Mostly scenery and wildlife right now though I will take my camera out for almost anything. Took close-ups of rain drops off a shrub outside my house. I live near an airport so I have taken pictures of planes and helicopters that fly by. Had some interesting ones make passes near my house.
The prices aren't bad but they aren't great either. I wanted to get more but I must reign in my temptation. Perhaps in a few months I can get more :)

Lol, I like your methodical submissions of the TT scans and the speed at which they become the top scan for the day. One more and you can own it XD
My C79 stuff finally came in last weekend, and I've been going through it on and off since. Will be taking some group photos shortly.
Sounds like you've got a lot to choose from with photography. I've always wanted to take photos of people without them knowing... Which sounds creepy once I've said it, but it's the truth! ^^;

More lazy than methodical :) I scanned a bunch from Tony's books but haven't done much with them. I thought that one with the apple would be popular but she hasn't won any contests yet :)
It would be nice if I could afford all my hobbies at the same time but unfortunately I can't. I am looking forward to seeing what you have from your C79 haul.
Don't they call folks who take pictures of other people without them knowing peeping toms? Hehehehehe ... I avoid random people unless they are part of the picture but not the subject. Family members or friends but not strangers. Unless they ask of course. I'll stick to everything else :)

So, I had a plan for C79 shopping this time around, and it was basically to really weigh in on whether I wanted things or not. And this was accomplished by stalking lots of blogs and generally other people's to buy lists. I figure, if they're going to buy and review it or scan it, I can always decide if I actually want it later with more knowledge. Cause doujinshi can be annoying like that, too many lull you into thinking there'll be a lot of illustrations because of the page count, and then when you get it you find out they're skipping like 10 pages in a 20 page book -_- /rant
Pictures! Here's the general pile. I was going to space them out, but there isn't the light for it. I bought around 50 doujins, all illustration oriented. But I also bought animation douga, like the HOTD one you see, that's mostly black and white.
Ugetsu Hakua's Malleus cover; inside illustration. I'm including the Ugetsu one, since we both seem to like him :D This was another repeat doujinshi, I must be brain damaged to keep buying these like I do but oh well. The illustrations inside are mostly covers from his other books.
Range Murata's COLORS Shangri-la Illustrated Collection; posters inside. Though I knew this one would probably be online, I'm enough of a Murata fan to where that didn't matter. I also like how he laid it out like his PRISMTONE art book, with uniquely sized posters and character designs interspersed.

The Art of PSG Vol. 01; Devil Sisters and Brief; BackgroundsI went after stuff that was featuring PSG fan art, so I had to get the concept art book, released by the Gainax staff. Mostly black and white, but the sketches are kind of awesome when you love the show ^^;

Hi, I'm the only one who watched this kids' show. This was my favorite C79 purchase. Kind of unexpected, but there are so many artists in it, in color and monochrome, and so many awesome interpretations of the characters. So many notable animators are in on it too.

If not I wanna marry you so I can see your collection, also you must be rich :) Hehehehe JK! I guess it's no worse than me dropping couple hundred on 2 books ... those'll eventually be up at your site right?

Lol, I'm married, but not rich! XD I just don't do much else that's remotely expensive. At the rate I'm going though on my site, my whole collection ought to be photographed in just under 4 years, provided I stop buying anything new ;D
And yeah, I can't conceive of spending $200 on 2 books (especially doujinshi!!!) I think I need to have quantity to make the spending feel better ~-~ But you did get sets, so that helps... a little.
And I've been scanning away! I've currently been editing one of the Haruhi art books for a week now. I have no real order in scanning, so if there's something you want to see sooner than later, just mention it.

Unfortunately, Tony's stuff does tend to be expensive as far a doujins go. When I buy a bunch it's usually like 10 but even then that's happened only once or twice.
I'll be looking for sure. And I will let you know if there is something you have that I'd like to see.
Back to the 'ol grind for me.

Snap! That's a lot ... even tho I'm six days late on replying. So how big was the crate?
Gonna be a while before I get caught up. Much has happened in the last month or so. I was busy doing medicals and stuff for a new job overseas. So with the new job comes more money and more to spend on my hobbies :) but less time at home. I'm looking forward to it :)

I don't think I've ever spent that much on artbooks in one order. $300 max I think but I did make a couple orders in one month that added up to almost $500 once. I expect to be back to ordering by September. I'm planning on taking my daughters to Hawaii next year so I need to save for that. Hope to see your new books soon :)

I bought 14 art books in three separate orders.Kei's Gallery,Baby Princess,Yakin Byoutou,Yakin Byoutou 2,Vagrants,Carbon Knight,Muv-Luv Vol 1,Muv-Luv Vol 2,Cradle,Clannad Memorial,Clannad After Story, A Tsurugi Hagane book but I can't seem to find it online, Tropical Kiss art book but I can't find that either,Fate Complete Material IIThats what I bought.

Yes tropical Kiss is by Koutaro and yes I paid those prices for the most part. I'll more than likely get more closer to september. I haven't figured out what yet. I might pick an artist or two and buy art books from them.

Ah, nice. I didn't get Tropical Kiss though I love his art, since it was listed as 18+ and wouldn't ship out. I still haven't been buying from places aside from Amazon recently, since it's just an added high shipping cost for a generally small order. So I feel like I've been missing out on quite a few books ~_~
The only book I've felt really gung-ho about recently was the Midori Foo's Book of Pictures. Oh, and I'd recommend Fate Materials IV to you, since you're a fan, and it's a really solid collection.

Lol, yeah. Though I've been browsing through Mandarake since you mentioned it, and I'm surprised to see so many of the books I bought at full price in the past year already available for like ~$10 less each. They didn't used to have as many up to date books on site so that seems more worth waiting for.
Best book you've probably missed from the last couple of years, Itaru Hinoue's WHITE CLOVER. Just make sure you like Itaru Hinoue's style first (AIR, KANON, CLANNAD). Most people either love it or hate it, no middle ground.

I bought a ton of books while I was overseas, probably more than I should have. I bought 22 books altogether. I won't list them here just because I am lazy right now. I did buy some FSN books, Mahoromatic, Ar Tonelico, and Tony's new stuff too. Took a chance on a few and struck out on them. Nothing to scan or isn't worth scanning. Anyway ... here's breathing some life into this forum :)

Yeah, like 500 yen so not bad. One was 1500 yen and only the cover is any good for scanning. Tony's new stuff from C80. I posted a few from it. Any more and I have to take apart the book and fix the center after scanning. Three are large format comics that have posters inside. That's where the Satoshi Urushihara scans came from. And I finally found Mahromatic Groundwork 1 to complete my set so I am happy about that :)

Sounds like your C80 stuff turned out well :) I was surprised to see the new Satoshi Urushihara stuff, I never seem him listed on auctions or re-sale sites, so I just assumed he didn't participate. Congrats on your complete Mahoro collection! :D
I kept on my with my Madoka trend only to be disappointed ^^; From the ones I've received so far, it's like, 5-6 illustrations in a book and all kind of meh. In fact, there just seems to be a downward trend in the number of illustrations artists are putting out in doujins in general, and it's really not feeling worth it. Or maybe it's just what I've been buying... I dunno, I think I'll just go back to art books for a while until I feel less moody about it.

Those Satoshi Urushihara scans were from posters out of large format manga's. A pleasant surprise for me :) There's one more that I haven't scanned yet plus a couple that I don't know the artist for. Even Tony's new C80 doujin was a bit of a disappointment. It was more pornographic than usual in the color art. Normally there would be nudity along with the scantily clad ladies but this time he threw in a few male members with the ladies. That's fine in the B&W drawings but not in the full color ones.
Some of Tony's other books I bought turned out to be duds as far as scanning was concerned. One turned out to be a pocket novel and another was a gamers handbook for the new Shining Hearts game. It has a couple images in it but not much else. One book I bought was all about collectors cards. Not one image that could be scanned in the entire book even though the cover looked promising. Sucks not having the use of an online translator while I am at work.

I can find out the one's you don't know if there's a J-name somewhere in the index or on the pictures. Probably. That actually sounds like an interesting change for Tony, do you know if they were game related?
Lol! The collectors cards thing; when did this trend start? It's like, cards of screen shots of the anime series. Precious Memories. I got taken on a K-ON book like that -_- Was able to sell it on though, to another victim ^^; Even with all the translating in the world, some of the wording is intentionally vague so you'll end up buying it. You would just think there would be more description reviews from Japanese buyers who got burned.

I think it was based on Working if I am not mistaken. The first couple pages is full color porn and there's a few more of another character with her butt facing out but I don't think she's a character from Working. The rest are his normal stuff. The last part of the doujin is B&W hentai based on Working by the looks of it.
There are names on those couple posters in Japanese. I can see about getting them to you so you can let me know who they are. I'd appreciate that very much.
Yeah that card magazine(?) and a few others went into a box and into my closet. Their fate will be decided later. I now have 3 1/2 shelves of art books. I'm catching up to you ... NOT! LOL. Gonna need more shelving soon if this keeps up ...

Ah, thanks for the info. I hope Tony releases another book like Collect1 again soon. When he did that last one, I thought/hoped it was about to become a regular occurrence. But it seems like he's even stopped with the Graph series.
It's easier than you'd think to catch up with me! I tend to sell off the ones I don't like when I have the time for it. I only have 5 shelves per bookcase, and two books cases, and some of that is magazines XD

The big order has shown up ... nice BIG box full of goodies. Most are older, like a 2010 and 2009 calenders. Funny thing is, I searched for these on AP and they aren't there so looks like have something to scan. Nat, I may have to use your expertise for names again. Here's a couple things I got.

Loads of pretty stuff! Calendars get missed all the time for scanning, in part because of their size, and in part because they're only available for a little while. Will help on any names I can :3

Two calenders came in cd cases so they are pretty small. The calender in particular that I was referring to that I thought would be there is a Macross Frontier one. Not much came with the Fate stuff other than the little figure. The manga was nice looking, lots of nice artwork, b&w of course, that's why I said I'll wait for the English version ... if it ever comes out. The scans I posted were from that. There music cd's, cards, plastic cases and file folders, some small wall tapestries, seven bags and one plushy. There were a couple of phone straps and buttons too. Plus some stickers. And two fans. All in all I'm not disappointed. I would, however, trade all the goodies for more stuff to scan. I forgot to mention two small pillow cases too.

Aika Complete Fanbook Very nice book with story lines and some nice color images. There are character and machine profiles as well. And, of course, it's in Japanese ... like all the rest :)
Tobimono Girls This artbook is full of panty shots ... because it's done by Noriyasu Yamauchi, the illustrator for anime's like Aika, Megami Paradice, Najica and Stratos 4 to name a few. If you like panty shots, planes and guns, you'll like this book.
G's Magazine Brighter Than Dawning Blue product guide There are a lot of small but nicely illustrated images in this book. Character profiles, story lines and without nudity too! Go figure ...
Omamori Himari ... unfortunately, I couldn't find a link for this book. But it's nicely illustrated and has character profiles and story lines. Plus voice actor and actresses profiles.
Otome Youkai Zakuro Artbook and Manga The artbook has about 20 pages of color illustrations then it has character, voice actors and actresses profiles followed by story lines. The manga is full color.
Charity Illustration Book "Smile/Yell" For the earthquake victims of Japan. Cover illustration is by Carnelian.
Metronome ~Mana Mitsui Art Works~ Beautifully illustrated hardcover book. There's a full color story at the end of the book too.
Rin Sin Visual Art Works All I can say is Wow. It's full of Queens Blade and Ikki Tousen images. Throw in some older works of Words Worth, Twin Angels and others and all I can say is Wow.

Love the art for this one, but especially the designs by Lily Hoshino. Hopefully, she'll release a book with that and Penguin Drum! But if it happens, it'll probably be years from now when I no longer care XD
I bought Smile/Yell too, really diverse group of artists in that, many of whom I wasn't familiar with at all especially towards the back of the book.
