This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

The artwork for Shana is very striking, you always see her in dramatic poses. I think if you took off the scribbles of writing in the background and just kept it a textured background instead, it wouldn't look so busy. Or to make it look even more striking why not change the red background to a dark blue starry night? The possibilities are endless!

"I think your concept is good and well thought out. The only time I used GIMP was on an old mac a while back... and that's why I pay for photoshop now. lol
Anyway, there are some small details you could easily fix. Such as getting the rainbow to go off the page, instead of a few pixels away, and clean up the lines and stars. I'm not sure what that tan spot behind the character is there for, I think if you finished the rainbow all the way to the end of the wallpaper on both sides it would look more complete.
I think what you have written for the text could be more of a focal point in the wallpaper instead of the bottom corner. It's a good line of text that could bring the character and your design together very well.

"I like the colors, a lot. But I think yuko isn't getting the attention she deserves. Either you could move the curtains behind her so it makes it look like she's looking out a window. Or maybe make the background a little lighter so yuko's color is the brightest. Either way you did a great job on the vector quality. I can't wait to see the end result. ^.^" View

I do think the signature should be a bit smaller, and why not use the title of your wallpaper on your wallpaper?

Misha needs to be a little darker so she doesn't fade into the background, and maybe darken the word slightly. When you look at it your eye doesn't know where to focus first so decide what is more important to your wallpaper, the text or the character.

To tell you just how much I love this wallpaper, I have a mac that cycle 340 wallpapers every 5 seconds because I can never deal with just one. But for the first time in nearly a year and a half, I turned it off and just left your wallpaper on. I wish I could wallpaper my room with it. At least make a poster of it. lol ^.^" View
