When I try to view a paper that has a lot of comments, it gets really laggy and then closes :(
is there a way to reduce the lag? like hiding the comments :/

Sounds more like your browser is having problems than the site. There's nothing here that should be causing it to close. Might want to change browser or update / reinstall the one you are using.
