After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!
"I like what you've done with this. Making it darker and bluer does wonders for additional creepiness. One element that was better in the original, I feel, was the placement of the one desk; in the scan, it is coming out of the desk, while here it comes out of thin air.

"I'd somehow overlooked this wallpaper before, which was stupid of me. Since I have corrected this, and since today was one where I turned up at AP, I'll take this opportunity to comment.
First off, I love the colors; they go very well overall with Higurashi, and combine here to make a very nice wallpaper. The yellow in the foreground and purple in the background make for a great combination. I also like the grainy effects; they work splendidly with the setting and overall feel of the wallpaper. The name scrawled on the bottom right fits in well, too, and doesn't draw too much attention to itself.
The scan you used is great, too; it's a different Satoko, and this style looks good for her.

"I like this. Burning and ember-filled backgrounds are frequently nice, and feature lovely lighting and shadow effects, and this one doesn't disappoint in that department. My biggest qualm is, to be honest, your watermark; it's a bit too big and/or stands out a bit too much here, in my opinion. Maybe white would work better than black for that.

At the same time, it looks a bit unbalanced to me. Maybe it's the borders at the top and bottom, which don't really do much for me, and the bottom of which looks a bit too busy.
"I really like the black-red combination here and all the things you were able to do with it. The embers at the bottom are great, and as a fan of celestial wallpapers I like the nebula-like effect the red clouds have. I realize that probably isn't intentional, but it's still nice. The souls(?) provide an extra nice touch, too.
The sun in the upper corner looks a bit too off to me for some reason, though; maybe it should have more of the red tinge that the rest of the wall has.

"When I first saw this highlighted, until I saw the name I thought this was a Jigoku Shoujo wallpaper; I suppose I associate floating lanterns with that series than I do with Higurashi.
That aside, I really like this one. I've always been a fan of dark wallpapers (as my comments on this site and others can attest). I don't think I've as often said that I'm a fan of dark wallpapers with glowing things in them, like this one is, but I am. I really like the fireflies that have congregated around the lanterns and the lanterns' ripples and reflections.
(Personally, I think "When They Cry" sounds better than "When Ciciadas Cry", but that's just me.)

I really like the lighting, and how the light and shadows come out as well as they do, on the characters as well as the other objects in the picture. I'm less fond of the moon here; it looks nice, but it doesn't look "natural". Like it's generating, rather than reflecting the light.

"Absolutely fantastic. As Suigintou is my favorite Rozen Maiden character, I wish to collect as many wallpapers of her as I can, and I can easily approve this wallpaper for that reason alone. Which isn't to say that there aren't other reasons for doing so. The dark, moonlit background goes great with her. The window which the moon is shining through reminds me of the Traumend opening, in which Suigintou was sadly lacking. The character scan used shines through, as well, both figuratively and literally. Outstanding work.
The only real problem with it is that it's not to a scale that will fit my monitor. A few crops here and there should fix that, though. Again, a wonderful wallpaper." View
