This wallpaper deserves to be highlighted because of many reasons:
The fence looks so real and detailled that you can almost touch it. In many cases, wallers copy and paste similiar objects of the background (e.g. flowers). But this fence looks like it has been drawn stroke by stroke.
The colours and combination of highlights and shadows create a dark and mysterious atmosphere which suits the manga perfectly. I'm glad dolce-yasmin didn't stick to the original colours which wouldn't be as effective as the brown tone.
Not to forget the vector itself which is not only a huge improvement of the original scan, but also shows you dolce-yasmin's improvement of her vectoring skills!

That's a lesson of Vista, understanding that the future of computing is in 3D. You want your graphics processor and your CPU as tightly coupled to the memory as possible, so you don't have to sacrifice power efficiency or performance," Moorehead said.
For PC products, AMD will meet that need with Fusion, adding integrated graphics to its current PC chips used by vendors like Dell and Hewlett-Packard.
AMD also plans to use the ATI acquisition to reach further into the consumer electronics marketplace, extending its processor technology into cell phones, smartphones and gaming consoles. AMD hopes to leverage ATI's presence in the gaming market to land on new platforms like Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo Co.'s Wii.

I am definitely looking forward to this "new technology" because of my current need for storage space. i also like shounen-yuki explanation for this.
for now, it's not yet the time to get one. i mean be reasonable. it's too expensive. but yes, it's worth it... for now. i also like ElectroPoint's remark for waiting until it becomes popular... more of "industry standardization" (how i love that word - sarcasm). unless they are openly sold to the market at cheaper prices, then that's a good time to buy. BD burners and BD media are not yet sold here in the philippines so it might take a few months more... most likely by february or april. For the ones like me that use them only for store computer data, home videos and so, the extra capacity of the BR if something atractive. I don't care of the codecs they use or the compatibility within them since the computer can handle everything ;)

Asfar as I know VOB is a container for the MPEG format although I'm not really up to scratch with things.
If you go to www.animemusicvideos.org there is a tutorial on how to convert your vobs to either mpeg or avi divx containers. Hope this helps.
Sors I can't be of more assistance.

You can also goto www.doom9.org and ask for assistance. There was site with extensive conversion guides all over the website... I forgot the site name.
But conversion is overall easy. To simplify the step: Copy the VOB tracks into HDD Get CoDec and conversion program to code the VOB tracks into format of your choice Wait; takes upto 12 hours, depends on system and such Enjoy!

12 hours?! that must have been on a complete heap. Fansubbers completeting an episode without any customization just with the standards the dvd or the vobs take a couple couple of hours at most 12 hrs is absurd.
-Cleric I said UPTO. It all depends on bitrate/quality/resolution and everything... Took me that long to encode hour long anime, two-pass, when I had 512mb ram. It should be shorter now, that I have 2GB Ram with Athlon

Ya bettr by one hells of a lot that thing is a freakin monster the architecture is a complete revolutioN! 128 shaders...384bit memory...and I have even seen signficant overclocks...god... damn i want one i my next build for Christmas... I do, however, hope that in the future they can make graphics cards cooler and more efficient with stuff like 45nm manufac. process , design optimizations, etc... at this rate theenchmarkers are running into CPU limitations even with the Core 2 Extreme... get your asses up Intel, AMD...u software makers need to start creating multithreaded stuff too... I still expect to see some good stuff from AMD/ATI in the future as well maybe some crazy 8 core with a trio of ATI gfx cards all connected in hypertransport or something... dsd

I absolutely love my tablet. For photoshop, it's really helpfull since it's more accurate and it registrates the pen pressure resulting in nice hand-drawn strokes instead of one big banner from the mouseclick. Talking about mouseclicks, since my parents once busted me while photoshopping at 4am or something, I use the tablet as alternative for my mouse as it's way more silent ^_^. About the brand/type you should get, I don't want to upset Pink-Sakura, lol, but Wacom is like the Windows of the tablets. A simple tablet like I have* is pretty inexpensive, but it works just fine for the basic things. But, for handdrawing, it's a bit too inaccurate I think. Therefore, you might look in a higher price range (~cough~ Intuos ~cough~) *I got an ancient Wacom Volito.

Well, using a Virtual Environment give the advantage that you don't have to restart your computer, this is very useful for example when I'm testing the compatibility of websites in different web browsers, as I can leave all my development programs open. It also provides an isolated environment, which can be easily cloned. So getting a virus or some other nasty is no problem.
The downside of using virtual environments is that they don't (yet) have graphics acceleration, so gaming is out. Also various other things like CD burning and certain programs won't work, and to get everything running smoothly you need a decently specced computer, and enough hard disk space

the Aiptek one, at the time i bought for $99, and it worked fine back then with WinME, but when i upgraded to WinXp and Photoshop CS it totally did not function properly... it was still useable, but Photoshop and Painter no longer recognized its pen pressure sensitivity making it kinda lame....and after it kinda stopped working, i one day accidently stepped on the pen which kinda renderd it useless, but thats oks since i didnt use it that much afterwards when pressure sensitive was gone the one biggest complaint about mine is the top of the tablet has F1-F8 shortcuts for whatever reason, and barely moving the pen over these poped up some annoying key binding/shortcut window crap which i never used...it happend so often that i actually made a cardboard border and taped it on so my hand wouldnt go up so high to those floating shortcuts. the tablet now is basically a mousepad with a cord
