After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! And what I've learned if you want to make it into the gallery is that you either make an abstract wall or you make a wall that is physically correct with perspectives and such. This I don't know what it is, some strange mosaic to the right and some even stranger to the left and in this mosaic there is some trapped dude? Maybe even with some full-to-low opacity bars in front.
And if you vectored the character then it should be visible, now you can barely see the vector.
Idea: make some easy nightly outdoor city bg, guy lying on the pavement, store or wall/fence in the bg? " View

"Generally, it's not too good to have an outer glow. It kinda shows that it's a poor extraction. What I have found useful is to first mark the outline with your favorite marking tool (I always use the "Pen tool"). And after you have it all marked, go to Select>Modify>Contract... and contract the selection by 1px. It might work on some scans and on some it might look crappy. Otherwise just use a bg color that fits your original scan bg.
