Truly a masterpiece as always. The feeling of being dwarfed by the surrounding nature hangs heavily in this work due to the use of both horizon spanning forest tops and close up flora (the tree and bushes.
And having the whole wallpaper bathed in sunset hues creates a really sombre mood which matches the characters well.

I'd prefer to have some (2 or 3) window lights shining out so as to give some life to the castle. The character looks a tad bit too bright here. I'd tweak the levels to make her colours darker and richer. That would look nice with the diffused glow effect. Currently she looks kinda too "white" when compared to the background.
Font choice is perfect IMO. Love the crescent moon accompanying it and the three sentences are very interesting." View

Overall, I think this wallpaper is neatly done but the white wispy things that surrounds her is overdone in the areas near the moon and also in the top right area of the wallpaper. You might want to tone down the amount of it so as to reveal more black space to balance out the area covered by the wispy effects.
I noticed that the outlines on the rock which she is sitting on and also the the lines on the hair in certain areas seem to be "steppy". Not sure what happened in the walling process that resulted in that, but you might want to do something to either rectify that or try to make it less noticeable" View

Anyway, superb coloring of the character on Vince's part and nice scene composition for the background. Having the petals form words on a grassy hillside is a very romantic idea (even if it says father instead of Vince *wink*).
As for the petals, I think more variety of red hues should be used since the petals all seemed "joined". There should be dark reds to give the impression of shadows (but that would be a daunting task, isn't it). Rose bush should be bigger, given the size of the rose flowers themselves.
The rocks look great but the ground directly beneath it should be darker grey since that area is most shielded from sunlight.
"If you want to improve on your walling techniques, the best way is to do a background that is truly your own. By trial and error, only then can you get an actual feel of making a wallpaper and from that experience, improve on the overall quality of your future wallpapers. That is my recommendation.
Why? It is because using a real-life photo for a background doesn't need much of a second thought. Just pick a nice fitting background, put on an extracted character and you have a wallpaper. In some forums, this would be called a "slapped-on" wallpaper or instant wallpaper (just like instant noodles, add in hot water and it's ready to go).
Another thing is that there is nothing to comment about the wallpaper. The reason why there is a wallpaper section in anime forums is for people to learn how to make better wallpapers by receiving critiques and reviews. That is my opinion of wallpapers to its strictest sense.
Anyway, I'll still comment on the character itself (since that is the only thing commentable) and I think it's well extracted with some minor improvements still needed. Another thing is that the character is too blurred. If you want to go for a blurred look, my advice would be to create a duplicate layer of Lucy and then apply some gaussian blur (I always use either 2.5 or 5.0 for the value). Next, fade the gaussian blur by maybe 50% or so and then reduce opacity to your preference.
Anyhow, I do hope you can come up with a wallpaper which you can truly (and proudly) call your own. Who knows, maybe you will make a name for yourself among the walling community (and also anime wallpaper collectors) like Nat, Bantam, LSE, Sir Boingalot, Andrea, Red, Redxxii and many others." View

Ingenious use of textures. It gives the wall that "let it all out" feel. Plus, the wall would make a good rugged outdoor jeans promo poster.

As for the background, it'd be better if the scenery were not 100% used from manipulated stock. It still looks too realistic when compared to Ed and AL. Try making your own because that'd make the background look much more suited to the characters. Make the background look as if it was from the anime itself.
