"Not much really to bring out about this wallpaper other than . . . IT'S FRICKIN' AWESOME!
I like the colors you chose, but in particular I like how the background perfectly compliments and balances the foreground. In the foreground we have your typical well drawn detailed anime person. And then the background contrasts that by it's lack of 'details' (shading, crosshatching etc.) but clear cut and distinct randomly laid lines that give this a 'modern' feel. You had a great concept when you made this and you get a 90% out of 100.

"Well I like wallpapers with a dark color scheme to begin with, and this wallpaper demonstrates why. It emphasizes the presence of your subject without giving away many of it's details. And even though the swords are obviously not the subject, their placement draws your eyes right to the center. (which that’s an old optical trick in the book but it works.) I also like phrase that you used at the bottom 'distance beyond ones reach' I don't know why, but it works. "The ultimate downfall of this wallpaper is not the matrix esque japanese lettering. It's not the slightly hard to see Death Note logo in the middle of the picture. It's not the lack of color in the overall image. It's the fact that your centerpiece picture of L, is boring.
A character with so much depth, so much distinction, very subtle details of his facial features. But the picture you chose of him, is boring. It lacks the feeling of L, it's flat, detail-less, and not a very good profile image to start with. Out of the numerous drawings of L in the manga that you had to choose from, the hundreds of hand drawings (some of which are really quite good) and the thousands of images that you could have stolen from the T.V. show.
You instead found the most boring picture of L you could I’ve seen, THAT is the downfall of this otherwise fairly decent wallpaper. 26% out of 100. The image dug this wallpapers grave.

"I saw this wallpaper, the colors drew me in initially. But then I found myself wondering 'where is this going?' Your picture makes no sense, it does not accurately portray the very sullen tone that the series sets for itself. The picture does not portray the mood that Ed often finds himself in, and the pose makes no sense at all.
And then the background. . . it almost looks like Ed is walking through a very flourishy hell, and doing so happily. I don't see any major flaws in the engineering of your image, it just lacks proper sense and for this it gets: 38% out of 100. Sorry man, better luck next paper.

"I've seen this picture before and I liked the image then. But then I see this wallpaper and I find myself even more drawn to it.
I like the grunge effect that you added, it gives the picture a kind of greasy feeling. (being that Winry is a mechanic this is perfect for her) I also like the sepia shade that you gave to the overall image. That matches with the sort of 1930's feel that the series had.
However despite where this wallpaper succeeds, it fails in other places. While there is nothing wrong in particular with the image, it lack the compelling feeling that would make me want to display it on my PC on a regular basis. The image isn’t dynamic enough. Truth be told, that isn’t necessarily any fault in your design of the image, it is just the inherent problem with the image you chose. 75% out of 100, decent job.

"I think it would have been a wiser choice if you made the drawing appear more detailed. Simplistic design works when you have a complex subject. However when your subject is simplistic as well it does not compliment the art if you tone down the detail on it. I mean I like the concept of the sword sticking out from a mountain with it's tassel flowing in the wind. But the way you executed the concept was not as tasteful as it should have been. " View

My only complaint about the wall is the bird sitting on the branch. . . .*sigh*. . . .It looks really small for a bird, like a bird the size of a bumblebee, too out of proportion. But it can be forgiven since it's your first wall, and otherwise there are no major flaws.
