After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!
"Hello and Greetings once again Angel. Now as a guy, I don't know if I'm allowed to like "Loveless," but I can't help myself XD. Along those lines, for me to say this is one of the best walls I've seen in a bit may cause people to ask questions
I'll take the risk though! This wall is fantastic. Everything from the vector to the brush stroke choice is fantastic. The image of Ristuka is simply adorable. I've noticed poor Ristuka always ends up dressed like a girl in a lot of images of him, but hey, he seems to pull it off just fine. The butterfly wings are very nice, and add a nice stroke texture to the wall. The colors are very commanding, which I always approve of.
All that said, I see nothing bad about this wall at all. Its simply gorgeous, and deserves many A's! Time to click the Fave star ^^.
Well now I feel i need to go make a comment on a wall featuring a sexy lady, so the lovely people at AP don't wonder which side of the fence I'm on...
"Greetings and hello again Angel! It's been a bit since I've commented, so lets get right down to it. This wall is simply gorgeous. The worn textured look and various other image treatments make it very appealing, and your type is spot on.
The only negative thing about this wall is the fact I don't know what anime its from! Makes me want to watch it...
For this wall, I will click the lil fave star. Keep up the great work, as always Angel ^^
"Fantastic vector job here. Adding in the Haruhi and the Lucky Channel plug was good thinking, bringing a bit of fine detail to the wall. It also brings amusement to fans of the show, knowing about these inside jokes.
I never noticed the Left-handedness in the show, now i gotta go and watch it again (not that i needed an excuse to watch Lucky Star anyway...)
"Hello again Angel! Firstly, I'd like to say this wall has my download, fave, and full support of the Oboro-chan army (see my avatar for reference as to what the army will look like)! This is definately a new one from what you normally do, and I think you pulled it off well. I love the patterns that wind their way all throughout the work, and I love the flat color treatment given to the character. It gives the wall a strong pop effect.
The type is handled very nicely, so no complaints there, and the overall image itself is strong and ties itself together. The color palette is limited, which is good, and the image is nice and smooth, even with the texture effect (meaning that its clean and flowing). The texture doesn't harm the image in any way either.
Now my only complaint is this: Angel, you aren't giving yourself enough credit! You're a great waller, and I dare anyone to say otherwise! You gotta have confidence in yourself and your work. The people who download this, as I have, will greatly appreciate your hard work and thank you for your contribution to this site :3
Anywhoo, good wall, fave, keep up the great work, as always!
"
Hello and greetings once again Angel! I agree with Akiranyo about the less popular anime wallpaper support. But lets move on to the good stuff!
This wall is definitely in the vein that I am now labeling "The Angel-Zakuro Style" of walling, which brings us such nice landscape treatments that have a nostalgic feel to them. Looking at this wall makes me flashback a bit to my own days as a boy playing baseball. Weird considering its an anime image maybe, but that's just how the style catches me. I think this wall is very nice, and I especially like the blue sky version!
The only negative is that there is a bit of heavy negative space behind the boys (not in the blue version) and I don't know if I agree with the drastic type face change in the piece. But other than that, another great wall, and I hope this one gets quite a bit of downloads.
Keep up the good work and until next time!
EDIT!
I just clicked on the image and its different from what is showing on the thumbnail. I think the image with the butterfly and the type higher up is better than the current thumbnail image. I'd say go with what you had over the new revision XD
Ok Angel, I don't WHY you were keeping this AMG wall from me, and frankly im hurt! (stupid second page under more wallpapers from this user...XD)
Anyway! Now this is a good mixture I think of your grunge style with a lighter tone/feel. Belldandy makes it hard to do a dark and dreary wall about anyway just the way she is, so the wall probably woulda failed if you hadn't went for the brighter treatment.
The text in the back is very nice, glad to see you working type well, and your ability to defeat a crease is uncanny! I shudder thinking of creases...
Anyway, good job on this wall, and dammit if I don't have to hit another favorite from you Angel XD.
And I just favorited Chinese Flair and Until Next Time too ; ;
"Greetings and Hello once again! Ok Angel I hate to put a Fave over "Until Next Time" (especially considering I just favorited that one >.<) but I feel I must! This wall is ridiculously and almost obnoxiously cute @.@...
Beyond the characters being so sickeningly sweet i feel diabetes setting in, you did a smashing job on arrangement, composition, color treatment, and technical work. The wall feels nice and clean, good job on the clean up, the colors are nice and warm, really empathized with the steam. The steam and the warm orange give off the warm feeling, and the chinese type, though handled in a westernly fashion, works well. There are many interesting little do-dads here and there, which if over-used could scream gimmick, but this is not the case.
For this wall, you get my download and my fave! I can't resisted the uber-cuteness...
"Hello and greetings! Ok Angel, I like this wall you have here, but I think I'm a bigger fan of your brighter work. I see your usual treatment here, and though it is a safety to fall back on, I would suggest trying to branch out, like you did with your last work "Until Next Time." I think that you did such a nice job on that wall personally.
Anywhoo, I don't have too much to say on this piece, but I do say good job, but think about other venues of travel on your journey into creativity. You have a talented eye, and I look forward to seeing what you will produce next time :D
"Now let's start off by saying this: Download and Fave. Now lets move to the critique!
Hello and Greetings! Now Angel, this is your best wall yet (that I've commented on anyway). I looked at that scan you worked from, and all I can say is...damn! I myself normally shy away from such heavily mutilated images. But you charged in there and fought the evil page crease monster and saved 2 damsels in distress! Looks like you lost one and some roses though...
Now beyond the fact you did a fantastic job on the clean up and arrangement, you also threw in your painter background you are sticking true too. And lets move beyond that now to the meaning you can feel in this wall. I have never seen this anime, but you have handled it so well in the arrangement, color treatment, and type, that I'm sad to see them graduating. I don't even know the characters, yet I can feel that twinge of sadness, yet joy at moving on that is later categorized as nostalgia.
You keep running in this direction and eventually you'll hit the sun. Or, somethin like that...
"Hello and greetings Angel, sorry for the delay on comments on your walls, but I kinda passed out for a week...but enough of that!
As has already been said, very nice job on the vector for this wall. I downloaded it and stared at the eye detail for a while. Love the treatment you gave them. Now I have never seen this anime, and don't know anything about the character, but I would assume that the character here would be considered a badass. Though the vector is good, I would of maybe pushed her a bit further back and added a bit of dynamic pose to her somewhat. Well this is a vector of a scan so I guess it would be a little tough to alter her, but enough o that.
Over all it is a good wall. It's not your best I don't think, that goes to your Loveless wall, "Come What May," but it is a good wall. And the vector job is really great. I see you are still playing with the painterly elements btw...
"Lol ok i know i commented once, but you tossed a revision up, and what a good revision indeed! You have worked the type much better, and the background blending is quite nice :D!
If i could favorite it again I would, but I am probably pushing my luck with a second comment :X...
very good work once again! And that's a good point, that's gotta be one hell of a sword with a handle like that :o...
"Now this is what I was talkin about with good use of type! I think you really captured Ritsuka's mood very well in this piece, and the photo motiff really ties in well with Ritsuka as a character proper.
The type truly makes this piece too. It fits well with the manga, referencing to Ritsuka's thoughts laid out, as they usually are in the manga. The type locks down the mood expressed in both color scheme and the graphic rendering.
Once again good job, fantastic type use, beautiful rendering! Download and Fave :D
Firstly, very nice wall, it's been downloaded and you get a favorite from me :D
Let's go over the positives of this wall, shall we? I would have to say you did achieve a painterly quality with the piece. The background is very post-impressionist with the heavy and unmodelled paint strokes. The figure itself is a stylized a bit differently, in more of a Baroque art style with a touch of CG mixed together, which causes the figure to "pop" more, especially with such an abstract background. Without this, the figure would melt into the background, and passed over upon a glance.
Now lets hit the negatives real fast. Firstly, the type. Its my philosophy that type can make or break a wall. In this situation, it came close to being an assassin XD. The type is too large to start with, and it is also too light. (btw this is referring to the text on the right, the title "Warrior" is fine.) It causes it to be weak, not really having much impact, and is barely legible. Also as mentioned earlier, the background and the figure are of 2 different styles. This gives the cut and paste effect, which can be very unattractive. (Not in this case though.)
Even though I have laid out these negatives, don't take them to heart. The latter negative actually works more in your advantage, since we dont want such a striking figure to be washed out by the background. Dispite my gripes, I find myself very much enjoying this wall, and I am glad to see experimentation with such positive results. The only thing I say to work on is your type work, which is a touchy thing. Try not to think of type as type but as an element of the artwork, like a brush stroke or a shape. Don't limit it to just left to right serif font or a fancy decor font, experiment with it and see what happens! The best art is usually an accident :D
...Sorry for goin off on a tangent, but i hear this lecture a lot and I get picky about type XD.
Anyway!! Keep up the good work, this wall is great, and I'd like to see some more of what you can do in this styles :D
"The background is kind of bland and boring, I do say trying something else with it. All you need right now is a solid background for belldandy and this wall will be ready to go :D
"I also agree about the text. You should give it a bit more space between the black line and the type, and actually make the type just a little bit smaller so the bottom text does not get cut off on a windows operating system, and so the the top text doesn't get cut off in a macintosh operating system (i work in both OS's so I have this problem on occasion >.<).
"Ok, I felt the need to download this very spiffy wall for one reason and one reason only: Kawaii-Chicken is off his damn rocker! Did anyone else read his comments on the wall? Freaking loony toony I tell ya! Needless to say, I giggled a lil bit...but anyway!
The wall is very nice. Has the feel that the image was painted/printed on an old brown paper bag. The rainbow is quite nice too, and a necessity! I don't think its wise to take rainbows away from Kawaii-Chicken...
Anywhoo, I'm looking forward to more rainbow-embossed walls from you Kawaii^^
Heheh, I can't wait to tell my roomies I got artwork from a crazy person...
"Yay! I'm happy to see this wall in the galleries. I gave you my spill all about in session zero, so I'll just leave at this: Great wall, can't wait to see more! All you other wallers out there take a note from from this piece here, this is good graphics
oh and download and fav. I don't a have a wide screen monitor though...
"I can see what they are saying about being filter-heavy, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. In this case, it creates a very painterly style that I think is very nice. The colors are done well, sticking with the complementary, and it does set the mood you were speaking of.
I would maybe pull back a bit on the outer glow of the figure, but otherwise I think its quite nice and ready to go. You have more artistic talent than you think my friend :D
"Text can either make or break an image, and in this case, I think its breaking. I am all for text, I love working in it, but text is a delicate thing. I think you should pull back on the text. Still have the phrase in there, but not repeated I think. I shouldn't be too big either. When dealing with images, the human eye is drawn to text first. If the type is too strong, it will overpower the entire image and the image will not be remembered.
Anyway, sorry for goin off on a tangent. I say pull back on the type some and don't center it. Listen to what the others have said about the background and such as well. With a little work, this can be a great wall I think.
"You did a good job pulling the text out of the manga cover, and I absolutely adore the image, but you may run into the problem of the wallpaper being considered a "scan to wall." Basically meaning that its only a spruced up version of the scan with no original backgrounds or various other things to it. I personally think that the wall is fine and should be ok for the galleries, I just bring this to your attention so you are aware that it is possible the wall will be rejected. I certainly hope not though, I think this wall would be a great addition to the sparse Mushi-shi gallery we have here.
And as for the crediting, if someone else does the scan or vector, you credit them, and credit yourself for the design/creation. In this case, you would credit yourself as the scan/designer. Not that its a bad thing to credit the original artist, I think thats nice and polite, but its not necessary.
"Wow, very nice wall! I love the color choice: the darks really cause the couple to pop right out of the format. It has a bit of the cherub eske feel that you get from baroque and renaissance art, yet is definately modern. The vector is very clean and smooth as well. Plus the latch of too much busy body pointless graphic cogs makes it simply enjoyable!
Keep up the good work, and im adding this as a favorite!
"Ah, sadly enough, this is the largest I could make the image before the image started becoming very grainy and pixelated. My deepest apologies to all the AP folk out there with high screen resolutions!
"Ha! When i logged on and saw this on the thumb list, i made a B-line straight for it! Besides being a Lucky Star wall with the bestest of the best from that series saying her opening line from the anime's opening, this wall has a very clean feel with a great color palette. Great job on the vector, but I really love the type use. You don't see too much heavy type use very often, but i'm a huge fan of type, so i tend to look for these things...
You got a great start so far, and i can't wait to see more work from you.

"Wow, very nice wall! I love the color choice: the darks really cause the couple to pop right out of the format. It has a bit of the cherub eske feel that you get from baroque and renaissance art, yet is definately modern. The vector is very clean and smooth as well. Plus the latch of too much busy body pointless graphic cogs makes it simply enjoyable!Keep up the good work, and im adding this as a favorite!

"Ah, sadly enough, this is the largest I could make the image before the image started becoming very grainy and pixelated. My deepest apologies to all the AP folk out there with high screen resolutions!-

"Ha! When i logged on and saw this on the thumb list, i made a B-line straight for it! Besides being a Lucky Star wall with the bestest of the best from that series saying her opening line from the anime's opening, this wall has a very clean feel with a great color palette. Great job on the vector, but I really love the type use. You don't see too much heavy type use very often, but i'm a huge fan of type, so i tend to look for these things...You got a great start so far, and i can't wait to see more work from you.
-Cheers!
