This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

"Considering the fact it wasn't done in photoshop, it's not half bad.
As for the background... I want to like what you did with the arrows, and after awhile of looking at it the viewer gets what it means...but that's the problem. it doesn't directly convey the point. At first it looks like the arrows are just slapped there, and even in their references they a little more vague than I'd like.
As for a first wall , not half bad at all considering no Photoshop/illustrator... there's much better first attempts but they obviously used a bit more higher profile image editors than MS paint :)
Also props to choosing Loyd, guy doesn't get enough walls.
As far as suggestions, I'd more than highly recommend at least Photoshop Elements 6 at the very least with the ideal being Photoshop/variant. It'll make you're life easier and your walls will look better for it. I'd also recommend a bit more blending of the background and the scan as well...the scan and the black go together, but the text and arrows really don't blend at all with the wall as a whole. In part it's due to the their color, but mostly due to blending.

"Some applaud and critique.
First I would like to say that this is an amazing ghost in the shell wall. The perspective and the city/background itself as a whole is quite impressive and the vector is nicely done. Also the fact that the city is from scratch is quite impressive.
As far as critique goes, (all of these which were probably mentioned previously), there's a building right underneath the Major's head that is missing either a side or a front, and the lighting on the sides of the roads and the roads themselves are semi-distorted/not in proportion. While in a way it adds a surreal affect to most of the wall, the third road from the left of the wall initially looks very odd. Aside from that the building shadows are a little off in places, particularly on the left side of the wall.
Ah I almost forgot to mention the sky, it's marvelously fitting. The angle of the clouds in relation to the rest of the wall add a significant amount of depth and detail to the perspective in a positive manner and is nearing upon eye-candy, well dark and stormy eye-candy but eye-candy nonetheless. A little more detail could possibly be added in places to improve the affect but as a whole it works very well for the wall.
Lastly, the black bars...I personally have mixed feeling on them. While I'll agree that add a different and nice contrast to the wall, they at the same time can detract from the great piece of work you've done. If it was to great a pseudo-wide screen affect , possibly make a widescreen wall size to begin with (or borrow a friends monitor to do it :) ). If it was included just to add an affect of contrast to the wall possibly add another horizon element to it. As it is I think it is fine for the particular wall, for the most part.
Overall a really great wallpaper and one of the better Ghost in the shell wallpapers I've seen. It definitely deserves a favorite and I look forward to seeing your future work/improvements. " View

"Really quite a wonderful Teresa wall. I love the background cloud/mist affect and the overall use of lighting. The only thing that I can see is the lips seem less detailed that the rest of her via lineart/etc.
I love the background, the text, the lighting, superb vectoring...the thumbnail doesn't do it justice. Really an amazing job; a new favorite.

"The style and design of this wallpaper is really nicely done. I particularly like the blood spatter affect created and the reflection of the sword.
Really quite a good wall, only thing that detracts from it, at least for me, is the hilt of the sword doesn't have a connected feel with the blade of the sword. That in part probably has to do with the amazingly done reflection element on the sword so either way I suppose it works.

Where to start...
As usual it is another simply amazing wall by you. The background, the text, the vector of ichigo all create a nice synergy.
The background with its paper with splatter paint style (the thumbnail does not do it justice) is marvelous.
Also i really like the contrast created by ichigo versus the rest of the wall, having him be the main object in black and white with his dark blue pants help him fit seamlessly into the wall while still maintaining a distinct presence.
Again another magnificent wall by you (magnificent doesn't do it justice, I could commit on probably about 25 other things I love about the wall ), you truly do beautiful near awe inspiring work.

"Alright, first of all I'd like to say I love the overall feel of your wall :)
Some things I noticed:
1) Eureka's facial coloring is a bit darker than the coloring of her legs. I'd opt for using the color/shade used on the legs but as long as it matches it should be fine.
2) The left side of the rectangle on the board is a bit overextended past the top portion of the rectangle.
3) The Left to Bottom-Left Side of the wall feels kind of odd vs. the heavy glowing right side. Maybe either ease up the glow a bit around Eureka or add a light glow around either the text or planet. An outline/glow around the continents of the planet might work as well...in any event experiment :)
Again I really really like the concept of the wall, can't wait to see it finalized. :)" View
