As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

"Oh how I love that you put some texture in there! I think without the textured background, it would have looked very flat.I like that you don't have bold black lines around anything :D
Some things I want to point out are the placement of your name and the type.
I think you should have placed your name in the corner or something XD I think having your name under the headline distracts from the image. I really don't think it's necessary to have his name there either. I also think you should capitalize the "b" in "blood" XD haha sorry for being nit picky.
Aside from that, I really like your color pallet :)"

"Emilie Autumn is such an interesting musician. I'm glad you got inspired by her. As for the wallpaper itself, I think it's well done and shows some depth.I like the textures you put in the background, they really make her stand out more.
I do think you could do a little better with the type. The second line seems to get lost at the end so maybe you could fix that if you want.
Other than that, I think you did a good job at making everything cohesive and not seem like they were just pasted on there."

"It's a really nice concept; however, I think you could still work on this.It really has a nice start to it and I hope that you continue working on this wallpaper because I see a lot of potential out of it. Like some have said before, the shadows on the letters are incorrect (as in not having the same light source and how the light casts another shadow on the other letters).
The background, like someone else said, is very plain and I do think that if you did something else to the background (and not having a radial gradient) that this wallpaper would look as gorgeous as it should be.
:o I do hope crit helped you!! Please make a variation of this wallpaper XD I really like it, but not at the stage that it is in right now. I wish you push this wall to it's full potential :D"

"Lol This thing is so cute.Besides the fact that it's cute, I really love the simplicity of it with all the complexity of creating the character. I think you used the negative space really well and adding that little one on the right corner was a good choice because I think you would have had too much negative space without it. I like the detail you have masked within the words and I also think your type was chosen well :D
Cute and simple."

"Though I'm not familiar with this Anime/Manga, I think your wallpaper cracks me up XD Just looking at the character itself makes me laugh my head off. His expression, his teeth...certainly something that adds substance to the wallpaper.I love the colors you used and I think that if you hadn't had the gray or browns, it would have been a strain on the eyes. So it's a good thing you had them there...its kind of mutes out the other colors, but not to an extent where the colors don't stand out. They do stand out and I'm glad that they weren't completely muted out.
I like your typography on here. I also like how you incorporated the lines and the colors of the lines in your text.
This whole piece looks very contemporary and I like that. "

"WOW.I love your spin on it. I looked at the scan and then I looked at your wallpaper and I love what you did with the clouds and using brushes. It really gives it a painterly feel to the wallpaper rather than a vectored version of the scan.
I like the vibrant colors you used...especially on the grass. I also like how you have some depth of field. For example, the magical stuff is bigger and blurrier in the front and then it's more clear as you look further back. The same with the detailed grass and then having a less detailed background. Very nice use of depth of field.
I think the one thing I would have to say about this is that maybe you should have shadows for them, since the light source is coming from their backs.
I hadn't seen this wallpaper...and it makes me laugh even more since I made a wallpaper that is a parody of Totoro XD"

"Hmm...I think you did a pretty good job on the wallpaper. You made the scan fit...or more like you made the background fit the scan very well. The only thing I would question is the light source of your background. There's a light source in the scan (top right), but I can't really see the light source you are using for your forest.
I like the reflection you have in the water. It makes it look more believable.
I really like your idea, I just think maybe you might need some more value (like highlights and shadows) to make your background "pop" out more :]
Oh yeah, one more thing: You might want to add a shadow under the characters and tree so that they don't look like they're just floating there :o
Other than that, I love your concept for this wallpaper :D I think it was a good choice in drawing the background yourself rather than doing a generic Photoshop background."

"I'm a fan of his artwork and this wallpaper caught my eye right away. I'm sorry to say I can't give you props for ideas or anything, since it's just a vector of the image; however, I do give you props for doing a very clean vector of the image."View

"Sweeet.I think you succeeded in making this a simple wall. I'm glad you explained the color choice, because at first I was wondering why you chose those. They looked good no matter what though. You may think that the spin-off of your tagline was lame, but I thought it was pretty funny (...then again I find a lot of things funny).
Anyway, I think it's a great, simple wall. "Less is more"
Very sleek."

"I honestly think that you did a wonderful job of turning Mugen into a realistic character. I've seen some people try this and fail, but I think you were very successful in doing this. You've captured his features very well and you can definitely tell that's Mugen. I also think adding the fish in there is a nice touch too. It's color contrasts with the background so well and leads your eye straight down towards Mugen.Nicely done :]"

"I really like the simplicity of this piece you have. I think it's very effective to have the bits of color in there. I think it emphasizes the girl a lot more since the color is on her cheek as well as in the background. It ties the two together very well."View

"Wow. Reading your description, I do think you have achieved your goal of giving it a fresh, spring-like feeling with the colors you chose. I think you have made it look a bit retro as well and from the thumbnail, I hadn't noticed all the detail (I'm happy I checked the full view) :] I think you did a great job with the details and textures in this wallpaper and I really like your title...even though it's a made up word."View

"This wallpaper has been executed really nicely. I love how you did this and the colors you chose work really well...however, I think that red on the hot air balloon is very dominant and makes my eye move towards there, since it's more saturated than the other colors on the balloon. Do you get what I'm saying? You chose pastel-like colors on the balloon and then...BAM you get this really vibrant red. Also, I think you could have used a different type treatment to "Around the World". I think there's just too much of that font because it's kind of bold and competing with the rainbow.Other than that, I love the texture you created for this wallpaper and I love the pandas too

"I love your concept. A lot of people do these realistic/paper wallpapers and I personally think most of them aren't as successful as yours. I think you cleaned up the image very well and applied it to the parchment very nicely. The 3D brush looks great as well (I'm assuming you did that, right?).Overall, I really love this wallpaper and your idea. You executed this very well :]"

"As others have said, I definitely agree that this is a different approach and is something unique. It caught my attention because of the simplicity of it and your color choice for the squares is like...right on. I think if you had chosen another color, it wouldn't be as sleek-looking and would probably not as effective. One thing I would like to add to this is that I think you should have aligned "Eureka 7" with that row of squares.
Other than that, I think it's a very "simple and clean" (haha Utada Hikaru) wallpaper."

"I've seen this concept before (the sort of cut out pieces layered on top of each other), however, I think you did it some justice. Although some people that use drop shadow a lot totally do an overkill of it in a piece, I think you did it just right. I love the vibrant colors you chose because they make this wallpaper pop out really well. The fact that the texture in the back is grayed out definitely makes this more interesting to look at. Whereas if you had it in some monochromatic color, it wouldn't have much of an effect.Props to you and Fran on the collab."

"I absolutely love this concept. I also like your editing choice as well (not having the sky) because this sort of adds your own interpretation of it...making it your own work. I think by having him appear from the sky would just be another screen cap. So making that choice to keep it simple and clean was a good one (in my opinion).I think that the hint of red and blue are just enough colors to make this piece interesting.
I love what you did to it :]"

"Hahah Although it's a common concept, I really like it. However, I think that if you used Adobe Illustrator, the vectors would have turned out a little more crisp. Photoshop does it well too, but vectors look better done in Illustrator only because it's not so pixelated :]Great job on the wall though. It's much better than what I can do."

"I personally like the alternative version better than the black and white. The black and white one looks like you were trying to do that "Sin City" effect. Perhaps choosing a warmer color for that patch of color would have had much more of in impact because it "pops" out more. Here, you have purple, which is a cool color, and it doesn't seem to have much of an effect (I don't know if you get what I'm saying @~-D-@) Basically, I think warmer colors have more of an effect when isolated in a black and white surrounding O__oI love the details in the back; however, I think it makes it looks a little busy, since the dress already has a pattern.
I really like the alternative one. The background is sort of simple and I think that emphasizes the character because she has those patterns on her dress. I also like how you made the background dull and gradually adding color. I think that also makes me focus more on the red patch of color, since that seem to be the most saturated color on this wallpaper.
Ahhh, sorry for the long post! I like both of them, but I prefer the alternative colored one!! :D
Great wallpaper!!"

"Ahhh! This is absolutely cute!! The vectoring is awesome. I'm not that great in Illustrator, so this is really awesome to me :] Also, I'm kind of biased also because you have pandas there. The composition is great, even though it's a bit symmetrical. Sometimes symmetrical things don't look right, but in this case, I think it's fine. I love the detail on the amps haha The accuracy of the guitars is great as well (even though it's so simple)I'm not much of a fan of pink, however, I'd say this is an exception :] Wonderful job on the wall and vectoring!!"
