IMHO this manga is good, but it has it's own style, so don't really listen to what people say. Try reading it :P

The manga is great. The artwork is amazing and the story is interesting, yet somewhat confusing. Not one of my favourites, but worth reading it.

just.... don't get around watching the OVA... Agreed. The OVA was just..bad. I don't think there are words to describe it.
I read a few volumes and snippets here and there in magazines. Rather confusing story but Kaori Yuki's artwork is beautiful (to ogle at). I didn't particularly like it, though. Just something about it that didn't draw my attention in.

Waaah. Angel Sanctuary is a great manga... and yes, it's 20 volumes long. I love all Kaori Yuki manga I've read~ *__*; Her art! Though it's still kinda messy at the beginning of AS... it's... amazing after a few volumes.
Hmm... Since the main beginning storyline has already been described pretty well, I wont delve into that. But I do have some things to say... I personally had a bit of trouble reading the first three volumes or so, the art was messy and the story was kind of confusing... so if that happens to you, continue to read! AS is a long manga worth reading. Great characters, plot, interaction... Ahh I want to re-read it again now! Too bad I have too much school work to do. =__=;
And also... I guess you don't seem 100% okay with the incest thing. Seeing as that sort of thing doesn't bother me at all... I don't know if you will feel the same but... I went through AS constantly forgeting they were brother and sister. .__.; To think what attracted me to AS was that there was incest and dark undertones. Wow... I can't believe I was only twelve/thirteen when I happily read it. I don't think it's gruesome at all either... or disturbing...
But yeah! I hope I've helped at least a little~ ^__^;

oh yes i have to agree...ive read all of her mangas as well.....shes wonderful...my favorites are...hmm...almost all of them Angel Santuary God Child Earl Cain Blood Hound Kaine Boys Next Door Gravel Kingdom Neji and the rest i likies..but not as much as I likies these :P
