Once your favorite show is over, how do you go about looking for a new show to follow? Do you have set characteristics or preferences for anime? Examples: hot anime babes, slice of life, yaoi, hentai, music?

It is not always the amount of details that makes a good wallpaper. Sometimes, a simple yet unique idea (in this case to find a certain screenshot from an anime) can create a lovely wallpaper for Valentine's day. popiahime's "Pikachu's Valentine" is funny to look at (I totally love the bottle's design!), and it composes a sweet design for people's desktops. Even though I'm not a big fan of white backgrounds, this one fits really well to the composition and the rest of the colours.

Personally, I look at the covers, the front cover characters of anime can tell a lot about an anime. Take Bleach for example Ichigo looks like he has secrets and been through somethings in life. When you see funny looking charters like FLCL and shinshan its usually not that action, drama, and mysteries around every corner, and you can feel empathy. I also look at ratings and comments and the story lines. Once I even goggled one or two wallpaper characters and I found one of my favorite anime series Neon Genesis.

I'm prefer good artwork first. Then stories second. I really like watch anime that have great artwork. For this season, SAO exceed my expectation. This is high budget anime.

For me, an anime must get a good design. It's more important than the story.
Most of animes are more or less 13 episodes. It's kinda short, it's difficult to create a good story over 13 episodes... So i never blame animes for a ( banal, annoying, boring, already seen...) scenario
At least, even if the story isn't that interesting, the design can compensate it. It's more or less well balanced, right?
Obviously, an anime who got a cool story, and good design is the best case.

It would be plus points if the cover is appealing. I'd also want having a great summary to see how the story would go and if it's really worth my time. I just want a great anime plot.

I am looking for interesting anime with great plot (and funny if possible) so I go to AniDB and start reading about new anime whitch begins in new season.

I'm just reading the descriptions of the Anime from a new season. Also the drawing on the cover is important and if it's something with comedy, count me in. Also a big plus is ecchi or action or all in one.

Well, mostly I would look for anime on anidb and animenewnetwork. The next anime to watch would be of the same genre of the last one i have watched. For example, from week to week I watch one hentai anime (weekends only!!) and mostly watch romance and seinen anime throughout the week... it looks like a job.. lol :) But when you get hooked on anime, you can never let go!

I really prefer shounen anime over other genre. I like something with funny characters, awesome art, and decent to great story. I don't really have high standards when picking up what to watch next. As long as it's entertaining, I'm okay with it. I'm looking for anime like One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Flame of Recca, Hunter X Hunter, Fairy Tail and the likes. Sometimes I feel like watching Ecchi anime with lots of action.

If I could see that her character has some interesting. Then followed the story with the lines in the animation. Again, I hope it's the song lyrics that matter.

For me art style is the first thing i look at if its just weird or i just dont like it then i stop right there. Then i look at what kind of story it is i generally like most types like Echi, Action, Harem, Comedy or Slice of life.

Almost every anime at first glance from an anime countdown Involves me looking for certain art styles. I prefer more modern looking styles. The ones at stand out ill then look at their Anime openings which require me to get an emotional attachment to the visuals and music.
Second to these find a character i can get attached to, Theres also the animes Integrity and my intention of watching them 1. Some are just to be a perv since i dont expect any good story from the anime. 2. Some are for Action and the Unqiue combat concepts behind them.
3. And of course pure laughing fun.
Funny enough every anime iv watched have all drawn me in because of their openingsthis also defines the music i like. Probably the largerest pull i had was Guilty crowns sound track Bios, My dearist and The Everlasting.

I tend to look for something I think will be a good story or have interesting characters. Then my friend (who keeps up better than I do) tells me what to watch and I do :)

If the last anime watched becomes on of my favorites then I search on similar anime. Or sometime just search in my favorite genres and pick the on with the higher score. But, new, I avoid the one with ecchi and/or harem (and are like a half or all new anime :| )

I just look for animes with similar content as my favorite animes

i look for comedy, action, fantasy. the artwork comes second when the story is good. but it's better if the artwork is good. for example, i like code breaker, but i think the artwork should be improved

I look at the summaries and previews of an anime, then I research it to see if its something I am willing to watch. I prefer animes that have good artwork and a good/interesting story. Good music is a definite plus, but not necessary.
