This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

"Cosme you're awesome! I love Shin Megami Tensei! :D

Excellent job on this wall, nice job working with the scan the way you did. The only advice I'd give is to maybe tint the character just a -little- bit more red, that's about it.

Nice work!"

"I like the pallete swap idea, but the scans themselves seem a bit dull, slightly blurred and a few of their edges seem a bit jagged.

Try this:

-Duplicate the layers with the scans in them
-On the top copy, simply mess around with the blending effect to see what happens

Using the blur/smudge tool on the edges of the characters would help with the smoothness as well. Use a very small brush at about 30-50% strength and it should blend those jagged edges up nicely (focus on the black outlines of their hair and clothes, those stand out the most)

Keep up the good work :)"

"Excellent work on the texture here, it really gives a different kind of life to the wallpaper than if it were just regular vector based artwork. You also gave it a good degree of dimension with those different colored squares overlaying one another behind the characters in the background. It's a little grungy, which matches the color choice quite well, but it's not overly grungy, which I like. It's sharp, clean, yet a little dirty thanks to the grunge.

A very solid and intersting piece, nicely done!"

"Haha, I remember using this scan for one of my own walls, though it didn't come out looks as good as yours did!

Nice job, the background is a pretty common effect that I normally don't like, but there are situations where it looks good, and this is definitely one of them. The brushes you used around Fuu are great too! I may have to snag those for myself :3

Good job!"

"This is looking good!

Good job on blending the stock with the background using those same brushes in the background with an overlay (I think it's an overlay?) effect. That seems to be my problem usually, is that I can never get my stock to work with the background in an appeasing way, but this is definitely an inspiration to try some new ideas out.

Awesome job! +Fav :D"

"Excellent work!

I really like the thick lines you used on everything, it gives it a very unique feel to the entire piece. It seems dark and dreary at first, but the thick lines almost give it a bit more of a cartoony feel than that. The art on the left side is nicely done as well, and you matched all of the colors up beautifully. Everything compliments Suigintou in a good way.

Nicely done, faving this for sure :)"

"An interesting take on some classic scans!

Great work, very innovative, and it's nice and cleanly done. I really don't have much advice to give, except perhaps make the cracks on the wall pop a bit more, and maybe even have them going across some of the paint. It looks fine the way it is, don't get me wrong, but maybe messing around with that will give you something that you might like yourself.

Great work!"

"Ahh I remember this poster well :D

The silhouette effect is nicely accomplished here, you did an excellent job of uniting the entire piece using that effect, and also making them stand out in the vivid sky background. You've found a happy medium in the brightness of the sky; it's not too bright that it takes away from the figures, but it's not too dark so that we can't even see them. Although the sky effect has been done to death, I'm still in love with it.

Excellent work! +fav"

Pink Abstract

"Wow, great work here!

The abstract effect, though excessive, isn't enough to steal the show away from the character, though there is quite a lot going on around her. I like that you incorporated the image into the background by overlapping some of the abstract effects over her, something that I usually can't make work right myself, haha :P. The image is nice and clean too.

Nicely done :)"

"A very interesting wall, to be sure!

I'm really liking the way that you approached this, gave it an almost poster like feel to it. It's very nicely put together, the color range is nice; not too bright, but loud enough to jump at you.

Great job!"

Flay Away

"It's a good idea, but I think the stars a little too static. Same position, almost lined up together. Is that a brush you used? If it is, try this little technique:

-Select the star brush and to the right of your toolbar at the top where you can adjust the size and such of the brush (upper right corner) there's a little tab that should say "Brushes". If you can't find it, the short cut is F5
-Click on the first 2 tabs "Shape Dynamics" and "Scattering".
-In "Shape Dynamics", mess around with these dials:
Size Jitter
Minimum Diameter
Angle Jitter
-In "Scattering" mess around with these dials:
Scatter (The higher this is, the further apart the stars are. I recommend at least 200% here)
Count
Count Jitter

Also changing the opacity of the brush and making different hues of blue for the stars would help too. Have one layer at 80%, another at 50%, and the last at 25%, that should help out with adding a bit of depth to the stars as well.

If that was a little confusing, send me a private message with where you're having problems with, and I'll be glad to help."

"Hiya Sel! Long time no see :P

You did an excellent job at uniting the entire piece, giving everything that haunting blue aura to them. The leaf blushes add a hint of elegance to the piece as well, while the moon and cloudy effect you gave add a sad overtone to the whole piece, which unites everything with the character's expression. Even though I think the moon/clouds effect is a bit overdone, I think this is a good use of those elements. You used it to add a mood to the piece instead of just throwing in them in there just to look pretty.

I've got a long way to go to catch up to your talents, good work! :D"

Evil Roams in These Eyes

"Hi Red! :P

I'm pretty certain you haven't lost your touch, because I'm pretty certain this is looking quite good. The very slight grungy/worn effect you gave to Diva along with the background is perfect. It's not too much, but it's noticeable enough to give a slight hint of wicked that grunge usually brings. I love the eyes, they're such a deep and haunting blue that I can't help but stare...

The entire wall is mysteriously elegant, yet also sinister and dark at the same time, much like Diva is. Not only did you capture her persona perfectly, but you also added elements of her character into your background; the grunge, the blue roses, her hallway in her tower, and the font's haunting white aura matches her perfectly.

Not only will I fav this, but I think I'll also request for it to be featured, it's simply put, and incredibly well executed wallpaper.

(And you must tell me your secrets! Where'd you get that screen cap of her hallway? :P)"

"Excellent stuff here Moto.

Your scan quality is top notch and I'm loving the background too, the drawings along with the single blue for everything else works great along side the sort of cloudy background you've got going on. It's a very stylish, very simple and very easy on the eyes wallpaper.

Great job! Faving this for sure."

"Wow...

Pretty impressive work here I say, especially the forest background. Is that a picture you messed with to make it look the way it does, or did you get it from another source maybe? It looks very impressive either way.

You know, I keep seeing this sort of tiled effect over people's backgrounds, and i'm always curious as to how people do that too...

Great job!"

"Excellent work here, I wouldn't be surprised if this nabs a top rated today.

Great work on the text, a lot of artists try and use text to their advantage but it becomes a problem in the end. Your wall, however, utilizes it as an element to the background, which makes it look united and fantastic.

Great job."

Kurosaki Ichigo

"Haha well what do you know, Kyle does another wall I fall in love with.

You know, you see that effect you used in the background so much in any wallpaper (I just used it myself!) but people usually use it as just something subtle to the wallpaper. But in this, you made it the star, being the only color source on the wallpaper except for the blood on Ichigo's face. I think you made a great choice making the only color in this red, and then unifying it with Ichigo with the blood on his face, that was a really smart design move.

The way you did the cityscape background is great too. Is that a photo of a city that you manipulated or did you just draw it all out? It looks fantastic either way. And the Ichigo stock, did you mess with that too or is that just how it came and you tweaked it a bit? Either way, you must share your secrets with me :D.

Excellent work, this deserves praise."
