I love Slam Dunk ^^ It's kinda funny because when it was being published in my country, I didnt even bother reading it because of the cover (you should know that the cover in my country is changed and they looked really stupid). I started reading Slam Dunk like 2-3 years later and I got addicted to it. Thanks God it's dont publishing so I dont have to wait for it.

In my opinion, Rukawa is just trying to show off, like he's better than anybody. If he is so good, why didnt he just go to a school with a good basketball team? He was kind of annoying and I dont like him that much. Only near the end of the manga that Rukawa passed the ball to Sakuragi.

Sakuragi is so funny when he first started playing basketball. He knows how to dunk the ball but he doesnt know how to throw it in He and another guy (the one loves the manager,I think) are both funny. They were dying a minute before but when the girls they love cheer for them, they suddenly became superhuman Slam Dunk is a good manga to read.

It may be dangerous for such a comment of Rukawa?XD Well,a lot of charas in SD have their own supporters. And my favourite is Mitsui Hisashi.Somehow he gives me feeling like a hero of tragedy. That attracts me.And he's really cool on shooting the 3-points.Go to see the anime version,it's good too.

I watched the Anime more than reading the Manga,... well the thing was, that in Germany the distribution of the Manga was cancelled due to lack of sells. Maybe just after 5 Volumes, but I'm not sure,..

And about Rukawa,.... I would rather say he is a quite guy, who focuses only on one goal in his life,... Basketball. He is quite indifferent, he doesn't really care about his Teammates, I mean privately. He's only playing with the team in order for his own benefit. And as we all know, he doesn't waste time with that "idiot Sakuragi Hanamichi", the main Character of the series.

Since I only saw the Anime, I rather talk about the Anime version instead of the Manga,... Unfortunately Anime ended up until Sakuragi ..... has mastered his jump shot in an exhibition game against a Team of Japanese High School Allstars

Can anyone tell me what happened after that??? What tournaments did Shohoku play anyway in the future?

I read its manga and it's not bad or should I say.. it's interesting to read such a funny manga ^^ Rukawa is cool but he's not my fav character, not either Sakuragi :P I like Sendoh the best out of all. He's great in the play but doesn't get cocky over his talent. Sakuragi is a nice guy from the beginning until the end of the story. He kept me entertained when I read about him ^^ I didn't buy the manga, just borrowed it from my friend. It's published quite long ago in my country so I can't find the complete series T_T

Mitsui, that freaky 3-point shooter. what else can i say, sendoh is also one superb player with talent to score. Man, this manga is simply amazing. (in anime, its taking too slow to finish)

When I read a junior high school, this manga and anime are very popular, the classmates of the class all love to see very much.

I am too slowly to feel the anime played, is still a manga more good.

And there is also real ending.

^^~

Yes, a few Episodes of the Anime Version, focused very much on Flashbacks during the games which take at least 10 minutes away from the real game... But overall I would say I like the Anime version because I just briefly read the Manga version due to cancellation within Germany. The manga wasn't popular enough and the publishing company would have only lost money when they kept on selling it.

Mitsui Hisashi was indeed an important facor of the Shohoku Team, but in the last few Episodes he didn't play a vital role anymore.

Another Highlight besides the Slapstick-comedy is the relationship between Akagi and Sakuragi in a comedic manner. I remember when Sakuragi practiced his Bank shots. He practiced all night before the game on the court, but overslept and had to hurry to the game by bike ^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^ And when he arrived,... the game was almost over and he got a couple of knuckles from Akagi on the head. Besides everybody could see Sakuragi's short hair at that time...

At first I thought it lokked very weird,... but after that it made sense for my taste... the short hair made his slapstick-comedy even funnier than before...

The author of Slam Dunk, Takahiko Inue, played some Basketball himself, did you know that???? Well, I have the Manga version (online) of Slam Dunk know, and I must say,... it is a pity that they didn't show the Inter High tournament in the Anime version. They just ended up when Sakuragi mastered his Junp shot against the All Star Team.

They probably thought that it would be boring to show any more Slam Dunk Episodes once Sakuragi mastered almost every basic because he would lose comedy effect when the show would have continued...

It is very unique to draw Japanese Characters similar to Afro Americans,.... like Gorilla-Akagi...

Oh man, I finally read th Manga version of Slam Dunk. I mean I actually read the last 10 volumes. Damn, I recognize very clearly that the end of the Anime is sooo different and wasn't even included in the Manga context. I thought the last Exhibition Game in the ANime is in the Manga as well, but they continued into the Interhigh Action right away....

** ** What an incredible Manga ** **

It was suspenseful until the end... The Game between Shohoku and Sannoh was one of the best I've ever read...

Oooh... I love Slam Dunk! Learned a lot about basketball from it, but am still a noob at basketball. *sigh* I like the suspense during the matches coz you never know what will happen next. I remember spending hours reading till the wee hours just to finish the series.

Oh yeah... T^T the anime could be continues...it will be beautiful to see the last scene...and all the rest

All the rest,... who are you telling that to???? ^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^ Now that I know the Manga Story, I could recognize that a few Anime Episodes were fillers.

Sakuragi Hanamichi is an excellent protagonist, very over confident, Tensai-show-off, know-everything-better-attitude, over-cocky-confidence-type, but very into heart-dedicated to his teams, even if most of his decisions end up into a mess, at least at the beginning. And on the topic... Sakuragi is a quick adapting learner of the techniques... despite his "escapades" he develops a very positive energy among his fellows and to the reader. I mean, I as a reader AND watcher of the Anime began to like him from episode to episode. So in other words I really do favor Sakuragi more than Rukawa.

** ** The most important thing about Sakuragi is that he has guts!!!! He doesn't show any respect or fear to his opponent. He fights until the end and doesn't let anybody in his way,... for the love for THE One... ** **
