Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! Your title for it made me think at first of the country song lyrics, "And we'll raise up our glasses against evil forces singing, 'whiskey for my men, beer for my horses...'", which actually fits the theme of Gurren Lagann somewhat too, lol.

"Personally I think this would be ready for submitting if you wanted to. The only real thing that it may need is the left side seems a little bland. The textures are excellent all over this, but there really isn't anything visually interesting going on on the left side.

I recommend making the King Kittan mechs a bit more transparent for instance, so their will be more of a focal point on Kittan's face, and also I'd get rid of the Gurren-dan/show logo in the corner since although yeah that logo looks awesome by itself, it really conflicts with everything else in this composition and just ends up making it look cluttered.
You may want to move his name text out of the corner and experiment with placing it in different places, but that's not really a big deal." View

The way the scan blends into the background and doesn't heavily contrast is a nice touch, though the text seems a little too crisp on the edges. Not bad at all though!

"It's not a bad wall by any means, but it seems kind of plain seeing how the focal point is Athrun, and there isn't much to pull you're eye's focus from that. The gulls are a nice touch, but other than that there isn't a whole lot interesting in the background.

The lines for shading on the clothing look fine since it gives it texture, but the lines on his skin don't quite give the impression of the right texture." View

"It looks like you've made great progress, and the only things I can think of is you may want to add highlights/reflections to the water. The wave effect on the wall in the back area looks fine, but to make it look better spacially, I'd add a shadow to the water on one side or the other, and then use deeper shadows on the rocks to give them more depth.
Aside from that, the only other thing I can think of to make it look better as a wall is perhaps adding a phrase somewhere on it like, "Wanna go for a swim?" or something to that effect, preferably in the area of water to the left of her.
