This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

"I am pretty noob when it comes to actually making wallpaper, because generally I prefer to appreciate other people's interpretations and art (not to mention I don't have the time to spare :'( ). Given that, I don't know how much help my opinion will offer, but here it is, and you can interpret it, as you see fit.
Personally, I think the characters are not distinguished enough from the background. Given that the color of the brick is nearly the same as their jackets. Alternatively, this could have a nice effect, if the whole bg was softened a little, to accent their presence.
Pertaining to the concept itself, I can see a lot being open to the interpretation of the viewer, which I love. Additionally, if you wanted to throw in a little flair, or a relatively more personal touch, it may emphasize your point.
Anyway, I hope that was somewhat helpful, because I am only briefly mentioning what I see. Let me know what you think, or I will wait, and comment on the finished wall :D. Good Luck, I thoroughly believe this to be a good start. " View

"I love the butterflies. One of the coolest aspects of the show are the hell's, black butterflies that seem to flitter about. Other than that, I definitely agree the colors mix well with Ichigo's relaxed character, although usually I tend to be pretty fond of the more common blues and blacks accompanying bleach wall's. I absolutely adore the text in the middle, and the little rabbit that pokes it head out into the scene. I wish I could put it as a background on my desktop, but with a resolution of 1680x1050, anything below 1280x1024 looks horrid when stretched or tiled. Still, excellent work, and I look forward to seeing more at a later date. :D " View

"As much as I love Kingdom Hearts, this is not one of my favorite wallpapers, mostly just from personal taste and preference. Aside from that however, I find it pretty astounding. The main characters, and the way they are portrayed is wonderful, and tastefully done. The effect of the wallpaper as a whole is very calming, and I find the mix of mostly neutral colors, mixed with the facial expressions of Sora and the others a very nice touch...good work, even though it's not necessarily my style, I still felt the need to comment on it regardless. xD" View

"I'm a huge fan of Abel, so any wallpaper where he is the primary depiction, not to mention trinity blood in general, is sure to catch my eye. I love the overlay texture, and the smooth transition between scenes. It very amply depicts to mood of Abel in episode 9, and is inspiring in numerous ways to say the least. I think it is a little boring in terms of color, but given the somber attitude of the entire scene, it is well deserving...good work, one of my favorites. ;)" View

The brighter one, on the flip side, is my current wallpaper, and I really like it. The picture you used of L is perfect, since it is exceptionally difficult to get a decent picture of him without having the manga on hand. Nice work, I think something could be done with a lot of the empty space, but to some extent it would ruin the effect as well. Good work, I love death note, and this is definitely a keeper. ^^
