This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

"Amazing collage of many of my favourite Final Fantasies!

An excellent balance on either side of the wallpaper and I find my eyes are not drawn anywhere in particular at any given time. There is an almost storyboard like feel to it that any person who has not played anything from the Final Fantasy series would feel a spark of interest.

The thumbnail definitely does not do any justice, so download now."

"Just Right...

In my humble opinion, your latest alterations has brought this backdrop out just right. In truth, I was excited to see the newest variation and very glad to have something as neat as this to greet me when I start my computer now.

As far as I'm concerned, this is just Ka Pai ((Choice)) and I thank you for your awesome contribution. Rock on... ^_^"

"I'm liking this a-lot...

As this picture loads, the sky blows me for a six with its intensity and detail, it almost looks real in some aspects. The shooting star ads an effect of realism that I cannot ignore, and think, ads a touch of personality to the point of the star being something a wanderer would see on a regular occasion - an excellent addition.

The tree's and Kenshin blend in well in terms of the fog/mist effect you have gone for, and the distance from the camera angle to the tree's seem to be just right in terms of blur, which makes this just right and something I look forward in the future.

However, as "tnelly", above, mentioned in their post, Kenshin and the ground he is standing on fails to blend in properly. To my eye, it looks like Kenshin is ontop of the grass, instead of being inside it. One way I think you might be able to remedy that is bringing Kenshin back behind the grass ((if it is layered that way)), or blur out his legs/feet - or even darken them out to match the grass' colour and then gradient it out as it goes up his body.

I'm really glad I happened upon this, and I can't wait to see it when it is ready for the main community. Thanks for your hard-work thus far, it looks like it's really paying off... ^_^"

I'LL NEVER LEAVE YOU BEHIND

"Man, ripping wallpapers is so disrespectful to the original artists.

The fact that you can't make your own does not give you the right to steal other peoples work. This one has been on my computer since the 21st of September, 2006, and on Minitokyo where I first picked it up since February 2005. I have the link to Minitoky where it was first picked up, where it is signed by signed by the original artist ((as stated above by "elfmoogle")), and uploaded by the same.

Seriously, if you like Ichigo, or the wallpaper itself, read APNET's FAQ's, go back to the drawing board ((removing this one in the process)) and try again. You can do it, if you put a bit more energy into your work."

"It's... empty?

I don't know about the majority of APNET users, but I generally like to see where the wall has came from in terms for a description of what you did to create it, and more importantly the point behind it. When descriptions of that calibre are concerned, it would be interesting to learn where the joke that seems to be the focus of the wallpaper comes from because I don't really get it.

Just a thought..."

The Journey Continues

"
Simply Awe Inspiring...

You capture the mood, the darkness of that scene, so well that I find myself almost brought into that scene because of its activity - as if I were to the one standing there. Usually I avoid highly busy wallpapers, but this one has a perfect balance between the activities, and where they are located - meaning I am not drawn to one area of the wall in particular, which ultimately makes it lop-sided, but I found my eyes circled around the image, taking everything in. This is a skill that I cannot ignore, and applaud you on.

The time you took in making this has paid off, and I can almost see it become Featured in the very near future so everyone can marvel in this absolutely perfect piece.

Thank-you for your hard work, and for ultimately sharing it with us all... ^_^"

Ruthless Sunset

"I am not usually one for taking part in session zero comments, but...

I felt this one required a little input. I'm not exactly sure where to begin... So, lets go with the first that comes to mind... as it has been said in the above posting, this character and backdrop is not from Hack, it is from a game called "Primitive Link", published by "Purple Soft". This majestic person is the character Sione. This primarily for everybody else's benefit, because she is a beautiful characters to say the least and it is always nice to put a name to a face... ^_^

Anyway, second point that I have noticed is I have had this --exact-- image on my computer since it was uploaded onto Minitokyo in October 2007 ((I actually found the scan and have once more bookmarked the URL for future reference)). Less the claimant that you designed this yourself in terms of your signature, it is untouched - barring the substantial decrease in resolution from the one supplied of 1600 x 1200.

I do hope that you can do better than take an image from another hosting site, slap your signature on it and pass it off as something you have done. If you wish to upload scans and such, then perhaps you should use the scans section in the future?

Perhaps taking this image and placing it onto another backdrop would be a good start if you wished to make a backdrop of her... it has been done as before? Just a passing suggestion..."

"Rock on!

Just as I am going on a great big Tsuyokiss hunt, this comes along, starting up the Tsuyokiss wallpaper section. WOOT! With a few scans available on AP, and several others floating around the internet in CG collections, I am looking forward to seeing many more enter this section in the near future.

As for the opening act, pink isn't exactly my style, but in truth I am biased to say that I prefer any colour as long as its black. But, I am pleased to see that the artist information is unobtrusive, and the colour combinations mix well. However, I feel that the caption made the backdrop a little lop-sided, leaving empty space on the right with nothing to fill a space that draws my attention away. If the main focus ((Erika)) was shifted a little to the right, it would compensate this fact.

Regardless, thank-you for sharing and displaying the fruits of your time... ^_^"

"Thumbnails do not do this justice

I am simply amazed when I opened this full screen. Initially I was hesitant and thought this to be slightly overrated, but when it was fully loaded, I can say I was honestly stunned back into my chair.

Amazing quality, the sharpness is absolutely superb for our main focus, and the items in the background are just enough out of focus to make it look authentic that those items really are far enough behind the main focus as depicted. Excellent shading that keeping with the darker time of day depicted by the sky.

An excellent piece that I am happy to save away on my computer for a time when I feel just right to enjoy this piece as a backdrop ((IE, when I have a wide-screen monitor o_o))

Thank-you for sharing... ^_^"

Wolf and Riding Hood

7 months 2 weeks ago

"I'm in near stitches!

This is an amazing take on something that seems so innocent on the surface. Granted, the look on little Reds face keeps true to that innocent vibe, but I'm going to leave it there.

Because I don't think I can come up with any puns, like I have seen from previous users ((Riding Little Redhood, that is rich stuff, baov)), I'm just going to stick to my thoughts on the artwork, and the wall as a whole.

As far as the back of the wallpaper being poorly done, I have to disagree. Instead of just having Red and the Wolf together on the left hand side, and leaving the right hand side empty, having that black and white image in the background makes sure that the wallpaper is evenly balanced, leaving limited white ((clear)) space, while it also adds extra depth to what I believe is trying to be portrayed. A double whammy.

I am of the opinion that it is actually the wolf's idea, or thought while she is holding Little Red, that gives more body to the wallpaper. This is definitely download worthy and will become the backdrop on my laptop when I wake it from its slumber tomorrow morning.

Thanks for sharing!"

"And intriguing piece to look at

Wallpapers with a deeper meaning are something that will interest most of us. There was something subtle about it the wallpaper that drew me in and made me keep looking until I realized what it was my unconscious mind had seen.

Very effective use of imagery that ads extra meaning and insight into the caption - something that you don't see at first glance. An image that I will not hesitate to take a second, third, or fourth look at when I drop back to my desktop.

Very good work. Definitely download worthy.

Thanks for sharing."

""You're being watched..."

Quite the intriguing wallpaper...

As far as black and white wallpapers go, as I'm a sucker for them, this one doesn't exactly stand out at first glance, but having downloaded it into full size for the sake of curiosity ((that and I didn't have anything else to do)), I corrected myself into thinking this was quite worthy of the download.

I am now getting a very chilling feel every time I revert back to my desktop, because his eyes are now looking at me from the other side of my monitor. That is an impressive feeling to get from just a wallpaper.

The Vector is clean and crisp, with no visible irregularities, and the red petals are a nice touch that I didn't notice on my first viewing. A very beautiful piece of work that I am pleased to now has my background.

Well done!"

"Incredible... 1,000 words, one image... Should there be more said?

The strength captured in such a moment is the true skill of an artist, and I placing it into colour is a tribute to such an incredible moment caught in time. Having added the caption to it, you seemed to have intensified the moment the original artist was trying to convey to a point where you can almost feel her heart, if not her soul trying to get her emotions across.

All in all, it is download worthy and I am pleased to have added it to my computer so I can view it later. Thank-you for sharing ... ^_^"

"Go Shigure!

He just loves teasing his poor editor. This image perfectly shows his affinity for teasing her, and also shows off that goofy nature that our dearly beloved dog shows off.

As mentioned in the 'featured' comment, this perfectly gives off the "Full House" look without making everything seem too busy. Having the main characters in the centre, while the boarder is made out of the cherry blossoms is a perfect effect - almost as if the image is an open window into the entire series of Fruits Basket.

The only thing that really detracts from this beautiful wall, is the fruit nearest Tohru and the food laid out before Kisa and Hiro, as it doesn't exactly look like it belongs there. It ends up looking a little too bright and manufactured, for use of a better word. However, that is so minor that everything else makes up for it as you tend to forget it's even there in the end... You do end up just looking at it and seeing a rather happy situation that can't help but make you smile.

Rock on, and thanks for sharing!"

Attention Bunnies! We have a Stranger !!

1 year 5 months ago

"What a hoot!

I couldn't help but chuckle as this downloaded. The thumbnail doesn't quite do it all that much justice. Both the scan and the implanted image match perfectly in their use of shading, colour and as you mentioned previously - messy - styles, so that everything seems like it is meant to be there. There is nothing worse than having an image where the person, or thing of focus, is messy, while the rest of the image is crisp, clean and sharply made - or visa versa.

As I think somebody has said before, it does kind of have a grunge theme to it, especially in the way that the bunnies have zips across their mouth's. If not that, the caption gives out an ominous feeling that not all will be well for this stranger.

Anyway, this has instantly replaced by current backdrop and I'm pleased to say, it suites my mood to a T at the moment. Thanks for sharing!"

ORO?!

1 year 5 months ago

"Ahhhh, Good 'ol Kenshin.

Being his most commonly used phrase in the entire Anime, Oro has become his trademark.

Anyway, regardless of its simplicity, this is a very funny wallpaper to look at. The colour you decided to use, how it blends from a very orange like colour and into a red makes the backdrop scream out just the same exclamation our dear Kenshin used to. He usually used that expression when he was shocked, curious or just afraid and the orange and red combination has always been a 'danger', 'warning', 'shocked' set that one would use.

Simply put, I think that a green would clash and you wouldn't get the same feeling you'd get from this combination. All over, download worthy if you want to treat your friends to something a little shocking when you start up your computer. They'll take one look and they'd have to go "oro"?.

Kikoe masu ka? Lenalee?

"Very Well Done. Collab work at its finest!

You two must have had quite a-lot of fun while making this, because it shows in the intricate details and time spent between the vector, and every other aspect of this wallpaper.

I especially love the way that the ground seems to blur as it leads away from the main focus of the image, being Lenalee and Allen's hands. It seems to ad an increased effect on the time of day depicted, as I am sure I am not the only one that finds that during Sundown things tend to blur out at a distance. I am not entirely sure whether that is just my own eyesight, or mind, or in-fact was an intended effect.

Either way, it is an extremely beautiful piece of work and I am pleased to have come across it. I hope to see more collaborations between the two of you in the future, as I can foresee much more intriguing and exciting things. Thanks for sharing!"

Tenjou Tenge

"The Three Top Guns of Tenjou Tenge... Booyaka!

Effective use of empty space, and well balanced. Having Aya holding the Raki and giving off such a huge challenging stance in the background gives the use of Maya and Souichiro in the foreground all the more premiss that they belong there, as Aya does tend to fight her own battles for the most part from what I have found with the series thus far.

And for that reason reason, Maya and Souichiro seem like they belong like that in such a challenging pose. Having Nagi with his back turned gives off his bad-boy appeal, while Maya gives off a very 'imposing' feeling, regardless of her state of undress after turning from 'midgit chick' form, as Souichiro so aptly puts it.

Rock on. Thanks for sharing!

That is an awesome image, coupled together with a totally amazing caption. I want to know where that came from. I know in the animated series Souichiro made a similar speech to Aya after her fight with one of the Executive Council, but I am pretty sure that it wasn't like that.

"Woah... hey, man that is bright.

I can understand the intense idea of May weilding the Raki, but to a point where she begins to have no boundaries to the background makes it hard to enjoy the image all that much. A little tone down on the contrast and a touch back on the brightness would have made this an excellent background.

Thank-you for sharing your work mind you, Maya's stance with the Raki is incredible!"

"Oohh, very nice.

Giving Shin that kind of blue hue gives him a ghostly quality. I know it wasn't exactly the kind of effect sought, but considering the fact that Shin is dead through the first part of the manga ((I haven't delved any further)), it seems quite apt an idea.

Anyway, it's an interesting piece of work that I know will get me thinking when I have a closer look at it.

Thanks for sharing!"

"Very Impressive indeed.

I am very intrigued with the use of blurring to focus your attention to the sessions model. That is the first thing that really stands out. The second is the caption - it doesn't intrude on the rest of the wallpaper, to a point where I hardly notice it is there.

On a more personal note... I could not contort like that for any length of time... Period. My hat goes off to people who do keep themselves in poses of similar constraint.

Anyway, thank-you for sharing the efforts of your hard work.

"Yay for Black and White! Worth the wait while it opens!

I still don't know what it is about black and white that gets me so interested. I guess it is because I see things in colour all day, that having something where I imagine the colours out to be something that sparks more thought than the usual ones I get.

Anyhoo, regardless of the fact that I haven't read anything into where these two come from, I get the distinct impression that they are partners in something. Not necessarily crime, but given the darkish style to the man I get the distinct impression of something dark between the two. At least that is what I get from the whole emotion the image gives out.

A real fine piece of work with nothing that overly detracts from it.

A very worthwhile addition to my wallpaper collection! Thank-you for sharing!"
